Edited by: Sosus Red on 15/07/2007 14:49:00 Ive been playing since the first month of release. Sometimes I do get burnt out and only log in to train, but that only last about two months. Mostly its been pretty consistent.
I remember the fist time I saw a BS. It was a geddon. I was like, whoa.

That's a good point. I remember being able to tell the difference between zeros and 'o's. Now it's impossible and has been for a while.
What I really miss though is being able to select and target missiles. Torpedoes especially. Added something to it.

Edited by: Ecchus on 15/07/2007 19:57:16 Played since beta 4.
Ecchus was born May 3, 2003.
I've had one hiatus about 3 months long due to a lack of connectivity, but otherwise I've always been here.
I've been a member of the same corp this entire time.
I also have a piece of arkonor that I mined in Ennur on the second week after Live.

I purchased the damn game at "Best Buy" in the US 2 or 3 days after retail (still have the original box. First MMO. First BS seen was Lord Zap showing up in high sec., and everybody (including myself, ****ting themselves). Dual MWD rifters, Oveur with pink wig photos, now BOB being big news for past year or 2, original goon stories, highways, before highways.
Being told (reminded) Sunday morn., leaving Iceland, at the airport cafe, that you was head butting Oveur in his "hard worked for" belly the night before, priceless. Having met / drank beers with some of the best people Ive known.
At one point, I had taken a 6 month break to try WOW (pointless grind IMO, but fun. My second MMO). Also checked out SWG, EQ, D&L, found them all to be pointless ganking or grinding. It goes without saying, that the things you do, relationships you develop in EVE mean something / have a role in how the game grows.
Ive had people ask me, how do you spend 2 or 3 hours at a time throughout the day playing that game? My only answer is, how can they stand spending the same amount of time infront of that stupid ass TV? They sit there like a zombie IMO.
I would suspect that (going to toss out a %) 50 to 60% of "the older account" are still owned by the originals. but with the new buy sale trade forums, guess only ccp could answer that.
My only wish is that they stop introducing new skills! And the new guys ***** . When you new types can expect to only train 6 (yes 6) to lvl 5 within a year, and *****ing, please call me! While im trianing a handfull of skills, your training 50+ skills.
Besides, how could ya quite when ya get mails like this still?, 2007.02.22 18:23 Are you the original man behind buggs, used to fall asleep in a hoarder against asteroids?

I actually listein to EVE-Radio, dont edit!
Qft. I have a feeling the players that have been here the longest, have a more casual playstyle. Doing what we can when we can.
As for news topics, I find it odd and agrevating sometimes to see that things like BoB are all people care about these days. Before we used to have multiple news stories on multiple alliances, and then that all fell apart when BoB moved into delve and fountain. I am having a hard time understanding why some people are so fixated. But that might just be me, BoB does have a good story, and it has been interesting to see it evolve from even before they were relative unknowns.
I hope I didnt just turn this into a bob thread. I do remember dual or triple MWD ships, including Blackbirds. I miss some of the old things we had in eve, I know they don't have any place here and now, but I wish they were back

Sep of 03 so almost 4 years I have seen both good and bad things happen to eve but mainly everything works out in the end though the age of all ships fitting tachyons was my favorite that or when armor tanking didn't work for a while the best thing about eve before the balancing was the crazy setups.

Been playing since October 03, haven't had any breaks although sometimes i've been tempted to.
Remember having 4k players online at peak times, no lag at all. Battleships were a rare thing and must admit i enjoyed the game alot more back then than i do nowadays, its just more exciting when its all new.

Hah... you're not kidding. I remember in beta when for a couple weeks in Heimatar the only ship on the market was probes. So I put some blasters on one and flew 50 jumps to Amarr space (uphill, in the snow, with no shoes, and there were no highway systems) only to get killed by a cheezy NPC I figured I could take cause it was "just a frigate". :P
I take a break every now and then, but considering how much I have invested in this game and my corporation over the years, something with a lot of similarities but very much superior would have to come along to convince me to ever quit. +++ "Etiquette is for the Dojo.
