Every week in the Warp Drive Active PodCast Winterblink (The Canadian) and Urban Mongral (the Brit) will bring you the goings on in EVE (except for the stuff we miss, forget or deliberately ignore).
Warp Drive Active Podcast is part of the VirginWorlds Podcast Collective
Click here to listen/download Episode 8
Urban gets horribly drunk on Zapatero's expense account at the London EVE gathering, While Winterblink enjoys the continuing madness in Querious.
The big war in the south gets bigger, with IAC and AAA get bolstered by CVA joining their side.
Not to be out done, the FIX & MC half of the war announces their new allies FATAL, Fallen Souls, M.Pire and Cult of War.
MC also have a new toy, A brand spanking new Ragnarok class Titan, much to the surprise of IAC.
The Freelancer Alliance claims they are going to start raiding BOB space. We wait for them to get swatted.
CCP say they are going to remove the market forums but the community successfully launches a mass rabble attack into getting them kept.
Kierons Dev Blog spells out the changes to the volunteer program. The plug gets pulled on CRC (the forum mods) and the events team (Aurora).
For homework this week Blinky would like you to read the Forever War by Joe Haldeman.
In the new "what else are you doing this week" section, Blinky and Urban recounts just how awesome BioShock is which everyone should check out.
The magnificent Crazy Kinux Blog has a really cool article on his EVE wish list. We discuss his list and add a few of our own
Beyond that, just the usual random sidetrackage, gibbering and tinfoil hattery.
Lead out tune "Back Up Against the Wall" by Rancid.

Thanks for the comments, folks. :)
Would like to thank Xeserox of Eden Underground Radio, who hauled me (who subsequently hauled Urban Mongrel) into Skype to go on the air for a little while near the end of his set on Sunday. I recorded my end of things, so maybe we'll cut together a bit of a highlights reel for the next show. :)

Thank you Urban Mongral This how eve was ment to be for the fans and players of eve! Not like some TV group that makes people pay to just see a little bit. How one sided is that. Now we all can dead what is real and going on in eve..

however... romote Doomdays was taken out of the game about 2 months ago guys... remember EON 8? the patch notes for rev2, the dev blog? the threads about titans being useless now? the titan that the goons took out?
how did BOTH of you miss this? ----------------------------------- I'm working my way through college target CCP need...more room... |

Neither of us flies a titan?
I had a nagging voice in my head about that one while we did that bit. Oh well, that can be Urban's correction of the week, next week.

Thanks guys though keep it up, enjoying my weekly podcast. I'm a bit behind on the homework but started on of the books last week and loving it as well.
Edit: (no offence urban but you never seem to actually play any eve, which must make making a podcast on the subject hard )
No offence taken - The never undocking thing is a bit of a running joke, I do play EVE (although not as much as i'd like), just not with the Urban Mongral character for the reasons mentioned.
Your right about the titan's though, looks like we will have another apology of the week! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Glad you know I was only teasing, just seems every intro is
Winterblink "what did you do this week in eve?" Urban "not much"
Still love the podcast though.

I would like to point out that this review is entirely this individuals opinion and it has nothing to do with the fact that I just gave him 55 mil to buy his first domi!
(And no, I'm not giving out any more free money!)
Well it was kinda a little of both.
I just forgot to do it last night after I listened to it, then he bribed me to make the review all the more glowing.

Something to add to the wish list, proper control of ships (ie. not clicking in space, using a joystick/pad/keys instead) but I know that this isn't possible with ther client as it is.

Twitch control would be a different game, less stratigic as well, I like how eve does it tbh.
If you want a twich based shooter try something like jumpgate.

This game is about commanding star ships and building empires not about dogfighting, fun as that may be. I would love to be able to dogfight every once in a while but you're the captain of a giant ship. The captain evaluates the condensed strategic information his officers give him and then order his officers to take the appropriate course of action, he doesn't carry out the orders himself. The pilot pilots, the tactical officer aims weapons and so on, the Captain just says what and where to. The current system where you just order your ship to follow or orbit at a distance is much more realistic than piloting with a joystick, though it could use a few more commands like formations....
