Is there a list anywhere as to what ships we can expect to be improved or rebalanced? I seem to recall something about the minmatar carrier being improved for instance but maybe I am dreaming at this point? If there is no resource like this so far lets make one!
<- Yes, this is an alt.

Mostly 1 more turret or a little more impact for caldaris gunships, the ECM ships have a bit of a hard justifying usefulness vs suicidal.
Tristan Thorax Ares Deimos
Well all the gallante ships seem to work well cant really think of many that need improving, thorax has at least 1 less slot than the other factions combat cruisers and has trouble fitting the less slots it has, more powergrid on the deimos perhaps. Fitting problems for gallante.
Omen Apocalypse Sacrilege Damnation Vengence
Omen could use more powergrid and perhaps more drones +10m3 for 5 lights its just hard to fit, Apoc +5% cap capacity bonus? Not really satisfying for a battleship. Amarrs problems dont really lie in their ships but more lasers, too much PG for small/medium beams and a 10% cap usage bonus on all laser ships leaves them lacking in versatility a bit and VS EANM armor tanks they have it rough.
Bellicose Maelstrom Muninn Claymore Nidhoggur Naglfar
Hrm well theres a few, was pleasantly suprised when trying out a maelstrom on the test server i was expecting it to be TERRIBLE it just needs a few tweaks; its a confused ship. Minmatar have the worst capital ships i think.

Edit - This is my list of ships i think need improving i cant think of any dev response you would get for this thread. Its just too much of an open ended question.

Th most you will ever get off a dev is "we may look at it". You will NEVER (unless they are drunk or stoned) get them to commit to something because then they would be accountable to see that somethig actually happens.

So basicly all caldari ships except the missile boat line, the rokh and the rook, eh?
Sadly i agree...
However i dont see it happening, especially for the ECM line of ships. They have been nuked into uselessness and everybody seems to be happy about it.

Indeed but nerfing them to that point and still allowing the rook a better bonus doesnt seem to make sense, just makes it so you gotta fly a rook to ECM and the other ships are left in the hangar which makes some sad ships although the falcon is still nice for its cloak.
The rokh is a nice new standard for a caldari gunship.

The thorax has one less slot due to its large drone bay and the slot that it's missing compared to the other tier 3 cruisers is a non turret high slot. Giving it that high would of course not make it easier to fit (harder to be correct). I don't think the thorax needs that high but it wouldn't change that much if it got it.
What Deimos need mostly is more speed and less mass. It's the slowest hac without speed mods and second slowest with them (only eagle is slower). Not so good for a short range ship. ---------------------------------------- A Guide to Scan Probing in Revelations |

Pretty much all of the caldari railships need help. They just don't have enough guns to justify using them in their intended role. Save the Rokh that is.
I think +1 turret for all of them would be quite helpful. And a little grid on ships like the Ferox so they can actually fit all the turrets. ----------------

The only thing i can sure for sure that WILL get looked at are ALL the stealth bombers. I believe that have created too much hype about renewed usefullness of this ship (mainly for anti blob bombs) to even have the option not to.

WTF? thorax needing to be looked at? it is one of the best pvp cruisers in the game. Naglfar, Maelstrom, and claymore, again, what are you smoking.
Redo the entire Amarr line.
Merlin, moa, ferox are fine.
Just because they have problems doesnt mean they will be improved, that is part of the pros and cons.
Bellicose sucks for general pvp, thats because it is a niche ship, like the exequror. Omen is good if you have great skills. I have seen some good pilots in vengeances as well.
ECM ships may need to be tuned up a little bit, but not much. They haven't been nuked into uselessness, they just can't keep someone permajammed, they are still useful under a good pilot.
I also dont see a need to boost the tristan, its not horribly deficient under a pilot with the right skills.

Edited by: Aerowen on 08/02/2007 00:34:53 the damnation is a joke atm.
vulture: 1.10%optirange 2.10%optirange 3.shieldresis ->super sniper (200km) and still 3 gang assistance modules. -> little dmg but superrange
eos: 1.armorrepair 2.turretdmg 3.superduperdronebay ->this counts as double bonus. 250dronebay on a 7 turret (dmgbonus)ship is a joke(heavyT2 or heavyECM). what will ever beat you? ->usual range, uberdmg, hell of a tank
claymore: 1. shieldbooster 2.ROF 3.tracking ->ah well aint that good, but aint that bad. havnt thought much about it.
and now the damnation:
1. armorresi... that ok so far, all got one defensivebonus 2. 5% optirange WTF? errm..ok..ok lets see the next bonus, it might get some sense. 3. nothing (i dont count the capneed, its the most unfair bonus ingame, cause laser dont have a single advantage, that justifies the loss of a bonus.) finally the damn-nation has only 4 turretslots. so ok to summ it up. it uses a whole bonus on 4 DAMN turrets, that dont even have dmg bonus! oh but wait, thats not all there a second bonus, that goes right on the same DAMN 4 turrets.
now i have 4 turrets that cant shot very far, but cant deal any dmg either. but HEYHEY my 5 lightdrones will save me.
->no range ->no dmg ->no very special tank ->simply nothing
so the ranking is EOS >> vulture = claymore > damnation = t1BC
now a little personal opinion upon amarr: this pattern shows up by every amarr ship. this "capneedbonus" is a bad joke. If we always lose a whole bonus, simply to be able to use those "worthy" turrets, shouldnt they be somehow better then other turrets? but they arnt, they suck. worst tracking in shortrange, worst dps on longrange (through EM damagetyp). tracking advantage is a just lost, if u use t2 crystals. Ammoneed doesnt count as well, the t2 crystalls get used up and they are not for free.
u alwys have to decide, between tank and dmg, all three other races can do both at the same time. theres very little special in amarr. they got the harbinger, pilgrim/curse,... thats it. in every other class, except capitals, other races are much better.
simply sad, that ill never adivce someone to skill amarr.
/thats it whining finished.

Edited by: Susa Ou on 08/02/2007 03:25:25 Fix Minmatar Captial Ships and give the Amarr a new lease on life and things are looking better for everyone methinks.
The Gallente don't need any more help, they are fine as is. The Caldari are good as is too, they have good ships in all the ship classes except the AF line. Minmatar are the new FTOM, people clearly see nothing wrong with them. Or maby its the Nano-phoon phase of things. Amarr need some help. Across the board.
As it stands, CCP is looking at Amarr and Capital Ships (Carriers spacifically) at this moment. Everything else has not been slotted for changes as far as we know.

The only ship that I have heard someone ackgnowledging that MAY be fixed by a dev (don't remember either name or context, but whatever) is the Ferox. He said that it "probably needs another turret". That's all I heard.
No let's go off topic with the rest of them. LOL thorax... Yeah right, crap ship zomg fixfix I cannot kill my friends dread (been drinking a bit lately?). Scorpion, blackbird, falcon LOL. You mean fix *ECM* again, right? Cause as far as *SHIPS* go these are fine...

The falcon does need something. It got hit the hardest in the ecm nerf. Let's compare it to blackbird.
Pre patch the difference between a blackbird and a falcon was (ignoring slots, cloak etc that all race force recon gets) a 5% ecm strength bonus per level. Not as unique as what the other force recon get (web range, scramble range, nos amount) but still a cool bonus.
Post patch the difference is a 10% ecm cap usage per level. What a cool and unique bonus indeed...
And the strength bonus that both blackbird and falcon has is moved to force recon so in practice most falcon pilots will have less ecm strength than when they fly a blackbird so using that cap bonus to mount multispectrals is not going to be practical.
Something needs to be done to the falcon, probably change the strenght bonus to something like 15% per level so it ends up inbetween the blackbird and the rook. ---------------------------------------- A Guide to Scan Probing in Revelations |

NO ECM ships are NOT fine. ECM is fine, the ships are worthless. If by "fine" you mean "So ridiculously easy to kill, that they aren't flown" yes they are "fine". The Scorpion needs to fit 4 Signal distortion amps to reach pre-kali jamming levels. The Griffon and the Blackbird cannot reach previous levels - amazing when Tux said "There's not much wrong with ECM specific ships" in his blog before the nerf.....

I heartily agree with the moa, ferox, falcon and scorpion needing a buff. I don't have much experience with amarr ships but a general fix for lasers seems in-place as well, as are some minor ship adjustments here and there. (slot layout, sligthly more cpu/grid etc.)

There have been one statement about Khanid ships being looked at, and one statement about possibly the ferox, but that is all i know about.
Everything else here is just wild speculation.

The ECM ships are only "easy to kill" if you are stupid and warp to 0 with them.
They have something called E-C-M R-A-N-G-E bonus. You know what your average gang can do to kill an ECM boat warping at 100k jamming several of them while the rest of your gang warps close as is making mincemeat out of them? Nothing. Because unless they use long range guns they cannot even hit it.
Of cource, sniper setups can hit them (although with 2 t1 EW range rigs you can get 230k optimal on racial ECM where the only ships able to fire back are rokhs), but guess what: other EW is 100%, utterly useless at these ranges. They either retreat or die there - ECM ships can at least defend themself there.

Well yes lasers are an issue but they tie closely to the ships. With Amarr getting one of their "bonuses" on many ships being a cap reduction in the use of lasers they effectively fly with only one actual bonus compared to the two everyone else gets just so they can fire their freaking guns.
So, fix lasers in a way that Amarr ships do not need a bonus to fire their main weapons then toss their cap reduction bonus and replace with something appropriate to put them in line with other race's ships in their class.
What's more is Amarr are hugely vulnerable to NOS and tracking disruption that other races can avoid in many cases.
- Caldari: Missiles = no cap, tracking disruption useless, with FOF can't be jammed - Gallente: Drones = no cap, tracking disruption useless, once on the attack can't be jammed - Minmatar: Artie = no cap, can be tracking disrupted - Amarr: Lasers = huge cap use, tracking disrupted highly effective, being jammed highly effective, being NOSed highly effective
I realize Gallente and Caldari can use guns which somewhat bring them into the trouble areas Amarr suffer but Amarr really have few options that the other races do.

Nice, so many posts and i think 2 have actually even attempted answering the question.
The only things the devs have mentioned are the Ferox (needing a 6th turret), the Khanid range of ships (the darker coloured amarr ones) are being looked at, and stealth bomber (are being given a 'special role'. Thou the rumours of them getting the alility to launch high-velocity fedos has just been madde up by me.
The devs did mention carriers but that was in realation to the 500% hp boost that they got in revalations.
