101. Learning about skills - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Evemon doesn't require logging into the game at all to use the skill/item/ship browsers. It does pull your data from the web page that CCP publishes for each char...if you can surf this site from work, it can reach it. I'm not anything but a very...

103. 7 days to convince me - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
There are many casual corps. Look in the recruiting forum here and/or the channel in game. Chat with folk who are recruiting and be honest about your playtime constraints.

104. 7 days to convince me - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Have you considered joining a player corp? If not yet, go over to the Corp Recruiting forum and find one of the ones that takes on new players, especially the ones that promise a "gateway to 0.0". You may start as cannon fodder, but (and here's a...

106. revalations or all of EVE - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Indeed. To clarify, you're never in a situation where someone else has bought "Space Ruins of Coonark" and you can't fly into the "Nebula of Ill Omen" because you didn't order the expansion. Everyone has full access to all content once they are pa...

107. Sent To Low Sec at Level 1 - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
I'll echo what some others have said: 1. The corp I joined my first week had a 0.4 system right next door. The local level 1 agents LOVED to send me there. 2. For all the times I've been in lowsec, I've been locked on once (I escaped) and podded...

108. Tutorial missions worth doing for alt? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
If I recall, the tutorial missions lead to a contact that gives you a series of missions resulting in an implant worth perhaps 100-300k if you were to buy it yourself. So many people would consider that worth doing.

109. Do you have time 4 a noob? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Bah. I stand corrected. That's what happens when 40 year olds play video games. The basic theory is sound, just pick the proper resistances.

110. Skills - unlimited? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
That's what great above Eve. Your one character can train in every area. And there's only 20 years worth of training if you get every skill up to level 5...you can go broad and shallow in many areas much quicker than that. :)

112. Do you have time 4 a noob? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Caldari are good at "shield tanking"...that is, loading modules that make your shields better at absorbing damage. For Guristas, if I recall, you want to increase your damage resistance to kinetic and explosive. In the market, look under the Shi...

113. [newbie] Engineering, Research, Blueprints, I am just so confused - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Edited by: Morlar on 10/12/2006 02:16:00 Ammunition is either looted from NPCs or made by players. There is no NPC supplied stock on the market. One can also get into the old argument of "minerals I get from reprocessing are free" vs. "no, yo...

114. [newbie] Engineering, Research, Blueprints, I am just so confused - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
The thing is, even someone with a cheap ammunition blueprint can make money from it. Pick a home base 9-15 jumps from Jita (or whatever your newbie hub is) and check market details for what ammo is missing. Kill some rats, reprocess the bits they ...

116. Beautiful game, but... - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
One problem with Eve, and I'm not sure that there's an easy fix, is that new players end up in the most crowded areas of the game and therefore suffer from the queues and crashes more. My corp base is 9 jumps from Jita and lagging, queues and cra...

119. Worth starting? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Former WoW and EQ player myself, as well as SWG. What's nifty about Eve is that it pretty much discards the idea of the "alt". That is, your single character can train in all skill areas and change what he does based on your mood. For instance, r...
