If you don't know the difference between railguns and blasters to fit on your Eos, I think you should send a trouble ticket to ebay and ask for a new account. -clp

Blasters are a much closer range weapon than the Railguns, blasters tend to work better for Pvp than do railguns which tend to be more useful in missions and the like

Eos is a t2 battle CRUISER.
But to answer your Q, although to a slightly different effect....get into an astarte - Eos has near enough zero uses and sadly...almost no potential at the moment. I used to see it in every single gatecamp. I havent seen one in atleast 3 months.
Grab yourself a brutix with blasters, and see what you can do. Then when you've got some joy out of it, and know what to do, kick up to an astarte.
for an Eos id go rails and drones, but even then, you'll be doing less dps than a brutix (t1 variant)

You should ask the seller for a copy of the manual as well, as the Eos isn't a T2 battleship...
If the auction told you it is, maybe you can get a refund?

Rails - really slow tracking, long range, low damage. Blasters - good tracking, short range, high damage.
Exactly what do you plan to do with that Eos? Considering it's a gallente ship and might have drone support I would go for blasters, PVP and gatecamps but then again although I'm gallente I don't fly gallente ships :)

I ll teach you a stuff, when you want some stats on a module, right clic on it, then clic show info. There is a lot of interesting stuff in show info you know - optimal range, damage modifier ect ect. You are flying EOS and dont know "show info" ?
Here is my advice, sell your ebay character, then start a new one, and make the tutorial.

pd : edited some of my crappy English =P
first he said, 'pd' instead of 'ps', and he highlights his english is crap, so assume its not his first langauge. Anyway, on those assumptions i guessed he meant that he is looking at an eos setup (maybe he wanting to fly it, like a goal) and using the word 'my' is cause he has one setup on eft.
not everyone goes to ebay! but, then i could be very wrong...eitherway, to the op, your answers look like they have covered your question just ignore the trolls.

Crappy English or not, flamed or not, don't matter to me.
For Pve, fit rails. Blasters will take you way to long to get into range. 250mm rails would be the best (antimatter/thorium/lead/iridium) Range is your friend here. Decent dmg against frigs/cruisers a little slow on BS sized targets but doable if you are grouped for missions. (will tear apart lvl3's tho.)
for pvp, fit command modules if you can, blasters are gonna be in the 1-3km range so you will need to fit an MWD/injector/web/scram in your mids. dmg is pretty good tho.
you will be relying on drones. Meds and lights as the bandwith really doesn't let you use 5 heavies or sentries. Carry lots of spares so you can just keep popping them out.

thank you for your last positive answers .. is what i was looking for .. and yes, i have right now the ship and i have the leadership abilities and the modules for it (not gunnery skills tho) .. what i donŠt really have is experience in the game iŠm afraid, mostly because as i commented up there, i had zero time to play (and nearly zero internet connection) so i went for a tech 2 ship and started to play with it a few days ago ... maybe my post was not enough clear .. i know the basis of the game but i was out for 3 months .. just studying skills ..
anyway thank you again, will try to check the forums and the pages a bit more and see you in space =)

For solo pvp, use blasters.
For small gang and bigger pvp, use railguns, or you'll spend too much time charging toward targets and not enough time doing damage.
This remain true for just about any gallente ship, not just the Eos... ------------------------------------------

Funny how Ebay banned virtual item sales over a year ago and there are currently no EVE online accounts listed and a search for EVE online accounts completed within the last 30 days shows ZERO, yet there are still morons that spout Ebay everytime some one ask a question. Try to post an EVE online account for sale on Ebay and see how fast it is removed and you have to take their little "Intellectual Property" online course to get your account unblocked. Rail Guns:
Weapon of choice for turret based PvE pilots mainly because range is king in those battles. In PvP these weapons are typically used in sniping ships or in situations where battles are generally mid to long ranges. However damage is king in PvP and Railguns are some of the lowest DPS weapons in the game causing most to use blasters (the polar opposite of rail guns) instead. This change in larger scaled pvp where the environment is target rich and the battlefields bigger. In large scale PvP rail guns are often better then blasters due to their ability to contribute to damage on the primary target immediately keeping them all in optimal, and shift to and begin damaging the new primary target as soon as the current target falls. Range is one of the key tactics in PvP because it can wreck havoc in a fleet holding a high concentration of close range blaster/autocannon ships because it will force them to spread out their dps or delay it greatly as close range ships struggle to get the primary target in range before it dies.
Common Attributes of Rail guns: Pros: ++Extremely long range (longest range weapon class) +Moderate rate of fire (steady damage) +High Optimal range (means targets in your range are likely within optimal increasing weapon reliability)
Cons: -High Capacitor Drain (these weapons cost the most cap in the game behind Amarr laser weaponry) -Low Damage and crap burst damage -Slow Tracking (Close range and fast ships with moderate to high transversal can't be hit without webber) -Hard to fit (These weapons are power grid heavy as all long range weaponry are)
Blasters: These weapons have by a fair margin the highest damage and shortest range in the game. These weapons fire fast and are typically used in GANK ships to quickly overwhelm the opponents defenses. These weapons excel the most in an environment where there are few targets with heavy tanks. However they are weak in target rich environments due to the size of the battlefields inability to contribute to damage in an environment where weapon fire is focused and on rapidly changing targets. That means these weapons are of limited use in large scale pvp fights as to use them effectively you place them on a capital ship which will not die fast, or in a small death squad of similar ships who attack their own targets. In PvE due to the aformentioned weakness blasters are a poor choice due to an abundance of weak targets spread out over a large battlefield. You would spend too much time and capacitor just reaching all your targets.
Pros: +VERY high damage (highest damage weapon in game) +little effect on range for using high damage ammo (Antimater comes with a 50% penalty to optimal range, since blaster weapon range mostly comes from falloff, the effect is minimal) +High rate of fire +Light on capacitor usage +Very fast tracking (minimal effect since blasters tracking is still not good enough to hit fast targets where tracking would be a problem anyways)
Cons: --Extremely short range (you will need to use cap heavy Micro Warp drives to close range quickly with your targets) -Unreliable damage (since most of range is in falloff this weapon is subject to falloff accuracy degradation, which is minimal) ******************************************** CEO of CSS Ltd.
