I can't seem to find a set of implants that give a bonus to shield HP so I'm guessing there isn't any. So my idea is that there should be a set of implants (low, mid and high grade) that improve shield HP. |

Biggest obstacle for that is getting shield recharge ratio balanced. Shield is not just buffer.
Related: ORE should have a Hull HP set.

If they get introduced, you need also to introduce armor crystal sets, that needs to be balanced as well, especially when using the appropriate drugs. |

And ofcourse they dont want it that way... Armor is for buffer and shield is for active in the current design space...
There is a difference between armor and shield tanking and this is good... |

Yeah and if were into that i want and Invu for armor tanking. Both tanking systems have their benefits. They should not be the same.

Armor does have invuln. Called EANM. No cap usage, lower fitting than invuln. Has slightly less resist compared to OH invuln. Some would say thats a fair trade off. Not to mention RAH also gives 15% across the board before things start shooting you. Then it can adjust to some pretty high levels.
As to OP, i think its been brought up before. Armor is buffer (slaves), shield is more active style tanking (hence crystals). |

would break half the ships and most PvE content. all level 5 missions would be doable with passive nighthawks/bustards again, sleeper sites, escalations...

One thought would be to have even the low grade alpha penalise shield regen by 100%?
Granted there's the line of thought that if the implants need this penalty to not be broken then they shouldn't exist in the first place but still I'm putting it out for discussion.

Can see a number of reasons why a shield version of the slave set would cause some issues but wouldn't harm IMO to have a 2nd shield hp bonus implant for slot 10 - maybe a faction or storyline variant with a 6-7% bonus. |

Why do people always come up with these so-called "problems" to things when the solution is staring them in the face so hard their eyeballs are touching? Just give a shield recharge penalty to the shield HP implants! ffs. |

I as a caveat would accept restriction to caps only. Maybe have the downside of nerfing shield regen to the ground as well to appease those who would whine well now they have crystals and these. I'd do this to avoid the future whines of shield gets crystal and these.
since cap and higher only it on have to factor in mimmatar and caldari cap/mommie/titan stats. Not a massive coding fest I'd say off hand. And well...we can argue minmatar is prenerfed already since one could think of many reasons to run armour over shields on them now. So....it be downsides that for sure gimp caldari, rest trickle down from this . Nerfs that hurt the 2 shield cap races barring a wtf are smoking fit should gimp the armour tankers if they tried to run them. And I am not seeing the armor caps rolling out in SPR only lows to work around this lol.
And the cap only implementation not a coding stretch....it be a rewrite of the code that has crystals turned off in caps. |

Or implant sets to improve armor resist. I'd like both those and the shield buffer ones if we are making a wish list. |
