Edited by: TempToon on 01/01/2006 06:46:08 Not much to say other than the title. It seems that we can no longer reprocess 'new' mining crystals..Anyone know why?

Asside from the fact that it somewhat defeats the purpose of degrading them? I imagine this was something intentional.

He means if a crystal is unused, it is impossible to recycle them. That is, a crystal that is not degraded.

Isn't it funny how we read what we think the person is asking. You're right, it does say new in there.
Appology.
In that case I would imagine it's because instead of writing code like this...
if(crystal_dmg > 0) rprcs = FALSE; else rprcs = TRUE;
The code is more like
if (mining_crystal) rprcs = FALSE;
Over simplified of course, but just a general guess.

NO..it has nothing to do with them degrading. You could refine them all along the way..until the RMR patch.

And it got changed because you could use the crystal to 95% damage and still refine it for full refine value. Therefore you got the use of the crystal, and you got (most of) it's mineral value back at the end. With decent skills and a BPO, someone could get use from crystals for a fraction of the intended cost.

I understand why you can't refine crystals that have been used.Once a crystal has been used, it will no longer stack. But I have stacks of crystals sitting here that have never even been 'assembled' and you can't reprocess those either...that makes no sense. One of the purposes of the scrapmetal reprocessing skill is that you can try out an item on the market and if it doesn't work, you can take the item back apart and lose no minerals in the deal. But now i've got stacks of crystals sitting here that i can do nothing with.....

Crystals r a joke.Now they cant be reproccessed they must be one of the biggest isk losers in the game.I was unfortunate to buy all the bpos and make large stocks of all types.I have only ever been able to sell these crystals at well less than their production cost and now i cant even get my minerals back.I estimate my losses at at least 50mill isk plus the cost of the bpos which r now worthless
