Hey all,
I was doing a mission in a low sec, and some other corp warped to me and gang banged the hell out of me.
1. How did they find me... 2. I thought missions deadspaces were safe from warp-ins?
This just depresses the hell out of me...

They're safer - probes have a much harder time finding things inside a deadspace complex. However, it's still possible. ------------ ULTIMATE LAG SOLUTION IBTL! IBDS/DC! IBTC! 1st in a BoB post! And other such forum tom-foolery. |

They probably used probes to find you, and other players can warp into deadspaces if they know where to go.

If you run missions in low sec:
1. Watch local to see if any hostiles or pirates come into the system. 2. When you warp in drop a jet can immediately. This will hopefully make anyone who comes in cloaked uncloak, at least for a moment. 3. Move away from the warp in point. 4. Stay aligned towards a safespot. 5. If you see someone hostile in local, check your scanner for probes.
Sure, it's a lot of added things on top of dealing with the mission, but it will usually keep your ship alive.

6. Don't bother and do them in high sec, everything is stacked against you running missions in low sec

If low sec missions were safe from warpins, what would be the "low security" part of the system? If warpins were impossible, the only danger would be on jumpin to the system, and that danger could easily be avoided completely with a alt in a shuttle.

So why do people do them? They are worth it if you know what you're doing and dont get killed.

Low-sec mission-running is a calculated risk. It can be worth it if you take the effort to do it right and get a reward or side-benefit that you are specifically looking for (something you can't usually get in high-sec, such as low player population...). However, for many of us (like me) it is a calculated risk that is not worth our value of the rewards. Thus, most of us mission-run in high-sec. I'm guessing by the OP's feelings towards having someone attack them in a mission, they will make the same choice.

Not really. The extra LPs, rewards and any other pros are more than offset by the losses over time and the mission time lost while hiding from/avoiding mission gankers

So people doing missions in low sec are just stupid then? I really doubt that. :)

The arithmetic has been done a hundred times mate. You can find a hi sec agent close enough in quality to to the best available in lo sec that you will make enough in rewards to completely negate any lo sec advantages.

Im just asking, because it seems to me that people have to be stupid to use low sec agents if there are no advantages doing so. Or at least lazy, and assuming there will be advantages without checking out if there really is.
I dont know. Im not convinced everybody running missions in low sec are stupid or lazy. I think it can be worth it if you know what you're doing and dont get yourself killed.

The point is that the measures you have to put in place to avoid being killed will slow down your missioning to the point that you will be able to make more isk/hour in Hi sec where you don't have to take such measures.
It's not that you can't mission in Lo sec, it's just that you can mission more effectively in Hi sec

Agreed.
But I normally do missions solo with a couple accounts... And it's too much work to look after 2 or 3 EVE clients and worry about pirates...
The gains in low sec are offset by the prep work & constant surveillance required to do missions there, including any losses as well.
It's just easier to do them in high sec if you have like an hour here or there to play the game...
