It's been quiet everywhere I go. I haven't seen a macrominer in days, has this been for anyone else or just me? I'm used to seeing crazy names of jumbled letters and numbers every belt I hit. Dunno, just thought it was kind of odd.

they're all running courier missions.
actually i did see a few but i couldnt find them in belts... my guess is they were mining either in a complex or a mission deadspace.
was somewhere in the backwater areas of The Forge or Lonetrek, cant recall

In the Hibi -> Misaba low-sec pipe there's a bunch of macro-trader/courier runners. They go back and forth with badgers and what-not all day every day.

These macro haulers in Misaba pipe, passing thru Kheram and Mista have been one of our targets during a few weeks now and they are relentlessly sending in more badgers and bestowers.
CVA have not given any comment as to their origin even tho they live with this annoying phenomena daily. We have stron reason to susepect some kind of mutal benefit or deeper involvement on their part.
Anyway, as we have been grindng these macros, some innocent pilots have been harmed in the process. Feel free to drop by to Kheram and take a look. If they where traveling in groups one would almost get the idea the accounts where acctually under leming-AI.
BTW, CVA are in charge in Kheram, keeping the area "safe". lol ** Sticks and stones will break my bones but whips and chains excite me! ** |

Could it be that the recent increase in spam is from farming corps trying to liquidate their amassed ISK , before they move to an easier MMO ? If so... it means we players made a difference !

Unfortunately there's no way to tell if they're farmers or just lazy players because they don't have the standard string of characters for names. And CVA has much better targets than AFK-haulers, as do I. <sig> IBTL! IBDS! IBTC! 1st in a BoB Post! And other such forum tom-foolery. Join my Corporation! |

There is a corporation called "Order of the 47s" that macro mines in Mackinaws in some hard to pronounce system (Ammo, Amma.. somethin) in Everyshore safe space. I find it fun to take their can holder bookmark, and wait for their lasers to stop. They then warp to a station, come back, and start mining again. Where I target lock them, and watch them warp to the station, wait 15 minutes, and log. 4 Mackinaws, 1 Indy MK III. All characters names end with 47. The two I remember are: SPIRITOF47 TRANSPORTER47
Then I go back to mining. _______________________________________________

I suspect they might have simply moved on to "Dead end" systems that are "Out of the way" to keep a lower profile.
If some are accually leaving, it would be great for those of us newer miners looking to break into the market.

Well, at least they're not mining anymore. Or rather, mining as much as they used to.

I don't get it. I mean about the inflation. If these macro miners stopped mining (something that doesn't generate new isk directly) and have moved to something thats based on NPCs awarding isk out of thin air... Wouldn't that be more likely to result in inflation?

You're right, but it was a joke I think. If macro mining lowers ore inflation, macro missioning lowers standing inflation... something along those lines.

Huh, I was just in my home system to get some Empire-chores done and noticed that we were down to just two macro-miners there. I wondered what was up. I guess we still don't know, but it's interesting to read that others have made a similar observation where they are.
I wonder if CCP's done something to them or if there's been an increase in trial-account ganking that's done it. Either way, good riddance.
And if they've moved on to Level 4 courier missions, that's fine by me. High-sec mining should be an important way for new players to get isk by making it profitable for them. Mining in general should be a viable career and moving macro'ers off to courier missions is fine by me. ------------------------------------------ 'Teh Onchinator' Personal Assistant to MrsPitman |

Edited by: Emperor D''Hoffryn on 10/04/2007 17:57:46 Ive been seeing alot of macro ratters in 0.0. Theres prolly 1 guy somewhere who moves them into position, usually 1-2 ravens per system, then lets the macro take over.
2 attempted to rat in a PIPE system 1 jump from my home system. I found a hidden belt there, and tried some mining for some quick bucks, and it was fun to watch them login then logout cause someone else was in local. Every 30 minutes, on the second - lag.
When I was ratting in my home system, every 35 minutes or so, id just jump next door, watch them insta logoff upon my entry, then Id go back to ratting. It made me laugh.
*edit*
btw, they are uncatchable and unkillable. Insta log upon entry into the system means they have no risk. Once, they were at a belt with a warp scramming spawn. It was the first belt I scanned, it was close, I warped right there. I could NOT lock the ravens, they sat in the belt for 45 seconds, then disappeared.
Ive noticed this same locking problem when people logoff while cloaked. Had a t1 frig disappear on us in a bubble, cause no one could lock it in the minute before it disappeared.
