See, looky here... an insult and condescension.... thats classic BoB for you.
You guys made CAOD the craphole it turned into, just go to eve-search and check it out. Before the ASCN war, you guys acted just like how the goons are acting, the only difference is that there are fewer of you. Hell your leader, Mr molle, even posted personal information about people on Eve-o. Dude, deny it all you want, doesn't change the fact that you guys did this to the game. ☺☻☺☻☺ SO how do you get me to stop posting? Bump this thread Until devs answer |

and what does this have to do with sports or balls? you wish to settle this with a manly game of rounders *ahem* i mean baseball?
or are you making some thinly veiled (and generally not very good) remark about his manhood?
that kind of goes against what you've been saying, in that you've made yourself into a jerk by lowering yourself to his level. tsk, tsk. ========================================== Wah, Wah, Wah. deal with it. |

I'm with Rells for the most part. His problem though is he just doesn't "get it" and hence doesn't know how to dismiss it.
For the lulz... That's it. No other explanation required. Yeah, your a funny little internet ****head. Good for you.
Anyway, all this other stuff aside, I couldn't help but be reminded of this little cinematic gem...

I'm actually gonna defend Avon. BoB, especiall during the ASCN war, did a vast and amazing ammount of ****ting. But no more than any other alliance who seemed to be steamrolling (rapetraining, whatever) their opponents has ever.
The difference being not only the abusiveness of it, but the OOGness of it. Don't you remember molle or blacklight or DBP saying "We will do anything, including using OOG stuff, to win."
HEy, have you ever called up someone's job to get them fired? BoB has.

Oh good, so I could just copy/paste my response to your response from your response. Poignant and efficient.
Originally by: shinsushi Dude, not that I do not agree with you, you are right. I am part of the problem.
So you say you're part of the problem, but rather than put a stop to your own behavior with some self regulation, you instead choose to be the problem and blame everyone else for it when they draw attention to it?
Sounds like when an abusive partner beats their spouse even more because they ask them to stop. Charming behavioral model you've got going for yourself.
Originally by: Keldjos Falzir One group says things like "die in a fire" because they are being meta-funny. It's funny because, in cold reality, nobody in their right mind would wish death by burning on another person, yet thin skinned losers like you take it seriously.
Forensic science has also progressed to the point where it isn't as viable an option as it used to be, in order to escape detection of a felony, at least.
Originally by: Keldjos Falzir The second type of troll says things like "die in a fire" because they don't like other people and would desperately love to be able to douse all the idiots they encounter online and in real life in kerosene and dance as they burn, because they see no value in most human life. For various reasons, this is usually impossible, so they stick to getting jollies my trolling thin skinned losers like you.
While you sound awfully like the second type, don't you.
Originally by: Keldjos Falzir Now, with this understood, I heartily encourage you to play in traffic before you can breed. Or, if you have already bred, make it a family affair.
After considering what you've said, I heartily encourage you to stand too close to a fire - as though you've made it clear that we shouldn't directly wish for harm to befall others - there could always be an accident.
Originally by: Alex Harumichi When I compare this to another forum I frequent a lot (rpg.net), the difference is striking.
I've noticed the same quality elsewhere too, and I'm pretty sure of the place I recall that they've got 1) more posters and more content to moderate and 2) a totally unpaid volunteer staff to do it.
Originally by: Verite Rendition Frankly, the problem is that they fired ISD without coming up with a real plan on what to do with them gone. The GMs, bless their normally competent souls, are few in number in the first place.

Originally by: Sicil Fioet People troll for the same reason why they troll everywhere else on the internet and grief in internet spaceship games. Now the real question is why does it bother you?
Just because people do it elsewhere, doesn't excuse it.

Originally by: El'Niaga The attitude in game and on the forums is something that is hampering growth
A lot of people I know on EVE seem to pay $20 a month here to not post on EVE-O. I think selecting not to use part of what would otherwise be a service you pay for says a lot about that service in a consumer driven society.

Rells..the silent majority understand where you are coming from. But this is a fight you ain't gonna win on any internet forum. As you have no doubt noticed your replies simply elicit more spew.
Maybe at some point CCP will wake up and realize that the current state of it's forums is embarassing and take some steps to remedy the situation.

Well most people appear to behave as apes ( am my apologies for offending such a noble species ) either here or in rl so its no surprise really that most behave like brainless beings here.
And its like the OP stated, they do it because in here they have a chance to get away with the insult and not getting their legs broken with a bat.
The real question is, were are the mods?CAOD is in the gutter, seriously, some alliances/corps had their forum warriors but you could "argue" with them or even discuss things to a certain level, with GOONS its plain impossible they are like that weed that floods everything with pointless and stupid content turning any good debate thread into a sh**fest.
Besides ever since alot of new people came in this year, alts, really new folks, CCP just seems unable or doesn't want to deal with the issues presented.
And i liked to read CAOD's arguements on battles and even the ocasional wardec, C&P's good pirate stories, now... its all garbage. _____________________________________

Nothing else about is worth thinking about.
The internet has its serious uses, such as exchange of information. But trying to find some kind of meaningful human interaction is chasing a mirage. Thats what RL is for.
As for trying to find meaningful discourse about internet spaceships on a games forum... dream on. Take what you like discard the rest.

The point is that my alliance tag is irrelevent to the discussion. My points would have been equally valid if I had posted them from an alt, but more-so in your eyes, odd.
This isn't an inter-alliance point scoring excersise, and should not be used as such. That is counter-productive. I want the forums to be better. I try to post in a way that promotes that. I can hope that other people will make that effort, but I have no control over it.

Rells, while I agree with you that the level of unconstructive flames is far too high in these forums, I can't help but feel this thread was a tactical blunder. Giving the forum warriors a whole thread specifically for their attention starved selves was always going to end in flames rivaled only by a nation of serial arsonists.
And while it is up to the individual poster to not post like an idiot, the "it's teh interwebs, get thicker skin" argument is valid. Ideally, it wouldn't be, but these forums reside on the internet where such behavior has beome the norm. As such, it is to be expected, if not excused.
