941. Welcome to EVE, Ms Sohili! (And all new players) - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Originally by: Zhecao Vai I'm very surprised at the existence of the above "impersonation" rule. I hope it doesn't apply to this sort of in-game scamming It doesn't -- the quoted rules were from an unspecified "chat channel" and from th...

942. Welcome to EVE, Ms Sohili! (And all new players) - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Originally by: Sohili 80% of every ISK that I got from the gametime cards went to what I thought was a CORP operation for a 0.0 POS. Ding ding ding! Alert! Alert! Small tear in the fabric of reality there. From the original post: O...

Janks refers to Janks because Janks is an illeist. A very funny illeist.

944. Legitimate play or greifing ? - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
If that's griefing, I had a miner grief me today. I was sorting through a jettisoned can near this miner, pulling out the better ores -- can was full of a mix -- and putting in my transport, when his drones blew up the can. Oh, the oremanity!

LOL, if it weren't for the 500 m/s max tractor speed, I might actually do that.

947. Extended Downtime & Sisi Stress Test on Tues, 16 Jan from 11-1500 GMT - in EVE Information Portal [original thread]
Yes, but they have that nifty little box on the login screen for news updates, it's still telling people to join the stress test, how much time would it take to update it? I don't understand why -- when they are having server problems -- they don...

Love the fact that they announce a stress test, fubar it, and don't even bother to post back to this thread with updated information / instructions.

949. Why put asteroids in the hidden complexes? - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
I found one -- Gurista Lookout -- in .8 last night, that had Jaspet, Herm, and Omber roids. Not huge, but worth mining. Except that the largest thing allowed through the gate was a destroyer. No barges, no haulers, no transport cruisers, nothing....

950. Bloggers #46, TomB on Inventions - in EVE Information Portal [original thread]
"At the end of the year there were around 200 more to be built, which is far from being enough." Uh oh... I'm hoping this is an ambiguity of language. Was this meant to imply that there's a fixed number of interfaces "to be built", of which 200 ...

Nothing in the Badger line is ever the biggest, but if you're reading this thread and wondering about your Caldari ship skills, I can tell you that a Bustard transport with a full rack of TII expanders and two cargo rigs holds a bit in excess of 3...

952. What the Privateer Alliance does is not an exploit - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]

953. How to annoy ore thieves - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Brutor, your original idea won't work. You've got to kiss a lot of toads before you find a princess; there's nothing annoying in opening a miner's can and finding it empty, because that happens a lot already. Plenty of cans that recently got empti...

955. Is it just me or...? - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Completely vague subject line for the lose. People have to read the topic to find out what it's about, then they don't have anything to say, so they leave. Works better if the subject line says something about, y'know, the subject of the post.

957. Transfering ice/ore from one jet can to another - griefing? - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
It's not griefing even if he blew up the ore, because once he took the ore, it was his to do what he wants with. (Although blowing up ore makes Ironfleet salvagers cry, and we don't do it.) That said, sometimes when Ironfleet rescues jettisoned o...

960. THEIR COMING (ORE) - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
I'm actually hoping it *doesn't* have a jump drive, in the fashion of a freighter. If this thing can't be brought into Empire, it's going to be a huge disappointment. Chribba will cry. It doesn't need to make *economic sense* in Empire, but it o...
