Edited by: Cerlestes on 10/05/2008 13:31:43 Hi there o/
Some months ago when I was a miner I've written a little static ORE Table where I quickly could look which ore contains which minerals. Cause I got bored with all this POS-war now I've written an interactive PHP-version some days ago Some main features:
- You can see what minerals each ore contains very fast (including the +5% and +10% variations)
- You can see what value a can (or any other amount) of each ore has, at a selectable refining-yield
- There is a nice little price-history at the bottom, where you can see the last 10 (max.) prices of all minerals
- That prices are refreshed in 8 hour intervals via cronjob
- It's also compitable to the In-Game-Browser (IGB)
- Also this post and the script may contain some mistakes, cause english isn't my native language
Linky: http://cerlestes.chaos-servers.de/oreprice.php
I hope for many comments and constructive criticism
See ya o7 Cerlestes

There is a new plugin for the next version EVE-MEEP (the "Drzt's Refining Calculator" plugin) that is very similar to this.
The next version hasn't been released yet but you can have a look at the source code in its current state if you like.

Hi,
Version 3.5 is out Some changes:
- CPU usage was optimized
- Colors for IGB-version were corrected
- Standard-yield was changed from 100% to 99.5%
- Some locks were implemented to avoid overflows (like 99...99% taxes)
Also I got a new candy for our ice-mining fellows http://cerlestes.chaos-servers.de/iceprice.php The regulary update of the ice-thingy was implemented and should start at midnight.

After 59 days without internet I finished v3.7, which contains:
- Extremely improved performance! Reduced HTML-code from ~43KiB to ~21KiB, tables are building up 40-50% faster [OGB | IGB]
- Working on an Alloy Chart, which will go online SoonÖ
- Found out that my alt has to skill for skiff too

Why? I'm getting the prices via eve-central API and they're pretty much correct (except for Jita)
Originally by: Raijen Ar'Desh One suggestion, allow filtering of ore types for those of us who mine primarily in empire
Do you mean instead of ordering them by name, grouping it into 0.0/Empire with the ability to only show one of that groups?
Some updates btw:
- Just added a Mining-Timer, which is pretty cool when you do background-mining with an alt while a fleet, like me

Very nice tool, all the same :) Thank you for taking the time to build and maintain it! Extra incentive for me to be contributing to EVE Central, at the very least.
Oh, and I second the request for hisec/losec division of ores.
On my own spreadsheet, I have the ores listed in order of output mineral, thus:
- Veldspar
- Scordite
- Pyroxeres
- Plagioclase
- Omber
- Kernite
- Jaspet
- Hemorphite
- Hedbergite
- Gneiss
- Dark Ochre
- Crokite
- Spodimain
- Bistot
- Arkonor
- Mercoxit
A bit bizarre perhaps, but that goes in ascending order of value of primary mineral.

Unfortunatly it is, might be only server-problems as I had them some months ago, but might also be total server crash (currently i'ts hosted on the server of a friend...) I organized new, stable webspace and am bringing my work at version 4 up to speed. (I've already finished the basic script and the ore table, will fix bugs now and continue on the ice and alloy sheet's.) [The lucky guys who saw that thing already were just like "woooooow!" :P]

Looks very very nice, how ever i would really much like someone to explan to me what it all means... Take Veldspar and it shows 30 on each variant for Trit, what is those 30 number and why is that box green ? A guess would be for 1m3 of Velspar it gives me 30+ in trit depending on refinery skills, but i could be wrong.

That's completely right. The number 30.030 at Veldspar->Tritanium means that you'll get 30 units Tritanium from 1m3 Veldspar at 100% refining. To calculate how much minerals you'll get from e.g. a can (27500m3): 30.030 * 27500 -> You will get 825825 units of Tritanium per can. You can include your refining skills by setting the second option under 'Settings' to 'Yes'.
And to explain why it's green, see here: http://cerlestes.de/eve/oretable/?orderby=Tritanium The more green it is, the more of that mineral is in that ore (effective, so per m3).
Hope you're understanding it now :)

Hint: really think about changing the direction of the charts. It's actually very confusing to look at the graphs if they are pointing in the "wrong" direction.

Version 4.0b is out, with some changes:
- Background was improved, mostly the price-getting script
- The price charts got a new orientation, as wished, like ingame: from left to right
- The prices are now based on the lowest 10 Jita sell-orders, as wished many times, not empire average anymore
- A simple IGB version is back online and running, but it won't show ore information anymore, just the actual prices
- Also I fixed something really small which noone noticed it seems like: at the pricetrend site, "-26", for 26 days ago, was missing
Hope you like it :) http://ore.cerlestes.de

I will add a way to order them how you want in version 4.2, which will be fully based on jQuery, caus that'll allow f****g nice gimmicks, such as instant-ordering the tables by what you want, dynamic site loading, etc Hope you look forward to it as I do

Edited by: Myopic Thyne on 05/09/2009 16:37:47 Love this. Use it almost everyday. I am wondering how you got the 30.303 for Veldspar... I can't make that work, though I'm getting you're right not me.
[Removed so I don't sound like so much of an idiot.]
Anyways, still love it, always using it to help me remember what to mine among other things, since it's easy to just sort the table and have whatever ore types yield the most of whatever mineral at the top.
As far as being able to do gimmicky searches with jQuery, are those going to be URL encoded or are they going to be otherwise saveable?

Thanks, thanks, thanks :) Just noticed that the cronjob which, should update the prices, is gone again after the server problems... Will take care of that in the evenening, when I'm home from work!
And yes, the jQuery site will use sharp-vars (.../index.html#table:ore;amount:27500;...).

Had problems with a bad DNS-config again... Talked to the guy on which's server my sites are hosted on (mrrx7, greets to him) and he helped me finally solving the issues. Also the cronjob updated the prices every day, you just didnt see those updates because it was another database.. :P But that's working now again too.
Can't work on 4.2 at the moment because of too much RL-stuff, but I'll try to get it only as fast as possible.

Just a question: when I set my regional prices at the settings and then come back to the Table again to see the new updated prices of a can..nothing change, still show the default Jita based average ones. What I do wrong?
Sorry if is a silly question I'm a newbie.

What does the green shading on the boxes mean?
Also, what is meant by the price of "a can"?
Is that ore or minerals, and how much is "a can"?
Thanks... http://www.eve-files.com/media/signatures/evesig1.JPG

That green shading means, sorted by minerals, the greener it gets, the more of that mineral is in that ore... just click onto "Tritanium" or any other mineral at the top, and you'll see ;) The price of a can shows you the money you'll get by selling the refined minerals. A can is sized 27,500m3.

What do you mean by that? All prices are the value of the refined minerals/isotopes/etc.

Very nice, this is just I was looking for.
Have done some number crunching and think you have made in the "Ore table" 2 mistakes.
1. Plagioclase : all numbers are a little bit too high (5%). It is almost as if for the size of one unit 0.33 m^3 is taken instead of 0.35 m^3.
2. Bistot : all numbers are a bit too low. Here it is almost as if for the size of one unit Bistot 17 m^3 is taken instead of 16 m^3.
Just started mining in eve so I can be wrong.
Keep up the good work.

Yes, sorry for that... it's a known problem for some weeks now :microsoft: I thought I'd rather work on the new version to come online on 31st Jan (yes, one day earlier :P), than fixing the old script.

Btw, future plans: 4.2 -- 31st Jan -- Major overhaul, AJAX'ing everything (people with JS deactivated have to allow it for cerlestes.de, IE-users must use another browser, since IE isn't going to be supported -- alternatively the old version will run until 1st March) 4.2.1 -- 13th Feb -- Some missing features that were thought to be in 4.2 (nothing big, don't worry) Party -- 21st Feb -- Birthday of yours truly :P 4.2.2 -- 27th Feb -- Non-JS Version for my beloved 19% Internet Explorer users and JS haters 4.2.3 -- 27th March -- Some other features I thought of but couldn't implement in time (Dates, except for the first three, to be estimations)

Because I'm an evil miner , I've written a little static ORE Table where I quickly could look which ore contains which minerals, some months ago.
- That prices are refreshed every 24 hours
- Also this post and the script may contain some mistakes, cause english isn't my native language
Linky: http://ore.cerlestes.de/ (ATTENTION: New URL!)
Since v3.5 there is an ICE Table too :) http://ore.cerlestes.de/index_ice.php
Since v4 there is an Alloy Chart: http://ore.cerlestes.de/index_alloy.php
I hope for many comments and constructive criticism

Just one thing I think would improve it and make it perfect to me (I deeply believe the world shoud be made to fit with my desires), could you add the 20d or 30d Jita average price on the pricetrend?
Thanks a lot for the time you spent doing this :)

Been using this for a while, like the new changes.
I created a profile, but it isn't keeping the sorting. Ex. Sort Ore by Appearance, go to Ice Table, go back to Ore Table, now it's sorted by Values of 1m3 ore.
Didn't see a setting to make it stick. Did I miss it?

Aye, and the low ends remaining up and or increased in some instances. Probably a bit to do with 0.0 peeps selling off chunks of high end mineral stores in order to buy the MASSIVE quantities of low ends needed to build Super-Carriers.. Just my carebear lovin guess.

I deleted the notice that donations are appreciated from the about page with this version Or do you mean a RL-monies donation? No way I'm going to take that - it's nothing you should 'pay' for with real money, but thanks :)
Just to keep you updated: The last days I tried to figure out, whether it's my update script or the Eve Central API going crazy about 360 queries. (Yes, 23 Regions, 15 Minerals ) I just found out that some regions just don't have sell orders feeded to the EC-API, which caused the error (the parser returned (int)0, which the script interpreted as parsing failure)... So I'm finally going to add the 'Select prices from every empire region'-feature tomorrow, which also allows the 'Show pricetrend for every region'-feature in 30 days, starting on 12th March.
Hope you like it :) Also, I'm going to implement the 'Costum formula'-feature tomorrow, which will allow you to write your own formulas like in Excel, and I'm going to extend on that the next days.

Well I don't think IE is the problem.
This code being amateur and made by a browser evangelist idiot is the problem.
Blocking IE has always been the response of those that have no idea what they are doing or who their market is.
Should I block Firefox and Chrome for all the things that they do wrong or fail?

Wow, are you mad much :)? The main reason for blocking IE is because of it not supporting XMLHttpRequest. Of course I could do a workaround, but I don't want to ;) I'm such a bad biased person :3
Okay guys, please read the new 'blog' entry! It's really important that as many of you as possible are willing to use my MarketUpdater. If you don't do so, I can't give you the ability to choose between different region's data sets
A cool thing about the Updater: If you minimize it, rather than closing, you're going to be able to right click the icon and choose "Open Ore Table" to get the ore table opened in your standard web browser :)
Comments, critizism and oppinions please!

No, I'm pretty sure you are wrong.
IE is one of the worst browser as far as compliance with standards, There is no reason someone should have code a website to work with a specific browser. Cerl clearly states he could write a fix for it if he wants, but considering only a very small part of his viewer use the lesser compliment browser its not worth the effort. I think you should understand a bit more about what your talking about before you start mouthing off.

Blocking IE has always been the response of security firms providing their clients with a *secure* browsing environment, and those who don't have the time to offer a free service to people who use a browser that causes a lot of pain for them to comply with simple standards. Anyway, I like to call it browser based euthanasia. IE users would suffer and think "wow this site is ****" if they came on and saw a broken site, so it's better to let them know to come back when they get a decent browser.
Even if the code is amateur, it provides something that you, sir, can only dream of building. If you really want to use IE then install ChromeFrame or something, now go back to the MSDN forums where you belong :)
ps: you lose, good day sir pps: cerl i wub you

Yea, no uploads so far from anyone of those 1000 guys using it every day I searched for other data sources, but there are no real ones like EC. Eve Metric was updated 3 days before I last checked it, so yea... not going to be up to date as it looks like :) Tho it's API is awesome. If there are not more than 10 uploads by tomorrow, I will get rid of this update strategy again, and will just do the ol' Jita-only updating in 6 hour cycles, since the manual price input is working now :)
Guess I wasted a week, ha :D Anywas, was fun and interesting developping an AIR app
Going to work on the following features now (in listed order): - Custom Formulas, with which you'll be able to access ore prices and mineral amounts to output exactly what you want to know. (e.g. the mineral price of a Drake) - Ore Amount and Mining Cycle calculators - Implementing Ore, Ice and Alloy pricetrends - Localisation to german, french, russian and dutch

Great tool, i use it a lot, but as a solo miner most of the time i tend to target the +5, and +10% ore variants to get maximum isk/hour. The one thing that I see lacking from your table is a ability to get isk/volume values for these variants instead of simply the base ore. Thanks again for the table, Cerlestes.

The old page used to have that info if i'm not mistaken. Other than that i agree with Thingz ;)
Anyways I found an error in the alloy page. All prices seem to be off (or maybe it's just me being ultra tired? :P)
E.g. Condensed Alloy yields 88Trit @2,96 isk , 44 Pyer @7,55isk and 11 Iso@55,97 isk. according to your table that's 924 isk. my calculator says it's 1208,35
Same story for the other alloys and compounds. Am i missing something? The volume for alloys is 1 so that shouldn't have any affect. My first guess was that you've mixed up Mex (@30,58 isk) and Iso but that'd result in 929,06 isk total value and not 924. still slightly off.

wrong alt above :P
and i just realized that if you multiply that 929 isk *0.995 (your pre set refining yield settings) we get that 924 isk :)
So a) you mixed up some rows and b) are missing setting for refining yield on the alloy table :)
Besides that great work that whole page! :)

You don't have to sign up... creating a profile just needs a name for it, nothing else ;) It's not like an account or something. Just a way to enable you to share your settings with corpmates or even only over multiple computers.

Thanks! I love this tool, great data and pretty, lightweight presentation.
I don't know if this has been mentioned already, but in the Alloy Table, when you sort by Price, it appears to be sorted lexically (1 < 10 < 13 < 2 < 70 < 8 ... ). You've gotten the numeric sort right everywhere else so it's probably just an oversight.
Thanks again for the site!

It fails on Opera 10.51 as well. Same symptoms - it says that JS is disabled, and that I'm using IE. Whatever test you are using to determine JS being enabled and browser type seems to be very wrong. Please fix this - Opera is one of the most JS standard and W3C compliant browsers out there. |

That "JS is Disabled - You're using IE" site will basically be displayed when the JS can't be executed.
I tried it with Opera 10.51 and it works just fine as it should (because indeed, it's the best browser out there, in terms of compliance). I checked my Stats, and it showed me, that, yesterday, 91 people were using the Ore Table without problems, going online with Opera 9 to 10.51. Only 13 of the Opera users used the old non-JS version, the whole last month. (And 751 Internet Explorer users ) So it really must be a problem with your settings, I'm very sorry!
But I'm going to re-write that "No JS"-text today, so it fits better ;)

still one of the best things for ore prices in my oppinion,
just some filters would not be bad, like -show high sec -show low sec -show 0.0
and 2.ed thing would be some option to change the price sourcs, like jita 4-4 buy median/sell median/market average asf.
But well, in the end i like it the way it is, the rest would only be flavor on top of the sugar ^^

Edited by: Veles Deathbringer on 28/05/2010 05:54:00 Excellent resource for the miners. Trends are quite handy, too. However, since the downtime for the installation of Tyrannis, the prices fail to scrap-e (it seems this word is flagged by the censorship as a bad one, go figure) and are stuck at their pre-Tyrannis values (last updated 25th).
Hope this is just a minor glitch and is easy to resolve.

Thanks to all the replies :)
I updated the database yesterday to fit the Tyrannis updates of ore and alloys!
Also, I wanted to tell you that I met a cool guy on the german forums, who is pretty good at web-stuff, who will work on the Ore Table from now on and implement all the stuff I told you and wanted to implement :)
His first work will go online the next week: price trend charts from all over New Eden!
Quote: one suggestion... it would be great if you could set the ore price from other trading hubs
I implemented this last week - actually it's not final yet, but you can fetch the prices from any region via the "Set fix prices" window you can find under Settings.
Quote: just some filters would not be bad, like -show high sec -show low sec -show 0.0
You can sort the table by it's appearance, which means Highsec, Lowsec, Zerosec. It's the very right column.
Quote: last updated 25th
I actually don't know why it doesnt update manually anymore, since it's looking allright and thus should work. Going to look into it.Ö

Quick question...
The part that says 'Refining Yield'. Where do we get this number? Station when I go to refine it? Because no matter the skills I have it always says 85.9%.
My skills Refining & Refining Efficiency are at 5. All the Ore types are at 4, except two of them, those are at 3.
Thanks.

I actually don't know it 100%-ly sure, you better look that up at Halada's Mining Guide, which features nice tables to look it up quickly: http://www.lsjv-eve.com/guide/ (He put a link to my Ore Table into it btw :P)

Excellent. Both EVE-useful and well done.
Thank you.
This is mostly a bump, but one tiny suggestion. Use "stable sorts" after I click on a column header to sort.
"Stable sorting algorithms maintain the relative order of records with equal keys. If all keys are different then this distinction is not necessary. But if there are equal keys, then a sorting algorithm is stable if whenever there are two records (let's say R and S) with the same key, and R appears before S in the original list, then R will always appear before S in the sorted list."
For instance, I can click on price and then appearance. A stable sort would mean that rows with the same appearance key would be in the previous order, i.e. sorted by price. So best price for each appearance would be the first entry. I believe most spreadsheets like Excel, Google do it this way for this reason. It gives you a two-column sort without having a UI to select that.

You can do that by holding SHIFT while clicking on multiple headers.

However, if I click "Set fix prices", the "window" opens behind the table. This is probably because the table (CSS id #div_sheet) has a z-index of 100. Setting z-index to 0 seems to work, but I think you have a reason for using 100...
I wonder if I'm the only one experiencing that bug.
...and it'd be nice if you could save the "Load regional prices"-selection in the profile data so that I don't have to select them every time.
Thank you for that tool!

I did have one question/request about it though. Do you think it would be possible to specifically set the m3 mined for mercoxit separate than the regular ores? When I have it setup to see what the current rates are, I have to adjust for my skiff's m3 (not that it is critical cause the isk/hour for merc stinks atm). Did want to throw it out there, and say great work on the webpage!

Useless.
Which miner flies the refined minerals to each of the markets only to get the last ISK out of mining?
You just mine 15-30 minutes more and forget about hauling them over 20-30 jumps of high-sec.
Jita, Amarr, Rens, Oursulaert and Dodixie ... that is a round trip of how many jumps exactly?!? --

Lets say it that way: Everybody I know :) Back when I was mining, in the very north of EVE's map, i used to fly ~50 jumps to Jita to sell my minerals. So did everyone else. When I mined in Jita, I did the same. So did everybody else mining with me too.
Also: You can select any region you want, you're not bound to the tradehubs ;)

The difference in price is often enough to inspire many miners to move their minerals from the place they are to a near hub or Jita. Also, moving the minerals where you have the best standing will reduce the taxes paid.

Ore table Pricetrend Last Update: 18th Aug 2010, 10:03h ingame time - Shown prices are taken from Jita, Amarr, Rens, Oursulaert and Dodixie.
Ice table Pricetrend Last Update: 18th Aug 2010, 04:03h ingame time - Shown prices are taken from Jita.
Should the Ice table have the same list of color coded locations?
Good work on the chart, it's been very handy.

I SIMPLY LOVE IT...
i only found one bug which im sure someone already posted (if not here goes).
When i'm logged in and save mineral settings and then go to alloys and then changed amount to figure value then it forgets the refining percentage placed on the minerals page and thus resets profits to 0.
So effectively i have to save the amount of alloys and go back to minerals change the refining percentage - hit save and then go back to alloys.
But hey as i wrote it is minor and i gotta say THUMBS up for a job done on this project. I really hope if you should ever stop playing you decide to let someone else take over - because this is simply to good to let go to waste. Thanks again for making my life a little easier. I wonder about the price column though, is the price the average of the 3 subtypes (+0, +5 and +10%)? I also would like to see the subtypes separated in price (the /m3 one), so I can see if it's better to mine Fiery Kernite or Concentrated Veldspar.
Great work anyway, thanks.

The thing with including the subtypes is that if you have no data on how common each type is and if you just use an uniform distribution then all the ores values would increase by 5% ((1 + 1.1 + 1.05)/3) and that would not make a difference for comparing the values of the ores just the income per hour.

Thanks, mac!
There are at least several other sites that contain info like this, but your site is my favorite of all of them, and the one I ALWAYS go to, and give its URL to others who ask for such info as what is arrayed so excellently there!
Hey, I'm even loggedon to it right now!
Keep up the good work! You rule, man hehehehe
