Edit: I'd also like to point out that even if it was incorrect, a minor spelling error is a long way from tYpINg LIke ThIs. ---------------------------

Have you ever declared war on a corp? After waiting 48 long hours after your initial decision to declare, you might get a few lucky kills, and then everyone docks up for the rest of the week. The "preparation" time is just gathering enough magazines and ramen noodles to weather the storm outside the stations.

The fact is, even with 24 hours of preparation, most corps don't do anything except tell their members to stay docked. We want more of an ambush! :P

I agree with Z504, the 8 HR's is too short but I think he just meant to toss it out there as a suggestion, not THE time to set it to.
Awesome, you guy's turned a simple petition into a pointless flame war because you all want to prove how stupid you can be. The Names are not of one person but a corp of people, like so many others, we use a simple but catchy naming convention. I've seen at least 5 other corps doing the same thing. We just did it a LONG time ago before it became popular.
How about we try to keep this on topic and stop trying to flame each other.

Grammatical errors notwithstanding, 24 hours is too long to wait. 8 hours can be perhaps too soon. I agree with Bloody on 12-15.

I don't think it is. I did empire wars for close to a year, and the bit I had a problem with was the vote before you can declare. The 24h wait period means you can declare war during your normal playing time, then be online and ready to go when the war goes live. It also means that players in different timezones or with limited playing time will at least have had a chance to find out about the war before it starts. ---------------------------

Declaring war isn't meant to be an ambush.
QFT... if you want to ambush somebody gank somebody in lowsec.
Sure people can hide in stations all they want, If your wardec-ing carebears why shouldnt they? They dont want a fight so they dont give you one, they hide, like good ickle carebears. If you want a fight Wardec somebody who will give you one.
Not everybody likes the fighty side of eve. So they choose to hide from it. ------------------------------- Here comes the sig.............

Considering some skills in this game take literally months to train, waiting 24 hours before you can pewpew people isn't that long. Some people do other things apart from play eve, by the way. 8 hours you say, you seriously never go longer than 8 hours without logging into the game? Go outside more.

Given that that is the Muffins' MO, I'd say they're getting bored now that Vecamia is known to be a pirate haven and only noobs and anti-pirates go there. so now they want to send their alts highsec ganking, since all their mains are at minus eleventyhundred security. ----------

i love the mUfFiN fAcToRy they make tasty baked goods.i would like a few scones a marzapan cake and 3 dead carebears. 8 hours is not long enough, though i do think there should be a feature that lets shareholders vote to activate the war sooner.

Poorly designed poll but if I understand it its...
1: B = no
reason: I am at work for 9 hours every day, if you declare war at my corp just after I go to work I would be a valid war taget the second I got home and logged on. I usually sleep 5-9 hours a night, on average I would say 7, if I thus am not on untill the second I fall asleep and if I dont log back in the second I get back I am a valid target.
2: B = no
reason: why should shares in the corp have any affect on the time before you get to fight? In a mutual wardec, ie both sides dec each other it should be instant but why should a single player in his own corp be able to wardec a corp and instantly be allowed to go out and kill the target in highsec.
My opinion is that you want to make it easier to gank.
The timer untill a war goes hot is there for a reason and that reason is that people play at different times, if the timer is shorter than it is very possible that a war can be declared, go hot and the members can be camped before they even know a war is happening.
This would be bad.

The english language is funny that way, you can even use the twise in a row in some cases ie "the the house", I have seen it used correctly in one of Lovecrafts novels.

hey hey
1. B - only because 8hrs isnt a respectable time and will take me outside my timezone when the war dec went active. However i do agree it could be shortened
2. B - CEO's can be suffer a bit from meglomania but instadec's sound interesting.
Maybe War Dec's could be an hour... "FUAKHKSDJ LKAJ you lkjlkjdaing Griefer me and my corp will wtfpwnjoo expect a war dec in the post . . . you have 1 hour to prepare"
