Crazy thing is he will now be buying parts that he did not need which in turn will cause pollution to create...
Kinda crazy that their actions are contributing to the very thing they are against.

There was an article years ago when the first series of humvees were introduced to civilians. ELF set fire to an entire vehicle showroom that was housing like 15 humvees somewhere down in California. Their message was that they wanted to stop pollution that would come from these 15 vehicles that were destroyed.
Not that burning oil, burning gasoline, burning rubber, burning paint, etc. doesn't cause pollution or anything....
But yaknow, the military has more humvees than anyone else. Why don't these guys go vandalize those?

Reminds me of that story I heard about some nuns taking sledge hammers to the silo doors on some missile facility in the middle of Utah. "We're doing whats best for everyo... <kaboom>".

Quote: two masked men scratched into the body: "FOR THE ENVIRON."
I would have thought a Hummer would be big enough to write out the whole word.

As much as I hate the enviromentalist movement (not the enviroment, just the political crap) I also really hate people who drive hummers. I think its the most anti-social vehical ever created. Every time I see one I want to throw a rock at it. However my deep respect for personel property would prevent me from ever doing such a thing.
If these guys had done that to my car, they'd of gotten shot. Totally legal to shoot someone vandalizing your property at night in Texas.

Well, I'm sure that fine young man wanted to use that hummer for it's intended purpose of extreme off-roading in hazardous terrain. I mean, the background of that picture looks pretty hazardous.

I think the funniest thing in the world related to this is Gordon Brown. He's all high-and-mighty ecowarrior, but what do you see him being escorted in around the country? Yep, a fleet of armored Land Rovers, probably the most gas-guzzling car in the UK. ---

Centurion: What's this, then? "Romanes eunt domus"? People called Romanes, they go, the house? Brian: It says, "Romans go home. " Centurion: No it doesn't ! What's the latin for "Roman"? Come on, come on ! Brian: Er, "Romanus" ! Centurion: Vocative plural of "Romanus" is? ...
And so on and so forth.
Well it made me laugh

Heh.
It's a little known fact that if you buy a Prius and drive it for two hours every day, it will in total have polluted more than a Hummer for the same amount of time.
Why? Because building a Prius pollutes a LOT more than a standard car.

My stepsister had one of those with a 454 and nos and she basically handed the keys to a car thief when she took a trip. Needless to say we found the frame and main body about a week later in the hills.
As for Hummer's yeah I hate em too. They look like giant tonka trucks to me. I like the first series though. Still like I said if anyone ever tried vandalizing my vehicles you better hope you can outrun a bullet.

Here in the Emerald valley we are quite familiar with such matters. Just recently in US Federal Court here, a number of activists have been convicted within Federal terrorism sentencing guidelines applied for their involvement with ELF/ALF activities - arson for a cause.
Perhaps more specifically to this thread, one Jeffrey Luers was convicted to 23 years in prison for his involvement in the arson of a local SUV/auto dealership here. This sentence, however, appears to be under review.
Word to those who may deface/destroy vehicles in the name of the environment: there is a precedent for your sentencing, and it is harsh. And of course the act itself is horribly hypocritical.

If someone did that to my car (hypothetically speaking, since I don't own a car), I'd - hmm, need to think about this. What would be the appropriate revenge?
Ideally, it would not only hurt them, but help the environment at the same time.
Maybe sneak into their headquarters, and throw all their posters and pamphlets into the recycling bin. I'd also steal any books, sell them at Half Price Books, and donate the proceeds to a legitimate environmentalist group. ____________________________________ Caldari by birth, Minmatar by citizenship.
