I would say 'Nay' ECM drones are a hidden gem, nice things to use. Quite a few brutixes I know would like to talk to you with 5 med ECM drones (my favourite in this is the celestis though with sig damp scripts)

It is possible, by doing the same trick yourself. A dual nos tristan with blasters does quite a bit of damage and can keep your repper alive, a dual neut might kill his repper and damage, but will eat cap charges, then you might consider rails ins...

What is needed here is a balancing factor. If a faction becomes more economically viable because it is winning, people will flock to it and thus put a sledge to the scales. I'd say that a bigger faction should have a dimishing return, and a smal...

I have never suicided, but have been suicided. I think it is working well, as far as I know sec status also decides response time, so if you hate it, fit a tank and only play 1.0.

Nebulae should be a bit more logical, there is a nebula visible in metropolis for example, this should be visible in sinq, a few darker regions wil make the nebulated regions visible and more interesting.

If you are not sure whether you can tank is, kill frigates first, no matter what dps the rest might dish out, two clicks with a flight of light t2 drones would have saved a lot of trouble.

With the cons you are missing killing your standing vs an empire faction, concentrating around too few systems (thus easily campable) and the fact that only gallente get them, otherwise you are fine.
