The "DPS graph" window does not consider the effect of signature radius + velocity on missile damages it would be kind of nice to see, especially now that speed matters that much more.

Originally by: Aceoil I would like to see a POS fitting tool.
Not necessarily within EFT. But I would like to be able to fit a POS in the same way I fit a ship in EFT.
- See the amount of damage it can spit out (and the range and tracking speed in the damage calculations) - See how much shields and armor I have, adjust hardeners accordingly. - See how long my fuel will last (tied in with API)
I know there are plenty of other POS tools. But I don't think that those other tools are as refined and precise as EFT has become. If you can put as much skill and time into a POS fitting tool as you have put into EFT. It could be really sexy.
Can you do for POS fitting/managing tools what you did for ship fitting tools Gripen?
That's a very nice idea. It doesn't even need to be a separate app, as I suspect POSes could be added to EFT as a special "ship" class. Since POSes ignore the usual combat modifiers such as skills, implants, gang boni, etc. it may even turn out to be rather simple to implement (or an absolute nightmare, for some esoteric reason).
An additional benefit from having POS kits in EFT would be the ability to check out POS vs ships fits for DPS/tanking, the same way you currently can run ship kits agaisnt one another.
Is that something you'd be willing to look at, Gripen ? Pretty please with whipped cream and cherry on top ?

Can someone post the additions to the INI file that cover all the NPC Rat damage types? I tried looking through the thread and a few other places and cannot find it.

However, I'm getting an massive failure if you add special characters )(, etc to the name of a custom damage profile. e.g "Amarr Faction (blood, sansha)"
First error dialogue:" ' sansha)' is not a floating point value." [ok]
Noticed that actual offending character was the comma?

That is because COMMA is the delimiter in the INI file. I.E [PROFILE NAME], [EM], [THERM], [KIN], [EXP]
Having a comma in profile name is saved in the INI and it gets messed up. Solution is simple! Don't use comma in profile names, instead may i suggest "/" ? --------------- Opinions? Yes they belong to me, not my corp! |

I can't find an alternative method to get in touch with Gripen so I'll post this here.
I'm in the process of developing a Mac OS X based EVE tool suite, which includes a fitting application. I'm still a long ways off completing it but at some point I'm going to have to deal with the skill/mod/ship calculations and it's been suggested I get in touch to see if you're willing to assist at all.
You can see what the state of play is at http://cocoarookie.wordpress.com/ and the Google Code project http://code.google.com/p/mac-eve-tool-suite/

I've noticed that Capacitor Peak Recharge shows up as 2.5 times what it should. For example, on an empty Harbinger with no skills, the cap is 3125 and the recharge time is 750s, so the recharge rate should be about 4.2 per second (rounded). But peak recharge shows as 10.4.
Is peak recharge something different? What am I missing?
Thanks!

Capacitor Recharge in EVE isn't linear, it peaks at around 33% and is indeed about 2.5 times faster at that point than linear recharge would be.

Some questions.
I'm facing 2 problems.
First of all in a setup im trying (claymore setup) for some unknown reason character All lvl 5 seems to have less shield tanking than Deorum Character. (i've checked if skills are really lvl 5 for the "lvl5" char).
Secondly, i cant get it to apply gang-modules bonus. I press right click set wing/squad/fleet commander with the ship/setup that supposly gives the bonuses but nothing happens.
any insight ?

Just downloaded 2.9.1; tried running under Vista Business. On launch I get "I/O Error 32". Try opening the ship browser, get error "Invalid Index". Click OK to get out of that screen, get "Access violation" error in eft.exe. Haven't been able to get a single installation to work since QR.

Love it, thnx for the QR update.
Only one tiny bug that I've noticed. The DPS graph seems to be ignoring the effects of stasis webs on target ships. Is this bug just with me, or has anyone else noticed it?

Something is wrong with Tracking Enhancer I. It is giving out optimal range bonus better than T2 and named mods.

Could this application be expanded to POS setups?
this could possibly allow for the effects of POS neuts and ECMs to be projected, possibly useful for dreads in siege.

Don't know if this has been reported yet, but:
Nanofiber Internal Structures, Polycarbons and Inertia Stabilizers should affect Inertia, not Agility. This effect is not stacking penalized with Low-Friction Nozzle Joints, which still affect agility.

Edited by: Arakarth on 30/11/2008 00:42:28 I've found a slightly annoying glitch, using EFT 2.9.1, Vista Ultimate and Ultramon 3.03 (http://www.realtimesoft.com/ultramon/); hovering over the show info question mark to show current ship bonuses causes the popup box to appear although it flickers constantly, making it difficult to read the ship bonuses easily. Additionally, the extra buttons that ultramon adds to the window (send to other monitor and stretch window across both monitors) flicker at the same time. Anyone else having this? Great program, kudos to Gripen EDIT turning off ultramon fixes this problem, but d*mnit I can't live without that!

Anyway for those of you wondering, eft works fine on Windows Server 2008 x64.

Have you tried copying setups to the clipboard and pasting them into a text editor? You can use Notepad or any other text editor for that and save the setups as .txt files if that's what you need. Takes about 5 seconds.
