As much as I understand the additional income would be a boon, maybe even a necessity to CCP, and thus would not freak and quit if they went the Cosmetic Only route (the Yes route I wouldn't need too, I'm fairly certain EVE would just destabilise and die anyway), I still feel I have to say No on this one.
One of EVE's best components is that the roleplay element of MMORPG is actually unavoidable. Sure there are those who take it to the next level (such as myself where possible) and create and play out the actions of detailed characters, but even the most lol-toon-haxorz echelons of the player-base are a part of a living, responsive universe whose nature is determined almost wholly by the events going on within.
Microtransactions of any sort would be the equivalent of breaching the fourth wall in a serious sci-fi drama or the like. The moment you reach in to make changes directly from the outside world (IE: with money) you immediately compromise many of the game's virtues. Sure, not to a major extent but the very idea of that just doesn't sit well with me.
...
Though on a bizarre note I just had the idea of CCP offering, for an increase in subscription fee, an 'adults only' mode for Incarna. Whew o.O

Cosmetic YES
As this will open the opportunity for CCP to allow external intelectual property to be permitted in game. Ie Hello Kitty Titans. The Micro transaction will permit CCP to buy the rights to post Hello Kitty Products in game on a per user basis giving royalty to the Company who owns the rights to Hello Kitty.
I do believe though an Isk option should also be available to purchase these goods. Opening another Isk Sink.
I want more developers in the game and if Bob A who wants All of his fleet to be Winter Camo is going to pay for that developer at $1 a pop. then Sure!
The game has to change with the market. Otherwise it will fade.

Absolutely NOT.
Also:
Originally by: T'Amber you do not mind 12yearolds stealing their parents money because they're so crap at the game that they need to buy more animals for their farm.. because you can then you blow em up and take all their stuff!!
Hope you meant that in general. I was twelve not long ago and I definitely NOT crap at EVE. In fact I am pretty successful in EVE. I am different from other "younglings". Bots should be punished harshly and they should never be used in eve I don't care if its for the market. Let the market truly show the player prices and not the bot prices and players having to fight the prices to sell their item

Micro transaction will for the alpha period increase gain for CCP. But because mostly players wouldn't like it implemented, longevity of EvE would be in danger. Because income generation from current base of players will be diminished. In phase beta it will affect quality of gameplay for those who use mct, make it undesirable. Gamma phase would make EvE FTP in hope that it will lure more players in game. But because in EvE all things are obtainable for purchase with RL cash, except knowledge. Most of lured players would find EvE r inhospitable. place with mean players who would want to exploit them. Claiming vanity items for themselves or only destroying them for "fun" will not keep enough players to make EvE, again profitable.
As could be seen in current figures, differences in percent of finished trials compared with new subscriptions are wast.
In Delta phase EvE could be profitable at the same level as before, but with new playerbase in place of current one.
Conclusion: it wouldn't benefit players or CCP.

While cosmetic only would not break it game it would annoy me having to pay ú1 every time a new update came out releasing something that would better suit my character.

Resounding "NO!"
If implemented, I'll probably make use of whatever game time I have left, then leave EVE. I will miss this nice in-depth game. The only MMO I've ever played, I might add. I vote for cosmetic microtransactions only. Maximum wnat is possible: Only visual changes! And NOTHING else! Or Game will turn to crap.
P.S. Actually I would vote "No way!"

Go ahead and mess up a perfectly good game.
All these votes for cosmetic microtransactions only are just opening the door for ccp to implement microtransaction into all aspects of the game at a later time. "VOTE NO"
Who in the hell would want to see pink ships flying around, or a noob killing off vet players just because they put $200 into a ship. Again I say "VOTE NO"

YES, id like to see more to0 fast skilled up pilots cause they bought a f*kton of neural remaps, flying expensive ships bought with plex, without the heads to use em. in the end they can jsut buy a lot of plex and buy a toon.. so it makes no difference.
tbh that **** would make for more **** to shoot at, and a happy ccp that makes more rl isks.. which would make for a better game... as we all know happy employees, work harder :)

COSMETIC ONLY
I can agree with micro ISK (!) transactions for let's say changing or adding to your character. However I would propose that large content updates (let's say a large new set of character cloths or accessories) should be available for free when it's released. Then after let's say a week you'll have to pay some isks to change your avatar.
I really don't know what else could be done at this point other then avatar customization, but I would be against only being able to use features like stationwalking or planetary interaction if you paid for it (monthly extra fee or something).
I'll need to see some concrete plans before completely dismissing or agree-ing with micro transactions. It's a tough topic.

òVote No - you think that because you pay a set fee each month that you should have access to all the options and features ingame that everyone else gets
There are enough silly games like maplestory and what not that do this already, micro transactions would add nothing to game play.
