lol, I activated EVE Voice and nothing happend. Zip. Nadda.
Even after asking for help I got no response. Ended up using good 'ol TS.

exactly and its a pita because
1) you want less clicks not more clicks in a fleet fight -- Esp. when you have to change between fleet settings or different columns and need to resize to include vel. transversal, type etc
2) new drone UI has that large space given to the drones target that cannot be limited but rather overwrites and obscures drones hitpoints.

You know, CCP has to release UI improvements slowly. Most of us pay just to wait to see what EVE will become, not to play what EVE is today. Secondary, we pay to see what our characters will become, not what they are today. Regardless, the root of our "addiction" is the same, to see what a product which we have formed a relationship with will become.
Having a user friendly, i.e. not designed by programmers, interface is something EVE should put as priority number two right after performance. Most concede that it is one of the most craptacular UIs out there in comparison to other top 10 ten MMORPGs.
So, count me in as one who says it's a nice start, but the finish better not be another couple of years away. The competition will soon be on to your waiting game.

Eve voice seems to have decent functionality, but until it becomes free it won't catch on. CCP do you really need to charge for it? IMHO using voice chat out of game isn't what sets ts and vent apart, its the price tag.

Is there any particular reason open cans in a ship's hold have to close every session change? Would be wonderful if this was no longer the case.

I was less then impressed by the overview changes. There is a lot of information that clutters up very precious real estate as is. All this has done is open the window for more bugs. Several off the top of my head are as follows.
-your first 2 locked targets appear at the far top right of the screen and are hidden by the overview in it's default position. Joy.
-The fleet window is bugged and likes to hang out in a very inconvenient spot when your docked. What's worse is it's stuck there until you undock again.
-There are certain places on the screen where if an overview pane is set atop it will cause that overview window to stop functioning.
I hope these and the other bugs seen on Singularity were fixed before the code freeze. ... ------------------------------------------------- **** Name ONE thing that your windows comp can do that my MAC cant

It would be really great if you could move the "current system" information in the top-left of the screen to sit at other positions - I normally stack chat windows I need on screen over that area, but it's kind of frustrating having them cover the auto-pilot and current system info, even with the ability to make the windows transparent.

Would it be possible to make locked target line across the screen invisible? It can be optional to show these lines and not to show. When you have locked 6 targets and there are more ships on screen picture can be really messy. So it would be good to remove lines and left only targets bracket.

an anoyance when i'm Fleet commander is i want to be able to see if my wing & squad commander give bonus.
For exmempl : me - FC5 wing 1 - wc4 4 squad
i create a 5th squad, i need to replace the wing commander, but i've no indication that now he doesn't give bonus.
It's nice for squad member to be allow to see if they receiv, but for fc it might be cool to know if our commadner have the right skills ----------- Igvar Thorn arn ! |

Make the target list configurable. I HATE the ship icons. I want to see text readout like this:
Pilot Name Ship class (i.e. interceptor, recon, cruiser etc) Ship type (i.e. crow, rook, vexor etc) health bars
Also I'd love to have my target list resizable, so I can make it vertical instead of horizontal.
Make the combat message box resizable, so we can see at least a few lines without opening the log window.
Make a button to make windows transparent to any action. f.e. I open the log window, resize and place it somewhere comfortable and make it transparent. Suddenly I have a better combat message box without much coding effort.
Copy the Guildwars UI ? It's the work of a half-genius. Or implement all suggestions in Xaens UI thread.

You will see an option in the next version on SiSi to lock windows when they are pinned or to have them unlocked.

but with so many you can hardly enjoy the visual spectacle..
Would be nice to have some kind of battle recorder.. so you could play back your fights.. in some kind of eve player...
would be cool for frapsing as well..

It's been fixed, actually enhanced, now you can move the targets. Will be released to SiSi soon.

Hi,
I like the Eve Voice integration into the fleet window.
Some suggestions:
Add a collum to the Overview showing "special effect" Icons. If someone warpscramble, ecm, damp, tracking distrupt, etc you he get the corresponding Icon. This way you can directly associate where this guy is, what ship he fly and also can directly issue conter actions. I would keep the running timer, add the effect name to it (sometimes not shown) and remove the ship name (now visible in overview) to free up space.
Remove the Avatar Icons from the Chat Member List. Quite useless to ses all the exclamation marks - and it would save some space.
I would like to have a broad overview the how healthy my fleet/wing/squad is. In my opinion this a a essential tactical information. This could be expressed by a single health bar at each group row in the fleet window, indicating the cumulated health of its subgroups health/members shild and armor.
In addition there should be some kind of body count, to see how many pilots of that group are still flying their combat ships (insteed of lurking around in a pod!) Currently you show the member count in brackets - you could add a secound number indicating how many pilots are not in a pod: (5/10) half wing/squad is dead => don't send them into the core heat now, but let'em regroup or send them to guard a gate.
Please remove the "kick member" till "set as squad booster" part of the context menu in the watch list. I dont think the watch list will be used for fleet organisation - so those choices just clutter the menu.

But not any word about reducing time creating fleet. Like a free walk in sqaud, wing by members. Today all work creating fleet, move members sqaud to sqaud, change Leadership pilot make it Fleetcomander. I thin need more options to reduse this.
Take place overview icon it's all? in UI. How abot? - Hotkeys - Easy Tag - Small icon idicate status target (jam, disrupt, web, damp, painter).
