Edited by: Avon on 06/02/2007 18:37:32 Well, well, well, what do we have here?
Could it be that my predictions are comming true?
Avon was right, again?!!
Jeez.
Look, can flagging was always a bad idea, but whingy carebears cried for it over and over and over and over and over and over again. Anyone who pointed out that it was a bad idea was automatically an ebil PK grief player.
Well, you got your wish.
Cry more. Seriously.
What we have here are miners who, basically, want to be able to effectively increase their mining yield (in this case by reducing the chance of loss), because they stupidly think that doing so will increase their income.
Do they look ahead (why start now) to see what an increased mineral supply will do to the prices?
Of course not, they are unable to see past the end of their strip miners.
Let's not beat around the bush here. Some of those ebil PK grief players know best.

How about we just make it impossible to put ore in a jet-can?
Problem solved.

How about we just remove mining from the game entirely?
Problem solved.
How about we adjust ammo sizes, cargo holds, and capacitor sizes so that combat ships can only fire their weapons twice without redocking to load more ammo?
That would balance the situation for both sides...
It may have escaped you, but I wasn't being entirely serious.

Have you actually taken Economics 101? Just a cute catch phrase?
Ok, say the price of minerals goes down, and the price of the stuff built "goes down". Since you're losing less raw materials to theft, you can produce more - and make up the loss.
In theory, anyway. Useless theory, but hey - that's Economics 101. It really gets interesting at the 200 level.
Increasing the supply also lowers the price.
