This. This alone is enough for me:
..."The wormholes themselves will be open only for a randomly determined amount of time and can only let through a certain amount of mass before they collapse. Pilots should carefully consider the information their ship's computer gives them about a wormhole before committing to travel through it. Although there will always be a way back to known space from wormhole space, you may have to search long and hard to locate it. And in that process, you may find wormholes that lead you to even more unexplored wormhole systems, launching you on a voyage of exploration the likes of which EVE has never seen before..."

I would say that orca living will be the lifestyle of choice. Fill up those bays with all the goodies you need to farm the rats and run whatever exploration sites are in the new systems. If the rats are the same difficulty level of normal 0.0 belt rats then I can see an invasion of Recons and Hacs to keep the mass used per transit down and prolong the time the wormhole is open. Yea hacs would most likly be used in these systems espically amarr ones as no need for ammo and ishtars as they use drones insted of ammo so more space for loot. ALso its not to hard to fit a probe launcher on them and cloaks.

Now what CCP needs to add are Nomad ships. Thukker like stuff that allows you to carry a lot of stuff to use on those regions and ships taht can buidl stuff and refine stuff etc.. so you can have entire nomad comunities in these regions. |

In that HACs are cruiser size, and T3 is going to be cruiser size - I'm betting the new T3 ships will be the ones most often chosen, actually. |

Interesting and I thought the same for a moment but alas the resulting ****storm would sink iceland. I think it means that some people will choose to live in wormhole space and never come back to 'empire'. There is a hint that if you look hard enough there is always a way out of a wormhole system so once that mechanic is figured out then permanent settlement will be possible.

* You will be able to drop more than one probe in a grid * Probe scan ranges can be adjusted via a drag and drop interface in the 3D map, removing the need for multiple probe types * Probes can be repositioned in the solar system map using a drag and drop interface and will warp to their specified positions * Scanning will now use triangulation to refine and improve accuracy of scan results * You can recall probes for re-use at a later point and time * The transition from ship view to 3D Solar System view to Universe Map view has been made near instant, allowing for quick switching between them

I don't think it's gonna work though.
Once they get there all they gotta do is bring 30 of their friends and camp all the stations.
This is ours now! Farming time!
Then what happens when the wormhole collapses, as (if I'm reading that blod right) it will when EITHER a random time limit expires OR a certain amount of ships have passed through?
What good is farming if you can't get the goods back?
you have to look for the exit wormhole.

Was thinking along the same lines. Or the reverse : to get your own private space, just go back and forth until the last trip in shuts it down.
One question I have about the randomness : is this still going to follow the same paradigm as the rest of the game? That is, the richest wormhole spaces come from 0.0, and the stuff in empire leads to crap? Or is it truly random?
Edit : Ooh, this might actually lead to a use for black ops battleships. Find yourself a wormhole space. Trap yourself in it (giving exclusive access). Live out of GSC's for a month or two. Find the "hard" way out (it won't be that hard). If you end up in a bad spot, cyno yourself to safety.
This really does sort of demand some kind of T1/T2 exploration ship to do right, though.

They'll find a way.
Give it a month and BOB and Goons and their pets will own all this new space.
Except there are no NPC stations in these new systems. No Stations and system sovereignty, if a fleet jumps in and doesnt have probes/a probe ship with them, self destruct is their only way out.. unless someone else just happens to find them and help them out. |

2500 hundred new systems? I have a few questions then if you dont mind. The new systems that have stations, will they have a security rating and if so will thier be gate guns, a concord style police or will it be like 0.0 NPC stations/space? Will somebody be able too live out of these new NPC stations and make a Med Clones their? Meaning if I die/podded I can wake up in this new station or will those services only be for old Empire Space? About how many star systems are their currently in Eve? Star systems in Empire? In 0.0?
Thx in advance. If these questions have been answered already can someone pls point me in the right direction so I can read them for myself.

Read the dev blog that's being talked about in this post, and linked in the first post. No stations in any of it. No gates in any of it. No concord in any of it. It's all 0.0. There's 5201 systems that are accessible by players currently. There are another hundred or so that are in Jove space which is inaccessible. ----------------

Having seen it in action, I can tell you it's not dumbed down. In fact, it will be slightly harder due to how the results are given.
But I can confirm that it's pure awesome.
At least it sounds a lot more interactive than the old system. Nothing to do there but hit rescan. Now it seems that you can deploy your probes and make some intelligent guesses on where the next scan should be done according to the results you get back.
So what happens when you cram a ship with a clone bay through a wormhole?
I must confess ignorance to how cloning bays work on capitals. |

It works the same as any other jump clone - but they've already stated no clone jumping into wormhole systems. |

Clueless person is clueless? The wormhole space will be virgin space, as mentioned in the blog, if anyone bothered to read it. No stations, no stargates, no new factions. OP is wrong on that part. The wormholes will only last for so long, and will only allow a random amount of mass to pass thru them before they collapse. There's no way to gang up and "camp" a system. Set up a POS or Outpost...possibly, but good luck keeping it supplied. Not to mention finding your way back to it :D |
