1. Need help, new to Linux. - in Linux [original thread]
In ubuntu, you can make it executable by right clicking, going to properties, then in permissions tab there is a tic box (allow execute) or something similar.

2. Ubuntu 11.10 from USB - can this be done for EVE? - in Linux [original thread]
I haven't installed recently using this method so I didn't know the 18gb install requirement. Copying should work just fine.

3. Ubuntu 11.10 from USB - can this be done for EVE? - in Linux [original thread]
Yes it's possible with a 16gb stick or larger. I've done it with a bootable ubuntu (that is not read only) Starts a bit slower, but works just fine. The first bit is the hard one, after you have that though, just install eve on linux as normal ...

4. [LOAN] 1 Billion, 3 Months, 5% per month (Possible Collateral) - in Market Discussions [original thread]
I talked to Esan, everything is a go using Shar, the contract was put up yesterday to complete the transaction.

5. [LOAN] 1 Billion, 3 Months, 5% per month (Possible Collateral) - in Market Discussions [original thread]
I have a concern about using Shar, why does it only cost 1 million isk? Who does anything this valuable in eve for 1 million isk? For the time involved, you could make 5-10m isk just shooting rats.

6. dual client: ram draining? - in Linux [original thread]
I don't think my wine is that up to date, perhaps there is a memory leak issue.

Esan, I would like to take you up on your offer, name your third party. I will make it easier by just starting with market value implants as collateral instead of worrying about this exchange thing.

8. [LOAN] 1 Billion, 3 Months, 5% per month (Possible Collateral) - in Market Discussions [original thread]
In real life terms, a 5% montly interest rate is 60%APR. Just pointing out that technically that makes it a CRIMINAL act according to the Canadian Criminal Code - http://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/C-46/page-160.html#h-98 Not enough reward...

That's why I plan on having the Collateral with a third party. So you can't run off with it unless I don't pay. What stops anyone who asks for a Loan from walking off with the money and letting you keep the collateral? That's the whole point of c...

11. [LOAN] 1 Billion, 3 Months, 5% per month (Possible Collateral) - in Market Discussions [original thread]
Esan, what valuation would I get for existing stock if I am using it as collateral? Are you willing to go with current market price? Also, are you willing to do this through a third party (they hold the stock)?

12. dual client: ram draining? - in Linux [original thread]
As you mentioned earlier, each clients takes around 800MB to run, I've never seen it go over that. So unless you do have something running in the background, you should never hit swap. 1.6/7gb(Eve) + 600/700MB(Base system) = 3.4 GB max, with an e...

16. [LOAN] 1 Billion, 3 Months, 5% per month (Possible Collateral) - in Market Discussions [original thread]
Obviously you do not understand investing. My time will be used in obtaining 1 billion worth of implants, it's not like you can just put a single buy order up for that quantity. For you, it's a simple transfer, with a cash payout in three months....

Its not a perfect conversion, you always lose something, but on my quad core machine with a Nvidia 260 I can max FPS on two clients with low settings.
