In the spirit of "head janitor", lets clean up space by making items left in space deteriorate over time. Abandoned ships, drones, cans would get hit by meteorites or fall into gravity wells. Anchored cans would have to be visited every day/week/month for upkeep.

I want the stargates to beam all players with sec level lower than -0.3 to a lone system with just 1 rat spawn. Now in order for them to get back, they must get a sec status above 0.0. Now they can have fun fighting for the opportunity to kill that 1 rat, when it has its daily spawn. ----- CCP: Please make ship loot to drop in a can next to the wrecks. |

To quote the previous Sig, Make a can that has the loot separate from the wreck, it could be called the cargo-bay container, some kind of cargo bay ejection system.

I think all capital ships (probably including freighters also) should be changed so that they have special attackable ports, or weak spots. These would include their (when applicable) warp drives, sublight drives, weapons, jump drives, clone vats (if applicable), etc. Anything that isn't directly defensive (so, you can't attack their reppers for instance).
The only ships that could target these ports would be bombers (to disable) and logistics ships (to repair).
They can only be attacked by steath bombers, and they're not easy to take down. Say it takes 10 minutes of constant fire by 3 bombers to take out a jump drive. A coordinated group of 10 pilots in bombers could disable 1 port in a couple of minutes, enough time for the cap ship to jump out if they want to.
The damage should be expensive to repair, and difficult to accomplish. Perhaps a repair facility at a POS which can only be anchored where you hold soveriegnty. Also, a logistics ship (and only logistics) could fit a special module which could accomplish the same repairs in the field for free, but it would take more time and perhaps some resources which the cap ship could carry around itself, like spare parts. Say a logistics ship can repair the damage at twice the rate that a single bomber could cause it, so 1 logistics overcome 2 bombers. ---

Alter the logging out mechanism so it is no longer a valid tactic to avoid the very PvP this game is about.
This post illustrates how the community have adapted and accepted the tactic as a CCP sanctioned avenue out of trouble.

An option to make one of your dones the sub-commander, whatever target the sub-commander drone picks (if no command/target is given by the player) the rest will choose as well. (Would be exceptionally helpful for "The Blockade" where targeting range is down to 9km and you can't control your drones)

Dear CCP.... please enable Multiple Monitor support. I know it's a "neat" feature and people will yell and scream about people with multiple monitors having an advantage over those without but........
My best friend can't see so well, he's gotta play games at 800x600 and there's too much forced UI for him to play Eve on a single monitor. He's got to constantly
It's a selfish request, but if I could be head janitor for a day, I'd do it in a heartbeat! Plus.... I wouldn't mind some extra room to see @ 1600x1200 TBH.....

An operational, player-owned finance/banking system (interest bearing cash accounts, loans, stock broker, insurance, mutual funds) that can have contracts enforced by Concord (obviously in empire only). This will allow the financial markets to become a more viable option. That in turn will give small corps better access to large financing.

Smooth out the lag issues. That is one of the hotest topics I hear from other players. Figure how to allow mass warfare to actually be fought. Look we have up to 20k to 30k players on at any given time, you would figure that at least 2% of the population would get together to throw down every now and again. Give the player personal hanger divisions so it can reduce the clutter and allow the player to be more organized. Re-vamp the frigates, need to make them a more viable craft. Add an Aggro-timer that is VISIBLE no matter whether you are in empire or wherever, so that the aggression timer isn't such an easy to abuse gamemechanic anymore and the extreme lameness of cases like the D2 titan will be history.
At the very beginning of my EvE career it was crystal clear for me what to do and were to go. Then the tutorial ended.

Edited by: NIkis on 10/03/2007 13:01:08 Edited by: NIkis on 10/03/2007 12:58:13 My PC was bust till 2 days ago when I bought new one, so apologies if I didnt read the whole thread. My suggestion would address eve economy system.
1)As outlined by a previous blog, GMs uncovered a network of players who had monopoly on certain BPOs and gained loads of isk out of this, which they further sold for real life currency. I am sure there are more left to be busted. 2)I don't find it normal for some tech 2 items to have prices that are 100-1000 times more than cost price. Its really indecent. 3)Some BPO owners don't even bother using them to build because the profit would be 'too small' compared to others 4) .. add whatever other faults in eve economy you see. There is a common root for all evils in eve economy. That is the lack of real competition on market. If builders only have access to a small number of markets, if the supply is scarce, the demand cut by the risk of losing most of modules when you lose ship, you cannot have a healthy economy.
What I suggest is, like Concord has power in the pvp realm of eve (enforcing security status for systems and players), a new corporation in the same 'alliance' as Concord and SEC (or even SEC) should be created to deal with economical issues. The US have antitrust laws, created to explicitly deal with keeping a healthy economy. In other countries there are other regulatory bodies to ensure a fair market play and competition among producers. Money can be tracked. I'm sure the 'follow the money' procedure led the GMs to uncover the conglomerate of players in point 4 of http://myeve.eve-online.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&bid=437 . So the same principle could be used by some simple routines to check the market spread of key tech 2 items, and to take appropriate measures in case something fishy happens on certain regions/with certain players.
PS This would also stimulate PvP as nowadays ridiculous things like 100 man fleets playing hide-and-seek games happen, just because of the prices. Well of course having the option to insure tech 2 ships (and possibly modules too) goes without saying.

Make it so we can have actuall fleet battles. i dont mean fleet battles like they are today where everones screen is frozen and moves at .5 screens per sec. or where the battle is faught on the login screen.
Imagine the possibilities if we could have 100 man fleets go head to head with zero lag?

Totally redo the POS concept.
A POS is tbh a Piece of S*it as it stands today. I would change it as follows :
All the anchored stuff is removed and a single homogenous structure represents the POS. The POS has 32 slots for equipment of varying types such as hardeners, factories, guns etc. To add or remove a module you open the POS management tab and just drag and drop the modules into slots as you see fit. Visually they are represented like turrets are on a ship if you look at a POS.
POS would no longer consume fuel, but instead require spare parts bought from NPC or manufactured by players. The spare parts come in two categories : items that break and items that need replacement on a regular schedule. A typical POS mail would look something like this :
Quote: Unscheduled maintenance : We have a problem with one of the secondary reactor coolant pumps at POS #3 in P-3EN, it needs to be replaced within 72 hours or the reactor needs to be shut down. I need it within fifty hours as its a complicated procedure to replace it.
Scheduled maintenance : Secondary Sensorbuffer - 60 hours left before mandatory replacement Left reactor coolant tank - 108 hours left before mandatory replacement Main deuterium tank : - 108 hours left before mandatory replacement
Instead of the daily grind of refueling and checking that everything is online the POS can become a mission generator for the corp. Something that adds to gameplay instead of detracting from it. A single structure would also reduce lag substantially...
