Yet another patch brought out by CCP, and yet AGAIN they have failed to intergrate a way to show Allied Faction Militia pilots in the overview.
This is an issue which has been long overlooked, and is something which I personally feel strongly about.

Originally by: Kazuo Ishiguro Phantom jumps have appeared on the map that do not correspond to actual stargates, e.g. Aldranette <-> Manjonakko is shown as an inter-region jump on the map, but no such gates are listed as appearing in those systems.
Others have reported missing jumps, but I don't have any that I can confirm offhand.
We're looking into this issue and there are currently two issues:
1. System to system link is gone. 2. System to system link exists ingame, but the map does not show the jump and therefore the autopilot is making a mistake.

yea, I cant log in on a Vista x64 client running Premium graphics. Getting the Status : Unknown for the server. I tried at first the autopatch which completed, but gave me this issue when trying to connect. Then I downloaded the full premium client and installed that, same thing again.....
anyone find a workaround yet?

Below are general instructions on how to diagnose connection related issues:
If you have a router with a firewall or a software firewall make sure it allows all traffic through port 26000 for both UDP and TCP protocols. You can read through the following article to see if it has information that can help solve this problem, http://kb.eve-online.com/Pages/KB/Article.aspx?id=119 You can test your connection to our server by doing the following, if you encounter problems you can send us the results. To see whether you can get reach our servers or not, please do the following:
1. Press "Start" and select run. Write 'cmd' and press "ok"
2. Write 'telnet 87.237.38.200 26000' and wait for the process to finish. If the Command Prompt gives you an error and fails, you are most likely running a firewall of some sort which is blocking the traffic from your computer to our servers. You will need to fix that. However, if the window generates some scrambled letters, you are successfully contacting the servers and you'll need to make a pingplotter test with further connection info.
Here's how to do so: Download a program called pingplotter which is available at http://www.pingplotter.com/downloads/pngplt_2.exe If you are running a hardware firewall (SPI Firewall) on your router you will need to disable it, as otherwise this program won't work.
After starting up pingplotter do the following in the program:
1) Under "Adress to trace" put the following value in the box: 87.237.38.200 2) In the bottom left corner in the box "# of times to trace" put the value 1500 3) In the bottom left corner in the box "Trace Intervals" change it to 2.5 seconds 4) In the bottom left corner in the box "Samples to include" change it to 1500. 5) Click on "Trace" button in the bottom left corner.
Check if you get any packet loss or unusually high ping times at any node along the way. If you need any assistance with analyzing the results, then save the file as a sample set. File a petition and attach the file to the petition. You can use the petition system on the web site to create a petition and attach the file. You will find a link named My Petitions under the Eve Support column on the left.

let me add, I have 2 PCs on this same connection. 1 running Classic client on an WinXP machine, that works and connects fine. 1 running Premium client on Vista... no good on this one.
So I know I can connect to the servers from my network, just not with the Premium client on the Vista machine. I also cannot get Premium to work on the XP machine as its graphics processor cant handle it.

Heh you auto-pilot avoid jita thing is awful stupid the way you made it you can't set the destination at all to jita unless you remove it from the list? i though the hole point of the thing was so it avoided jita in the middle of jumps not at the end of the route. You guys kind of missed the real issue here.

The gate between heydieles and old man star is not visible to the autopilot, or in the system info, but is visible in-system and functional.

I was trying to sell some goods in Jita from my base in Mitsolen.
I get a message that I am 2,147,847 jumps away and only have skills for 20 jumps. Obviously, this is associated with your bypass mechanisms, but it has hit the Law of Unintended Consequences, a.k.a. poor testing.

Remove Jita from your AP avoidance list
Though I agree that it should not happen, I think it would be better to ignore the system on the avoidance list if said system is a waypoint. _

Added as per instructed
For a 9mb patch, a 1g download to fix it again
Reinstalled build 61817 fourth time now, including uninstall and removing cache and settings.
Start client. This is presented and yes DX has been updated.
The patch has been downloaded the client will now close and the patch process will begin press OK to continue.
"Patching error in file bin\DirectX\DXSetup.exe The Specified file did not have the correct CRC. This indicates your installation is corrupt. Please reinstall EVE-Online."
Oh yeah and problem is too, that I don't have 1g left on my download quota for month :(, since already downloading 61817 this month, plus play time and other downloads, have to wait until next account cycle (24th of month) to download the full client again.
So it may be a while until I get to play again.
Bring in web-based skill changing access so at least I can accomplish that, while I wait.!!!!
Not happy Jan!!!!

Fixed
I managed to get my provider to host the latest full build locally (free downloads), sometimes they don't reply for a week or two, they were right on it early this time.
In game now
So patching from 61817 to latest doesn't work but the full client does

In a number of systems the STARBASE tab will not expand and you are not able to select a starbase to warp too. The starbases still show up in the overview and you can warp to them using that.

What happens if you delete (read: remove temporarily) that folder? Worked for me the last time the client complained about that folder..
Anyways, learn to make backups of your eve client every patchday. That way you can just roll back if the patcher fubars ----------------------------------------------

Yes that had already been tried as in another thread that was opened earlier.
Once I had the Full Premium client available on a local server to download, all was sweet.
Oh yes and backups are done weekly here (Just in case)
For those new to this topic the folder to backup is here
C:\Documents and Settings\(your user name)\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP
Keep a copy of that folder, run the new client once, make sure it opens correctly, close the client and then place the backed up files in the same position, overwriting anything there. Restart and you are away with your old settings etc (one hopes).

The last patch brought:
- more rewarp effects and desyncs under laggy conditions than previously
- huge numbers of "ghost ships" instead of wrecks, including pods (all look like empty ships, even the pods get the "board ship" option)
Also, since the last 2 patches (at least), one loses control of drones in laggy conditions even if they are never too far.
My guess is that other bugs (misplaced/missing locks for item updates?) have been uncovered by the more asynchronous communication.
How to PVP: 1. buy ISK with GTCs, 2. fit cloak, learn aggro mechanics, 3. buy second account for metagaming

The Autopilot was mostly dysfunctional last night when we were roaming in Black Rise, it seems that some of the gates between Tama and Old Man Star were indeed invisible to the autopilot. No, I have not had time to bugreport it.

Edited by: Casoon on 01/10/2008 09:03:43 Edited by: Casoon on 01/10/2008 08:59:05 Ok, I go to log in and I get this:
Quote: Could not connect to the specified address. Odds are that you have not established an internet connection, the server isn't running, or the server address or port number was wrong.
Also the server status shows as Unknown and if I try and click the Support, News, or Patch Info tabs a box shows up saying URL error. When it happened this morning I thought it may just be because the server had just been patched , but 10 hours later it's still there. Obviously I have an internet connection and the server is running, so why would the server address have changed itself...and how do I fix it before I explode from frustration

Not invisible to the autopilot - completely invisible or actually rather non-existant:

Hi CCP,
Thought with the rash of whining about the patch that I'd post my issues too:
Patch - logged into game 9 hours after restoration of server. I followed your advise with a long skill training and so didn't need to log in Straight away (How many ppl failed to follow THAT advice and blame You for it ! LOL! - Also I hope ppl didn't think they could jump into the game when EVERYONE is trying to download the patch did you???). Service downloaded quickly and installed first time.
Network Lag - there is none. I get a delay when exiting and entering station but I have cache set to none so you'd expect that!
This patch is brilliant and the new network layer is fantastic. No more seemingly endless waiting while the server catches up to my "click request". No more delays. FPS is great and fast - at least three times as fast as it was previously (I was only about 3-4 fps a second so now I am around 12 - the screen update is almost real time since it isn't waiting on the network to respond back.
Well Done! . This fixes a lot of issues I had but never made known.
I am now thinking of signing up a second account due to this patch being released!
Did I mention that I am running this on Ubuntu Linux 7.10? Using Cedega client?
(And no, I'm not on CCP payroll but I'll take a 60 day GTC if you want to thank me!)

Incompatible protocol. followed instructions for XP in:

didnt resolve issue. still get incompatible protocol. My current version is 5.11.61817.
Any ideas?

Bookmark nerf?
If I have a bookmark 180k off the gate, and one 500k off the gate, I am unable to warp between the two. Only "Approach Location" shows up. Was there an unannounced bookmark nerf included in this patch, or is there a problem with my client?

on missing links between systems issue; link between Akkio <-> Todifrauan is missing on map, autopilot will take you on long route around, havent had a chance to check if gates are in those systems and if they are working |
