It is faster, especially when angle of rotation is not big (below 60 degrees or sth like that) difference is clearly visible.
I guess "good job" is in order and +1 like for you, sir. I am not my skills but... http://eveboard.com/pilot/Schmata_Bastanold |

Cheers, DZ I definitely appreciate the changes to speed, although now when a new item is selected the camera makes a "jump" in orientation and then moves smoothly for the rest of its travel. It's more easily noticeable when the new sections are an appreciably large angle away from the previous.
As far as the other changes, excellent work. My EVE Videos |

It's still linked to FPS although the camera speed is a bit faster than before. With V-Sync off there is still a significant speed increase.
Another thing which bothers me is the automatic zooming to your ship while tracking camera is switched on. I think this was disabled on the previous Sisi build. Since I'm playing zoomed out with tactical overlay I was very happy about the change.
Could you please introduce an option to switch off the zooming in tracking modus? Or is there another way to do it?

I'm not sure if this is related to the tracking camera, but the camera is always completely zoomed in on my ship whenever I undock. It's somewhat annoying. I'll file a bug report for it later today.

I hate keyboard shortcuts - I recline when I pay Eve and can't reach my keyboard, period.
So make damn clickable buttons in the overview to turn tracking on/off and the same for drone commands. Buttons that are there all the time and are not hidden in a sub-menue - it's too much clicking right now.
Screw the damn keyboard shortcuts. Only propeller heads that like command line interfaces use them.
And what is this damn D-Scan spamming - make it repeat automatically. CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK WTF !!!!

I think all of this is just great! Awesome work! But, you're missing just one feature...and I would really love to see it... How about just locking the viewpoint? Like you did in the demo with the asteroid showing the polygon counts? How hard would it be to just lock the view on our ship so the we are always looking forward or aft or port or starboard?
Thank you! |

Thanks for the feedback so far. We're taking a look at the FPS issue and have identified at least one more component of the motion where this is in play.

Please keep the checkbox in the D-Scan...... I dont like using the keyboard or radial menu... and your mouse is already in the d-scan window if your using it, so its much easier to use. There is no reason whatsover to remove it.... I use that checkbox dozens of times a day, its right where its supposed to be.
Thank you., |

i am happy that the checkbox isn't there anymore. Saves a few pixels and lets you display more actual information instead - without losing functionality.
btw since you are probably looking at the code for that right now. Could you link the camera sway to the "disable camera shake option"? eve style bounties (done) dust boarding parties imagine there is war and everybody cloaks - join FW |

improved tracking camera works fine and the higher speed is more than welcome. thx :D i even find the use of the on/off shortcut button better than the checkbox, which i didn't believe possible. good job! |

I still think you should give us some sweet little improvements to d-scan window. Nothing complicated, slider with bigger steps for smaller angles and either converter km/AU or at least editbox with list of recent values. I bet it would take you up to an hour and gain eternal love from players. I am not my skills but... http://eveboard.com/pilot/Schmata_Bastanold |

The current logic causing this has been in for a while and we haven't changed it for 1.1.
The tracking camera stops tracking when you have zoomed out a certain distance, when you pick a new target to track, the camera zooms in so you can see your ship along with the target.
Im assuming that the original reasoning behind this logic was that it can be confusing to be tracking moving targets when you are very zoomed out, since if the target is close to the ship, the camera would spin a lot. And if we would keep the tracking disabled because you are so zoomed out, it might be confusing as well.
After thinking about this and seeing your feedback this behavior could be more confusing than actually just skipping disabling the tracking camera at all, no matter how far you zoom, and skip the zooming in as well. |

Mentioned early, building on it. Can we get like a cinematic camera that gets locked where it is like in the poly count demo? Maybe even a free floating camera?
As well for tracking camera, can there be a minimal distance or option to set focus and then not have the camera move between everything I select? When targeting drones for repairs or fast moving frigs the camera freaks out and visually the game goes to crap as it flies around at scout drone mwd speed.
Please keep the d-scan tracking option in d-scan. That's logically placed. Easy to learn for newer people.
So list: always track same target? Cinematic camera (disables all HUD lets me lock camera in relation to "look at") D-scan tracking option in d-scan window. |
