Ninja salvagers are fullfilling a purpose. If you wanted that salvage, get to it first.

I see history has taught you nothing, while some of those ninja salvagers are indeed "newbies" a large part of them would LOVE you to aggress them, like... a lot. Apart from that, if you CHOOSE to play your missions solo and not, for instance, bring along a (newbie) friend/corpie/alt to salvage for you then you CHOOSE to be susceptable to ninja salvagers.

Because when that happens you'll make a new thread whining about how you got ganked by said ninja salvager after you tickled his salvage dessy and he came back in something bigger.

If their goal is to annoy you, they're certainly not failing at their game. If their game is to grab salvage to sell, they're also not failing at their game. If your goal is to grab salvage and they're grabbing it first, you're failing at your game. Just my opinion.
Don't forget, you can always string a salvager along by shooting at the wrecks, if you're so inclined.

Yes. Those are the facts: it's not your stuff.
Quote: And in any case i should be able to fight for it.
Why? It's not your stuff. That said, you can fight for it – just not with guns if you're in highsec. All other means to win the stuff you're after are at your disposal (and you have far more means available to you than the other interested parties to boot).
Quote: You can say what you want...its just lame and annoying.
It's not me saying it – it's CCP. If you want the stuff, earn it. Then it will be yours and you can start shooting at people over it.

OH Really?
Then who did kill those ships in the first place? You certainly didn't do anything to earn it, besides probing us out wich is 100% risk free.

Like all scamming in EVE, if you can call it that, it's completely and easily avoidable.

Yeah well this isnt avoidable..which is why im posting.Because it either should be..or let us fight em.Theres a nice new function in the game ..its called abandon wreck.Id say the garbage men have enough to do with those..at 0 risk.
And even being able to do a lvl 4 is work enough..for those who say the missioners dont work.If its no work then why not do your own

Sure, because of people like you aggro-ing npc groups who weren't doing anything first and then turn their attention to me because you quickly warp out doesn't has any risk at all.
Every time you start a mission you have a chance to lose your ship because you make 1 little mistake and the whole room aggro's you. People like you only increase that risk.
So while you can happily salvage away because the missioner takes all the aggro anyway, we can't do anything back besides shoot the wrecks and with that shoot ourselves in the back.
Yeah, makes perfect sense. But then again I cant really approve of any of this because this is my signature |

You have options. * Salvage as you go. * Bring a friend. * Don't mission in busy agent hub systems, which are like ninja magnets. * Stop complaining.
Take your pick. You can even combine two or more of these options. Sig pending |

Regardless of how you feel about the wrecks, the salvage is not yours per CCP. I sympathize. When I missioned it would **** me off to no end that someone else was salvaging my missions while I was hard at work killing the npc. Since there's nothing I or anyone else could do about it I decided to become a ninja and be a much happier person. In essence reducing the supply (however small) and exacerbating the issue. If it gets bad enough CCP will have to do something. So, become a ninja, quit missioning. At the least don't mission in a mission hub.

It's entirely avoidable. Possible tactics involve: not running missions in overpopulated areas; not running missions in obvious mission-running ships; using a faster ship; fitting tractor beams; not waiting too long to salvage; running mission in areas where you can shoot ninjas at will.
Quote: And even being able to do a lvl 4 is work enough..for those who say the missioners dont work.If its no work then why not do your own
That's not what people are saying. They're saying that running L4s does not entitle you to the salvage, because you're already receiving full rewards for that work (standings, LP, rewards and time bonuses, bounies, loot). If you want to earn the additional income that the salvage represents, then you have to do the additional work (i.e. moving over and salvaging). For the same reward, the ninjas actually have to do a whole lot more work, and are therefore potentially even more entitled to it than the mission-runners are.
Originally by: Drenan Ok, so nobody owns empty 'yellow wrecks'? ...so what happens to me if I shoot one of these 'ownerless' wrecks in highsec?
You destroy a can belonging to another player and get duely GCT:d. Again, there is a difference between the contents of the wreck (the can and any loot that may or may not be in it) and the wreck itself. The wreck is ffa – the contents are not.
Quote: If I didnt killed the ship in the first place there wouldnt even be any salvage at all.
If you didn't salvage the wreck, there wouldn't be any salvage at all – that's the effort you have to make. The work leading up to this opportunity has already been fully rewarded.
Quote: Sure, because of people like you aggro-ing npc groups who weren't doing anything first and then turn their attention to me because you quickly warp out doesn't has any risk at all.
a) works both ways, and b) get a better ship.
Quote: Every time you start a mission you have a chance to lose your ship because you make 1 little mistake and the whole room aggro's you.
Not really, no, and again: standings, LP, rewards and bonuses, bounties, loot… you are already being amply rewarded for this (non-)risk-taking.
Salvage is not part of the mission rewards. It is not yours until you make the effort of making it yours by salvaging the wrecks. ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

And why should I go mission somewhere else or become a ninja. This game isnt all about themIt doesnt pay half as good.Infact im pretty sure this will change soon and im just giving it a bump.

You can. You're just confused over what "it" is. You killed it, so you get the bounty (automatically), the sec status increase (automagically), and the loot (you can fight over it if they like).
If you want the salvage, you have to do something else – you have to (tada!) salvage it, much like how, if you want the ore, you have to mine it. The "fight" here is a race against time: who gets to the wreck first?
Quote: Thats what eve is about..collecting and defending it.
You mean just like what you do with salvage? You see who can get there first and who can get enough salvage cycles in to have lady luck smile at you?
Quote: Why give them free stuff?
Yes, why are you? Why don't you want to use all the tools at your disposal to make sure the stuff is yours rather than theirs?
Quote: And why should I go mission somewhere else or become a ninja.
Because apparently, what you're doing now and/or where you're doing it means you can't keep up with the competition. ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |
