Today's patch didn't fix anything at all. Still getting constant flicker freezes.
I noticed I crashed when I putted my mouse over the lots of ships and station in space. Maybe this is the cause of the flicker freeze?
Can we receive an update on what will be done next?

I run the eve launcher, login and enter the program. It begins to load the hanger and freezes. I cannot force quit, I must turn off my entire computer.
My original problem, as I stated, was that after a short period of gameplay everything would "lock up." By lock up, I mean that i could not warp, dock, turn on modules, lock items, chat, etc. I could still spin the camera, move the mouse over items and have the cursor change, and sometimes even open up boxes (character screens, mail) but the boxes would never load, they would simply open up with no content within them. I was sometimes able to force quit the application when I had this problem, other times I would have to turn off my computer.
After I followed the eve support ticket's instruction, also stated above, the client now simply freezes upon opening the game with no ability to force quit.
Just wanted to clarify my specific issue that I believe others here also have. I have never received a black screen. When my client freezes, the graphics stay up, they just do not progress.
I run version 10.7.5 of Mac OS X from a MacBook Air. Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB.
Another update:
I turned off load station environment and turned my graphical settings to low. This actually allowed me to get past the initial loading when logging on. Everything seemed to be working, but again after about 5 minutes of gameplay, I ran into my initial problem. Client locks up, cannot turn off/on modules, warp, dock, chat, etc. So, I have come full circle.
I would advise people to try to make these same edits to their graphical settings and see if it gets them past freezing. I still can't play the game but at least I can update my skills.

No change. Since technically I'm below spec I'm buying a new computer - if that doesn't help I guess I'll have to quit EVE (and warn other Mac users against joining). |

Worst case, CCP may just say to us that Anything of 330M or below is no longer supported anymore since it's the 330m, 320m and 9400m receiving problems. Shame really I hope it doesn't go that far since I paid for a sub only just recently and I'd really hate to stop playing EVE after playing for almost 2 years with no problems.
Lets just really hope CCP finds a fix to this first. Or tell them to reverse everything to before the 1.1 Rubicon patch. |

So I broke down and setup my other Mac, which is a mac mini, to run Eve.
The Mac Mini has an Intel HD 3000 graphics card installed as opposed to the NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 on my Mac Pro. On the Mac Mini I get to the character selection screen, am able to select a character and the UI almost loads completely. While the game is loading, the word "LOADING" phases in and out on the screen but after a minute or so, the word stops phasing and the computer locks up just like on my mac pro. On the Mac Pro I get to the character selection screen and it locks up there before I can select a character.
So the games progresses further on the Mini than on the Pro but in the end they both need hard resets.
It is not only the 330m, 320m, and 9400m receiving problems but a wide variety of graphics cards and setupsGǪ |

Yeah I can progress into the game but in space I get the flicker crashes. I seem to progress further but just can't fly in space.

I snagged the system log files during the crash, they seem pretty similar to the other log files that have been posted:

After this failure I was forced to hardboot, cmd+option+shift+esc couldn't recover, as well as cmd+option+esc.
I'll search the web to see if there's any kind of update or patch for OpenGL on our graphics card. It's hitting a parse error which shouldn't be too hard to fix some data is not being handled correctly so yeah maybe there's an update we're all missing for some reason. |

Thing is the person above said he is getting lock ups with an Intel HD 3000 graphics card as well, so for some reason it doesn't seem it's an Nvidia problem. Maybe it has something to do with OpenGL. |

What I realized is, the longer I wait for selecting a char when loading finishes, the worse it gets, so when I quickly press Esc and go out of this menu again, and then click into the back screen where the chars should be, it logs me in without any issue, can play, undock do anything. But as soon as I wait in the char selection screen for longer then 5-10 sec then it is over.
I will try to reproduce the graphic issue again later, but I think the char selection screen start a call which ends in an endless loop causing this, the only way to circumwent this is to get as fast out of the char selection screen as possible. The question is which call is it which the char selection screen starts causing this bug. |

So just reporting the patch today had zero effect for me.. Get to the character selection screen and it's just black. Noted a few people talking about blind clicking to activate a character but that seems impossible for me.. Tried and nothing. In the interest of trying to help CCP find the problem is there some othe commonality to the problem aside from the fact we all have older graphics cards.
I have 3 characters. Does everyone having the same black screen issue have 3 or something else?
My set up:
Osx 10.9.1 2009 iMac 2.66GHz intel core 2 duo 4Gb ram NVDIA GeFOrce 9400 with 256MB
All working fine until last Monday? Patch

OK found a way in.
Have reported it to CCP maybe will help fix it properly.
So bypass the launcher by right clicking your normal eve start up ion, choose show package contents-->contents-->-->resources should be a familiar looking eve icon. Double click and you have the 'old' launch screen where you put your log in details at the bottom.
Then you will get the lovely black screen of death but now you can 'blind click' on where your character would be the familiar sounds go off in the background.
Wait....
Still a black screen BUT now alt-tab back to your desktop (which before I could not do using normal launcher)
THEN
alt-tab back to Eve and you should get your station environment, if its like mine it is horribly messed up - you can see your ship but the station is a horrible gold artefact...BUT undock, everything looks OK,,,,re-dock and everything is back to the way it used to be,
Not perfect but at least you can get in and update training plans, market orders, etc, etc.
The game is still there & messing around gets you in which proves the problems must be fixable - something to do with method calls at start up that are throwing the Nvdia cards into a loop.
Finally happy after being without Eve for a week & a half. !! |

Yeah all these solutions to just 'get us into eve' and we can't even fly in space properly still
Hopefully there will be some sort of update soon on fixing everything of this issue. |

I'm new to the game and for the first few days where I was actually able to play, I really enjoyed it. Enough to seperate myself from my cold hard cash for plex and actual game time. So at this point, that's all money down the drain. Not happy and will have to look into a refund now because this is crap. |

I have still the problem (or even worse)
While I was able to play eve by blindclicking on the black character screen, the game loaded after several minutes. Strange, that till today-¦s patch one account worked completely normal (same computer, same programm .... so WTF!!!)
Today, every account is showing the black character screen, while my prime account crashes after character blind selection.... no play possible any more with my prime. |

I can confirm that!
mbp with nvidia,
my main char's profile pic was recently updated, if i select that game crashes. i have other 2 chars on the same account (caldari & gallente) with old profile pics, I can play with them without any trouble.
graphic settings are the very same.
must be this or because i'm minmatar. |

Yep, same here. Main character was working sort of until the current situation where its freeze and lock-up IF one can get the bloody launcher to work. As far as my second character is concerned, couldn't even get past the logging in pages. I would like to know how many thousands of players paying tens/hundreds of thousands of dollars/pounds/euros in REAL money into this game are being affected by this. It seems to me that CCP is NOT doing as much as it could do. The fixes that have been proposed to me by regulators, game devs and moderators have all failed and it appears that right now, CCP is behaving like a headless chicken in respect of finding a solution to a clearly major problem. Sort it out guys, and then REFUND US!!!! |

Tar-Palantir too has been having this problem repeatedly on one of his two Macs. The Fall 2009 iMac he has repeatedly suffers from this problem while his Spring 2008 Mac Pro with an EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 does not. The specific iMac model is iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2009) .
http://support.apple.com/kb/SP576
Tar-Palantir has replicated these problems on 2 different iMacs of that model. Both were purchased at the same time in the same batch of 70 some iMacs. The problems have happened in Mac OS X 10.6.8 and in Mac OS X 10.7.5 . He is working on getting a copy of 10.9.1 installed to test under, but that isn't done yet. Tar-Palantir has installed Mac OS X 10.7.5 from scratch on a blank partition with no imported accounts (i.e. all settings etc started from scratch). Tar-Palantir has also wiped the settings folders manually (~/Library/Application Support/EVE Online and any Eve, CCP, and Cider related plist files in ~/Library/Preferences - not sure any of those are actively used anymore, but had 1 or 2 still laying around) when using local accounts that already had Eve settings. Have also tried copying a Eve settings folder tree from the working Mac Pro to the non-working iMacs. The Eve client was freshly copied over from the Mac Pro where it works fine. Have not been able to install a fresh client - lack the bandwidth for such a download. In all cases/testing, the results have been similar. If you launch the Eve client from the Launcher, it launches the main Eve client, you get the 3 different loading bars as it authenticates, loads bulk data, and the 3rd load, it then goes to a black black screen when the character selection screen should load. In 10.7.5 you can hear the character selection screen music playing. If Tar-Palantir blindly clicks in the right spot, he can get a character to load and can hear it load in station. The screen remains black. If you directly launch the Eve Client from inside of the application bungle, you get the old school Eve client login screen. You authenticate there, and after that, the results are the same as the launcher. Loading bars, followed by a blank black character selection screen. If you put the client into Windowed mode before logging in, you get the black loading screen inside of the Eve client window when it gets to loading the character selection screen, but the rest of the screen flashes in patterns of black as well. You can still click outside of the Eve client window and interact with some elements, but your graphics layer is fundamentally corrupt and will eventually stop responding if you don't kill the Eve client. In all of the above, you may or many not be able to force quit the Eve client. Sometimes you can, sometimes you can't. Using command line UNIX "kill" via a remote ssh session is equally hit or miss. If it doesn't work, ps shows the Eve client process in U (uninterruptible) status.

During this, /var/log/system.log doesn't show anything particularly interesting beyond the Eve launcher launching and doing its thing. However, there is quite a bit in /var/log/kernel.log (if you are running Mac OS X 10.7.5). Below is a selection from one of those events when running Mac OS X 10.7.5. It repeats over and over a couple of cycles per second.
