What is your opinion about this?
Personally, I think it sucks. So long yet another emergent playstyle, all for the sake of the carebears who couldn't be bothered to do the proper checks.
And to the ISD, this is NOT a change that was in Proteus, it was only just announced on the O7 stream... |

My position is that it should entail an additional 10% tax to CONCORD for this sudden increase in safety.
CCP should also patch out dec dodging, or officially rule it as an exploit, since they are removing the major way to get at people who abuse the corp creation mechanics to dec dodge.
That, or just officially announce Trammel. Highsec is such a special snowflake amongst security status mechanics that it might as well be a different game already.

Love the change. Hopefully it will lead to some elements of EVE unsubscribing and never coming back. Fingers crossed! |

Ummm this is gonna happen next release ISD... why should we direct our discussion to the proteus release thread??
Why cant we have a thread on this topic? Just want to hush us up and slide the change through? |

It'll be interesting to see the details on the option to turn intercorp aggression on and off, particularly what roles are needed in order to do so and how often it can be done.
I envision this conversation happening at some point:
"Hey, Bill, could you help me check my tanking abilities? I turned on the shooty thing for the corp. Bring something with a lot of damage, gimme a real work out!" "Alrighty, I'll bring my pimped out mission boat. Thing packs a punch!" *Concord murders Bill. Bill's corpmate scoops loot* *Bill is kicked from corp by corpmate* "Hey John, can you help me check my tanking abilities?"

From direct csm summer meating quotes and other quotes.....
The entire ONLY REASON FOR THIS CHANGE. Is player retention...
Ccp says their statistics show that people that stay in npc corps quit eve faster and more often than those in player corps.. They also say the reason newbros cant join said retention-helping-hisec-carebear corps is cuz they wont recruit due to corpmate violence fears.
So ccp thinks the way to retain players is to encourage hisec carebear corps to want to recruit newbros more and thinking away corpmate shooting will solve this and then retain more newbros and give more rl dollars in ccps hands....
Ccp cant you see this logic is flawed?? Some csm dudes even tried to say so. Wtf is the poijt of them is you dont listen?? This vhange and gonna increase RETENTION 1% IF ANYTJING GONNA MAKE OLDVETS QUIT MORE.

Hopefully Concord sends out a mail to members of the corp when each change happens. If someone is too dumb to quickly check that before aggressing, then they deserve everything they get. |

The nature of awoxing is as such that they will always find a way to awox they as pilots are adept at finding weaknesses in the system
and this is normally people.
for example I run a corp and I tried put every guard I could find, From the careful control of roles, limiting of access to resources ect ect..
basically all financial decisions had to pass by me and this was told to every member of the corp apon their joining.
well one day a loan was asked by a trustworthy if a little bit na+»ve source too borrow enough isk to purchase a Obelisk to the tune of 1.3 bill, this was extended to him.
Now the awoxer in question simply wielded his director position to momentarily "borrow " said Obe via a polite request saying that it was needed for corp operations and persisted coercing when I was not on, indicating tha time was of the essence...quite brilliant
Feeling obligated due to the loan from me the Obe pilot lent his obe to Awoxer who then sold it and then griefed one of the other directors making it clear he had gotten what he had come for.
he left my corp with the tune of about 3 bill as more isk had been extended to him before hand and it nearly destroyed the fledgling corp...this was embarrassing but I learned a great deal from this awoxer as to their more recent tactics I bear him no ill will for this simple reason
"he even told me he was going to do it"
of course this had been a running joke for a couple of weeks beforehand and so my guard relaxed
he very nearly had me convinced that his actions were for the best of the corp...yet could not wait until the loan was repaid before doing so and so his permanent ban was set in place
awoxing is not dead it has simply evolved into a game of patience and vocal persuasion
I love this game |

Because there is no dueling in this game, right? Oh wait...

First remove grief decs, they are far more exploity. Then we can talk about "exploit" of a 24 hour stasis pos takedown office unrenting corp hangar moving roles resetting tremendous PITA of a corp dropping you dare to call "exploit".

I think this will just increase the quality of awoxing to fit with the new mechanics proposed.
Want to awox? Spy your way into corp roles, or just cata your way to victory anyway. Or go for the old lowsec lure (OMG YOU GUYS, WE SHOULD TOTALLY DO A LOWSEC MINING OP). |

The amount of player subscription cash thrown down the pan, ergo misspent on dust and vampires - has kind of forced ccp to water down eve as a result of those bad decisions and forward planning due to financial considerations.
That said, sitting on the fence, new player retention isn't a bad thing.
60K people online again vs an average of 30k surely means x2 the chance of random occurrences in the sandbox for each and all, regardless of profession.
In fairness, bucking the trend and reversing the damage while trying to maintain the old playerbase, and the new - never going to be plain sailing.
Regardless of the side of the coin, another ten years of Eve is surely what we'd all like to see happen?
