Apparently the Amarr Faction Militia has decended into a petty ****ing contest. Read: civil war.
Thats right corps in the Amarr Militia have actually war decced each other.
Now you can't do this in an Alliance, should this be removed? While I'm sure this civil war is entirely about egos, it follows this be used for more nefarious purposes.
Simplified: Remove the ability for corps in the same militia to wardec each other. Yes/No

This has been going on in Caldari militia on a smaller scale for weeks. Ironfleet has a war dec active from another militia corp, because of an ancient grudge that CEO has against us.
I think there should be strong social pressure within the militias against this sort of thing -- it's detrimental to the war effort after all -- but there's really no game mechanics failure here. ------------------ Ironfleet.com |

Another reason why militias should only be individual representation. CCP should make militias like a community club that ANYONE can join as an individual. Like if I wanted to join up with a book club in real life. This way, enitre corps don't have to join... entire alliances don't have to join... ONLY players are allowed in the club. You still keep your corp or alliance, but as long as you have standings, you are in. Oh, and I'd raise the standings requirement to 2.00 --------------------------------- Pithecanthropus erectus, a name derived from Greek and Latin roots meaning upright ape-man. |

Why do folks always want an in-game fix to something that can be solved by negotiations? Geez, why not contact the various groups involved and offer your services as a intermediary to help resolve their differences if you feel it has a detrimental impact on FW?!
Besides, your solution doesn't solve the problem since one corp could resign from the militia and wardec the offending party.

It's definitely silly for the Amarrian militia to be fighting itself; it's not as if they are short on opponents. However, given that there's next to no control on who is allowed to join or remain in a militia, I don't see an alternative. How else could the members of the militia 'police' themselves?

While I agree with the principle of having this kind of freedom in EVE two things about it bother me.
> These corps chose the smallest, some might say hardest pressed, militia to infiltrate and attack.
> They don't show up on your overview. Yes, you can keep yet another tab on my overview to switch to when attacked by "friendlies", but it's a highly inconvenient having them displayed all the time. I should imagine having them agress your frigate, nanowotsit, or med/long-range ship after sliding up below 10km makes you feel particularly... violated.

It adds character yes, but its also pretty disruptive. Id like to know if this was and intended game mechanic or was it something overlooked by CCP?
And another thing. Does the in-militia war dec bypass the standing loss as a result of kills in militia, therefor is it a legitimate griefing bypass?

Maybe externally- but in saying that nothing is stopping me from war deccing a 1 man corp to bypass all FW rules about high sec ganks- turning the militia into a "normal" alliance, negating the whole "step from pve to pvp" side of FW. Furthermore making it too hard (ie Faction navies attack Wartargets regardless of militia) would mean that the Militias would just become clotted with wardec shirkers. Operate in Gall high sec? sweet- join the Militia and have the NPC navy remove the threat for you.
Now internally we have an even bigger problem. On one hand- which side would be aggressable, the wardeccer or wardeccee or both? Now what about from the social aspect? There is no way to regulate militia membership (unlike norm alliances) and from what I can tell all the corps decced have been from established corps with a history, not from griefers. Also there are alot, ALOT of morons in the militias, gall and minnie included- there should be a way of kicking the ****ers and morons out- but it should be handled BY the militia- not by a ccp mechanic.

Nothing against Tubes or anyone else, and yeah Angel gets some fleets/blobs together, which is great. But the idiotic behavior far outweighs any positive contributions imo. Also, a lot of other corps are contributing (including Slackers) but they are skeptical about letting outsiders in, ie npc militia people. Common sense dictates there are more than a few spies.

Too bad Angel doesn't understand diplomacy and acts more like an attention deprived child then a mature fleet commander. It is a good thing Angel is leaving it'll let more FC's get expereince and hopefully a more cohesive militia.
If Tubes got war decced it is their own fault for pushing so many to the limit. I've known many corps were reaching their limits with Angel and company. Calling everyone traitors who won't get in his fleets. Seeing spies everywhere and calling people spies saying he has proof when there is none. Angel caused his own falling.

Any commander worth his salt expects to have spies in gangs when he's running with people he hasn't been flying with for a long time. Its not a reason at all to exclude people, but its also not a reason to be obsessively paranoid and accuse everyone of being spies when a skirmish doesn't go your way. Personally from an FCing standpoint in FW, I have zero issue with letting people I don't know into my gangs - its just difficult when you've been blocked by half the militia at the request of someone who doesn't like you
As far as Amarr goes, the situation is not nearly as bad as some of the more vocal people (including myself) might have led others to believe. Obviously I have no intent to cause another CAOD flamewar, but RHNVY and SL never attempted to drag the entire militia into our problems with Tubes. Angel has been the one consistently spouting vitriol and lies because he wasn't receiving the popular support he thought he deserved - to the point where he cursed out the admins of the Amarr Milita forums when they told him to sort it out himself. Don't get me wrong though, I've been doing more than my fair share of antagonizing in Militia Chat as well, but now that Angel has ragequit and promised to go to the Caldari or Minmatar Militias, things should be getting back to normal soon.

Based on the knowledge I have of alot of corps and Alliances. I think war decs within militia is great. How many times have blue shot blue, corp thieves and general dislike how others play the game.
I would think by allowing the militia to act like a true milita instead of an alliance the aspect of play actually is more based on the orignal concept Eve is based on.
I feel that players and corps standings should hold more impact in the militia. By playing the FW aspect the militia should be more controled.
One thing people forget is that in chat there is a way to block.
