I am starting lvl 4 missions and I completed an angel one with 3 rooms. It took me so long, that by the time I started salvaging the first room, the wrecks were disappearing. I got most of the loot, but for future reference, I would like to know how much time I got.

I'd err on the side of caution with 59 minutes, same for the cans. -- One day, we will return to the planets... please, CCP? :)

Its a good question.. Ive had mine last way over 2 hours once... i was doing a mission, and had to do some stuff so i rushed it and just turned it in without looting anything, i did bookmark a wreck..
after my little chore i watched a 2 hour movie and had some food, and came back after just over 3 hours and i could still loot every wreck ( ithink, i didnt count :P it looked right tho)
it couldve been a freak occurance tho

The quote of the day eve-o have introduced have confirmed that a jetcan can survive 2 hour in open space. Most likely the shipwreck is about the same time.

j/k
If it were an hour, I am sure all the wrecks would have been gone for sure. My ship tanks very well, but doesnt put out very stellar damage so it takes me some time to pop the battleships. 2 hours might be about right. _______________________________________________ RuntimeError: ChainEvent is blocking by design, but you're block trapped. Not so fast! They can also disappear BEFORE that, but they aren't supposed to last much longer than that. Cans and wrecks TYPICALLY last between one and two hours, though usually it is closer to two hours.
Some wrecks, however, disappear very quickly. Of particular note, the Elite Drone Parasites in Silence the Informant vanish within about 15 minutes.

So is it done this way on purpose? To make it realistic or something? Like smaller wreck loot succumbs to particle damage faster than big wrecks? Something like that? _______________________________________________ RuntimeError: ChainEvent is blocking by design, but you're block trapped. we have people that say no more than 2 hours, and people that say more than two ours...
so we can safely assume that they last for 2, +/-6 hours. at the most/least.
thank heavens we cleared that up.

jett cans normally last about 2 hours, and in some cases wrecks last way too short, tried looting a lvl 4 silence, and some of the domidrone wrecks had popped as i was approaching them, inside of 30 mins..

I was under the impression there was a significant random element to the time. I've watched wrecks despawn, and they didn't follow exactly the order in which I kited and popped them.
If we can get staff input... Can I also find out the forum log-out timer? Make it longer, it nom-noms my cookies. ----- TANSTAAFL

Ah, thank you. I've been looking for a good EVE related alternative to "watching the grass grow" and "watching paint dry".
"Watching wrecks despawn"... Yes, that will do nicely. The fun factor should be about the same, no?

Not as bad as you think. I keep busy. If I kite all the rats along one vector, then turn around and head back once I know I can tank everything that's left, I have a nice long path of wrecks right in front of me. I'm tractoring while I'm wiping up the last of the rats, and since I've finally learned not to even bother with frigate and cruiser wrecks, it's not too hard to keep track of the ones you're interested in.
Although to be honest I've never actually seen a wreck despawn. More like it was there, then I turned the camera to look at something else, and when I came back it was gone. ----- TANSTAAFL

I thought it was a pretty standard thing for jetcans actually...at least for the ones you jettison yourself. But I know I have salvaged wrecks that have been out there for somewhere around 2-3 hours. _______________________________________________ RuntimeError: ChainEvent is blocking by design, but you're block trapped.
