Sorry i posted this in the wrong forum, but i think explorers need to know this
i know the 10/10 Thor torps do a ton of damage
but 1 shotting a golem?

This seem alittle out of wack?
and no, i could not bring a carrier in, its gated
yea know, that just doesnt make sense
players spend all that time and money and time to get into t2 battleships
for the sole purpose of missions / plex
then u make a torpedo that a t2 golem with almost max resistance and 2 shield logistic ships cannont tank....

My 10/10 Apoc can tank 4-5 of those and easily permatank it with a logistic. But that is with 94% EM resist and i dont see that on a Golem
The Torp does not ignore resists but afaik ignores signature radius.

everything i have heard about these plexes say to use either HAC or assault frigs.
High resist and small signature radius. add an afterburner to help speed tank.

would the new missile changes affect these plex torps in any way?
Im guessing the general speed nerf would make them harder to tank in general?!

Sorry to say this but, the people above me are right. You should never take a golem into a 10/10 to tank aggro. The highest I ever take any of mine are into 6/10 (never found an 8, so I don't know about those). You need a group, and probably some research into what's needed to tank that particular plex.
I will say that those torps not getting affected by sig radius is donkey balls though. NPC's should get the same ner***e we have to live with.

A couple of questions:
1. Are missiles/torps the only form of damage in there?
2. Are there energy neutralizers in there?
Because if there are only missiles/torps and no energy neutralizers, you could try a Dominix which is permarunning multiple large smartbombs...
Just a possibly crazy idea.

rofl you dont dont learn anything do you? you just had a multi page thread about this where ppl told you what you did wrong and why you died...
1) the damage on the mail isnt from one hit, its from last 15 min
2) thor torp from npc's does 180 000 raw em damage (1800 x 100)
3) sig radius and speed sure does afect the damage you take (golem has huge sig radius and low speed)
4) you didnt have the needed EM buffer tank so you poped (hard to get it?)
5) there are lots of beter tanks to use, just ot name some: plated BS, plated minmitar t2 ship, ship with smartbombs to kill torps and if you really want to use a shield tank use a broadsword with extanders and em hardeners.. I guess even a plated wolf would do beter then the golem lol
6) you fail at eve give me your stuff :) --------

This is the main case here as far as the killmail goes.
As far as everything else goes - shield tank vs primarily EM damage is good idea right? |

In the other thread you kept mentioning you think it's wrong this very expensive Golem can't be used in this plex. Just a quick note, this is EVE. There's no single ship you can use for everything. For this plex a Golem's EM resists are just too low, so just use an other ship next time. |

It shouldnt ignore sig IIRC. I did tank those torps with plated ishtar, deimos and phobos earlier and thats much less HP than BS.

You have lots of sansha BS firing at you. In case of guristas 10/10 you get guris firing at you (kin/therm + missiles). Also station has gun which fires once per 30 minutes or so for about 5-10k damage - mostly explo and EM. So you need plate/resists to survive 1st shot, then resists to tank normal rats and proper setup to tank torpedo.

In sansha - yes. In guristas you get random NPC respawns which tend to attack logistic ships and jam them.

Technically speaking... if you were moving more then 0m/s you would have almost completely negated the dps.
Citadels explosion velocity is 30m/s and radius is 1000m. Moving in a bs should tank it.

But it's an NPC missile, they don't always play by the rules. For all we know it's got an explosion velocity of 100000m/s.
That would be pretty cool actually. |

acutally CCP reimbursed the ship, without any explantion on the reason for why the Golem was Instapopped
Lost a few hundred million in dropped items and loot, but gained a valuable lesson in this complex
Now, if CCP would either do one of the following...
1) Make the complex doable in properly setup BS's ( the best idea IMO )
2) Warn people entering the plex on how much damage that 10/10 plex can dish out
3) Just be more helpful overall so people can semi properly prepare... [/url] |
