Yep, content typo.
Originally by: SengH 2. TP + MWD
This is far more likely to be a code issue. The properties of the TP and the MWD were correct, it was how the stacking equation was combining them that was the problem. I doubt the content team would have spec'ed for it to work in the buggy way, hence the fault was with the programmer.
Originally by: SengH 3. Dreadnought Cyno's not working
This was a problem with cross-node comms, hence a programmer issue.
Originally by: SengH 4. Cyno + Cloak
This is a problem with the exclusive-module code, not the content itself.
Originally by: SengH Unbalanced attributes/Incorrect attributes can cause more problems than you realise. Ie. if your ROF goes below 1s, EVE starts losing packets.

I'm working on some of the "lag" related to starbase structures at the moment, but that has almost nothing to do with testing until it's finished and ready for it.

Players werent allowed to test capital ships at all. No fault of ours. And CCP hasnt learned. We will not be able to test the new ships in kali according to the sticky in GDF. We werent able to test the new t2 ships either resulting in the recon bug too which persists to this day.

So your saying the content department, created a ship exclusively for using cloak and cyno, and never bothered to even test the ship at all.

You're assuming that a dev working on a given issue/bug/lag results in an improvement to said issue/bug/lag... I'm not entirely sure the 2 are correlated...

Apparently one of the prerequisites for becoming an EVE dev is you have to be an alcoholic. That seems to be all they are capable of talking about.
Maybe if you looked at the sticky in the Game Development forum, you would have seen the updates about Kali1 testing. Or were you too busy drinking?
Your reply makes no sense. I think maybe you are the one drinking. The point is they've been promissing to get the servers more stable for years. They've only gotten worse.

He was too busy trolling. If he bothered to read anything, he'd have informed posts, and that's something most people seem to dislike these days.
What's to be informed about? Same ol bugs. Same ol server lag. I read the forums everyday and all I see is the usual empty promisses.

Because testing new ships inevitably means no-one bothers with anything else. Besides, the Dread issue is something that may well not have shown up on sisi anyway, it being a horrible cross-node thing (with sisi having so few nodes, the likelihood of someone randomly trying a cross-node jump is quite low). Oh, and they have already stated that they know how to fix the recon bug, but that it's a low-level change that may break a lot of other stuff, so they have to wait for the right oppourtunity to try and put it in.
Besides, there's actually very little reason to need to test the new kali ships, as there's no new "coding" functionality in any of them. People are going to rip the stats out straight away anyway, so they'll still get to review those and point out any obvious decimal points in the wrong place etc.

No, I'm saying that the content department would have given the ship the right slots, fittings etc to do what they wanted it to do. They would then have passed things to the programmers with the instruction that using a cyno and cloak on it at the same time should work. At that point, getting it working, and making sure it does work, is down to the programming side.
Besides, maybe they did know before they released it that cloak+cyno didn't work. We know that the fix to it is a major one, so not something they could just neak in before patch day. Therefore, they have a choice. Either they release the ships, which can be used for other things too, with the bug in that one function. Or they hold the ship as a whole back for an indeterminate length of time.
I'm pretty sure all the people using those ships very successfully right now are very happy that they were released, rather than sent back to "pending" hell. ------- There is no magic Wand of Fixing, and it is not powered by forum whines. |

Cheap Beer...Texas. Please tell me you didn't drink Texas's own Lonestar Beer. I made the mistake by drinking that ultra cheap beer when I was in Texas a year ago today. I'm still going to the doctor to get my digestive system working right after that.

Why not just change POS to a normal station graphic with facilities available in the standard station view if theyre installed?
I really dont get the reason you need to have all those objects and a big laggy shield bubble at a POS.
