hiya.
there is a very big problem with new hidden plex ( old 6/10 statics plex)...
what's wrong ?simple..
i found a hidden plex in sistem ( unk signal ) i went to gate.. jump in.. and no npc in it.. no gate keeper for next gate.. i talked with support GM .. he told that this plex despawn later downtime... you know what mean?
if somebody already did it .. the plex remain it and you maybe spent 30 min / 1 hours /2hours for find a plex that you are never be able to do cose there aren't npc in it and you can't activate next gate...
why pre rev 2 hidden plex despawn very soon? while now this plex need downtime before leave ?
you need fix this dev.. or so many players oftern will scan for hidden plex that they never can do that...

OK, here's a nasty little bug we can thank Vista support for adding to our game.
Like many others, I had gotten the "Insufficient Priviledge" error on migrating settings. Unlike most others, ignoring it or using the "/end /LUA:OFF" switches didn't help, and in fact I couldn't get into the game at all. It would simply freeze after acquiring bulk data. This is with an empty cache folder, BTW.
So, I decided to try uninstalling the client entirely and re-installing it to the *default* location. Sure enough, this worked fine, although now I'll have to pull my settings and bookmarks from my backup.
The key issue here, for the devs to address, is that my original installation was in C:\Games, which was a partition mount-point. NTFS allows you to mount partitions within other paths, and it's very convenient when you add hard drives to NOT have to fiddle with hundreds of registry entries and .ini files.
SOMETHING in the way the new client does things (and I suspect it has to do with Vista support, as Caesar IV also did this) refuses to accept that C:\Games is not part of C:\, and it probably fails trying to write to the underlying directory that the partition is mounted over.
So, thanks to Vista, my Windows XP system has to have several games installed on the older slow drive because it won't properly deal with NTFS features.
Hopefully, someone else might find this useful... it took me quite a few guesses to figure this one out. :)

my suggsetion for 2-4 hour cycling of despawning ( finished) and respawning of new ones ( fresh replacement within constellation or even region of both exploration and encounters) has been totally ignored b ythe devs they can do it with NPC belt spawns but not exploration-encounters which means u should get on af ter dt to farm stuff c ause just before dt there is a definite disadvantage.

ok im afraid i had to back up what is being said on the subject of the drone regions. this really is annoying now. Have been in the drone regions for a while and always noticed i could make more money if i go else where depending on how i worked eg if i just wanted quick cash then fountain or something is where to go where as if you wait then drone regions is the best but now what?! everything has disappeared, we have had one cosmic location in the entire system so far and my co-ceo said he worked hard today and got a drone officer killed it but it dropped nothing. i mean wth has happened to the drone regions, they really are bad :(
it would appear the drone regions are being the last to have anything in them and its really quite annoying to be able to rat and fill a can easily within a few hours to make the normal amount as you would in 0.0 then after a patch take an entire day to fill a can?!?!

Wow I can't belive so many people complaining about where the game options are saved.
If you look at any new big game they all save to my documents or local data, this means if more then one person uses the computer (like in alot of homes) the saved data is not over written. It also means you only need to back up your user directory if you want to backup and rebuild your machine.
The funny thing is this means windows is more like Linux and OSX where user details and saves are kept on the user directory and not in the app directory, which will aid in Eve's porting to those OS's.
Personally I've found the patch to work perfectly fine and am quite happy with it,and this is on a client that was installed off the orginal CD copied between hard driver and not been reinstalled once since.

I want to voice my opinion of the file relocation, fact is, I can find it, it was all there... sort of...
I am not sure how many screenshots I had prior to the patch, but now I have 8... all are identical.

so in MY case my shortcut looks like this:
F:\CCP\EVE\eve.exe /end /LUA:OFF ...more stuff
per what instructions?

Edited by: Amael Galenus on 20/06/2007 22:28:32 Apologies if these have been reported before:
1) Standing increases for "Gone berserk" and "Human cattle" level 2 missions are out by a factor of 1000 (e.g. you get 0.0012% standings increase instead of 1.2%)
2) Windows don't remember their size when you close them- i.e. you look at someone's info, resize the window to read it, close the window, then the next info window you open is back to the default (small) size again. This has been happening since the previous patch and IS VERY ANNOYING!... I waste so much time having to constantly resize windows.
3) Drone AI is still borked (and it's not just on "rare" occasions- it kept on happening to me over and over again tonight). Sent 5 hammerheads to engage a target, they start attacking, apparently get bored, 2 stay attacking the intended target, 2 split off to attack another target, the remaining 1 also splits off to attack another target. It seems to happen more when you finish a target lock- i.e. if the drones are attacking a target and you establish a lock on a new target, they just go nuts and do what they like.
4) There is a long delay with the overview bar updating to show that a wreck is now empty (i.e. when the wreck icon changes from white to grey and empty). It also deselects whatever you had selected in the overwiew bar when it refreshes for this which is very annoying.
5) All of my settings were lost- have remade them but it was a pain to do.
Other than that, all seems good- well done!
Edit: Tried to bug report these but the server seems to be dead

Originally by: Ari Chu Ok overall I think the patch went well though there are two things which could be improved upon for my experience:
1) I have run about 20 missions today with a new Corp, was gaining corp standing and even got a storyline mission which brought my corp standing up to .15..... then I get no more faction/corp standing after that for another 10 or so mission runs.
Yea - the same with my agents....this has me nervous. Hope it gets fixed ASAP...unless someone already knows of one.
Thanks!

And CCP, I have to congratulate you on a quick and mostly painless patch. LP store is nice, though I sincerely wish I would've known beforehand to stock up on Navy tags instead of just selling them.

I said it before, I'll say it again. Everytime a major patch hits the gluesniffers come out of the woodwork.
Kudos to you though brother, congratulations on knowing exactly what is going on behind scenes at CCP. Got Miss Cleo on speed-dial?
People like you make me sick beyond all belief, instead of giving CCP the benefit of the doubt you're tearing into them. Perhaps they're busy coding fixes and making improvements as fast as possible? Naw, we gotta immediately be controversial don't we?
It's a cryin' shame CCP has to be insulted by waterheads like yourself when they're trying to fix problems while still interacting with the playerbase, 2 responses? Hell of alot more than most other MMO players would get.
Go freak about some gnome stealing your "phat lewtz".

I do believe your personal attacks are out of place here.
Please go read the original post where Kieron says that that post will be updated with known issues. That list has not changed since the game came back. Whatever is going on 'behind the scenes' at CCP, a tiny amount of communication as things are being fixed, as the promised to do, would go a long way towards easing peoples concerns.
Cheers.

Yeah, because people work 24 hour days and cut into their productivity to come onto the forums and appease some little fool who is crying about issues CCP is well aware of.
Give them the benefit of the doubt. Their job (Except on rare occasion) is essentially thankless, they get a paycheck but almost no love from the playerbase.

If you hold the mouse over the max speed button, it no longer shows your current speed, even in warp. This is a horrible and completely pointless change. There is now no way to tell how fast your ship warps, and since there is no stat in show info on a ships warp speed, you can never tell how fast a particular ship is now, other than knowing from before when the speed indicator actually worked. How are you supposed to even know if the warp speed rigs you've just fitted are even doing anything now? Fix it, and not in Kali VI either, sooner than soon, i.e. now.
Heat UI, sucks. That is all. Some people (i.e. many many people) like to know at a glance what mods are active. That was hard to do before, and is nearly impossible now. Do you guys play wearing 3-D glasses to make the Green jump out?
I agree with these points. In ships such as interceptors and Vagabonds, knowing exactly how you are accelerating/decelerating can mean the difference between life and death. If this is some sort of "Upgrade" (lol) to make the game run faster, then its possibly one of the worst UI changes in the history of Eve. To me, its even more of a problem then not knowing what modules have activated. Which is another problem altogether.
Hell, I would work for CCP for free if I knew that 'wtf' type changes like these wouldn't make it in and thus ruin part of the Eve experience for us. Please, re-evaluate this as soon as possible.

I did an Angel Extravaganza lvl 4 tonight for Ishukone, it was a piece of cake! compared to pre revelations II It used to be 5 pockets with a few groups per pocket now it still is 5 pockets but you shoot a group and a next group spawns; this is too easy!! lvl 4 missions are supposed to be difficult! so please restore this mission thank you!

Bug in regards to Ammunition and Weapons.
Hybrid Weapons and Ammunition currently aren't calculating the values properly, if at all. For example.
Iridium vs Antimatter charges in a Hybrid weapon.
It's calculating the range bonus for the Iridium, and the negative range for the Antimatter, but not the damage bonus for the Antimatter (and perhaps the Iridium as well)
This is a rather major issue, can this be fixed within the next 24 hours? For now, it's basically free-reign on Gallente in Low Sec/0.0

hey i have just attempted to log into the game and was wondering ...is the game down as i am not sure if it me or the game is down, thanks for clearing this up
as i said to other CCP bashers like the one we seem to have here, they only got one pair of hands i would like to see you do it in a simliar situation and i bet 100% of the time they are more commited to you, they work hard keeping this game up, other games shorten the load by working on many servers so they can just close one of those down, eve is only one server and i imange that they are already on the case which is more on the case of you who was never on the case,
stop you stoooopid wining you noob and just wait for them to fix it, it a big game and so take time to find small problems but they get there in the end
