On November the 27th we are deploying a patch to TransGamingÆs Linux and Mac game engine. This will not affect Windows users, nor will the patch require extended downtime to deploy.
If you run EVE using our Linux packages, after downtime on the 27th the client will automatically download and install a patch for the TransGaming components.
Mac client users will need to download and apply a different client patch. We will upload and publish the link for on the 27th during the maintenance downtime.
The following items have been added to the Revelations 2.3 Patch Notes page.
Fixed a number of crashes and runtime exceptions for the Mac client. HFS+ case sensitive file system support for the Mac client has been added. Azerty, Danish and Swedish keyboard issues for the Mac client have been resolved. The transparent boxy background around the HUD has been resolved. Added detection of initial state of locking keys (Numlock/Capslock) has been added. Startup issues on Linux systems using Athlon/AthlonXP processors caused by the use of SSE and SSE2 instructions have been resolved. Autopatcher resolution switching fixed on Linux. The Linux installer was experiencing issues with tooltips. These have been resolved. The multiuser instalation issue with Ubuntu Gutsy has been resolved. Certain settings in the EVE Configuration tool not sticking appropriately. This has been resolved.
Again this patch will not change any EVE game play, nor will the patch affect users running the EVE client under Windows. The patch is only for users of clients running Mac and Linux platforms.

I was experiencing problems with the current, that is... old version. On Linux i got a splashscreen, which vanishes after maybe 10 seconds, but i do not get the login-screen. Doesn`t mather whether i use wine or cedega. I really hope this will be resolved quickly...

It does: Command-Return
[not command-enter as mentioned elsewhere - although new intel mac keyboards do have a small enter under the Return on the key as part of the move to total windows domination - muhahahaha :) ]
It doens't remember the window/fullscreen setting however, so each time you start up you need to switch. On the plus side you can use the mac OS screen capture now - seeing as how we don't have a print screen key on macs and the Eve screen capture is hardwired :(

now something for the unfortunate 64bit running folks ?
It seems that's why ATI is not supported ? I mean I have a 64bit libGL library and stupid Cedega tries to load a 32bit glxgears. Same for agp_test ... at least they could handle the system environment correctly.
Seems it's wine-git for me ...

I thought us Mac Users would have to download a patch, and they were gonna publish the patch between 11:00 and 12:00? I can't find it. I'll just run with what I have.

That was exactly the same issue as I had. Today I upgraded to linux 2.6.23 and with this new patch I was finally able to use Eve under Linux!!11 yay \o/ Sadly it seems to run only in fullscreen which is a problem for my synergy :-/ I didn't find a way to get into window-mode yet

So where is it? My version says 3.23.41736, which is the "latest". I did not download a patch.

Check the eve configuration tool (Applications ---> Games)... run in windowed mode but make sure you untick "dxgrab" if you want the mouse to leave the window.
