Originally by: Dau Imperius IN complete disregard to the others here with 0 braincells (more like cancer cells) in their head. Yes, it could work. Again, the PvE content would have to be upped again. Constant warfare from them, start digging into (and perhaps against) the Joves. Faction warfare? You can do that with NPC fleets ganking on your opposing Empire 24/7.
You see, the PvP players in EVE don't get that you can have the sandbox and the dark, grittness without the stupid player problem. The econimies would still be there, people would lose ships to some of the roughest NPC's this side of hell, (and I'd for one get rid of resistances, enough of this tanking rubbish)
It's do-able and I'd say good-bye to those 50% who'd leave because they can't handle it. The other side of the coin. This wouldn't be WoW either. So stop comparing it to that. No 'lfg to storm the keep for my epic' More like: Looking for help for my life! I'm getting swarmed! Ah....*static*
PvE can offer that without the player BS Pvp gives. It's all in the game's design and AI. EnB would still be going on as mentioned before. It had the pvE to make it last, the GAME was the advisary, and it became increasingly hard to get by as they introduced more content. That game would be kicking EVE in the arse if it were still around. (And we all know the player-base would be less inclined to 'duh...me fight otder players...yeah. Everyting else...burn in hell.' Yeah what aa great response. Well thought out. No, really: That shows why they should not be listened to in the first place.
Sir, You want a different game. You apparently do not want to play Eve. I am sorry you feel that it is too difficult due to the player interaction and the different attitudes. You made it clear in your statement that you want tougher npcs this side of hell and you accept loosing your fake digital ships to them. But you refuse to accept this from a PC.
The difference between a NPC and a PC killing your ship is that you are making it personal. And you are making the suggestion to break up a game that many of us has payed for a very long time and have enjoyed because it does not fit your game play.
This game might not be for everyone. It might not be for you.

Originally by: Kethlin There are many carebears in Eve and many that have left. Would you consider a pve server? This would not only reduce the load on your present one and create a new beginning without the ongoing wrangling etc on the present one. The only additions required that I can think of would be to add more npcs to the game. Present players could start with existing skills if desired but no items. This would put all on a more equall basis and for those on the pve server the Bob problem would no longer be an issue. Far less gm supervision, and hopefully, less accusations would be a big plus.
Doesn't this cross the line? It should, and CCP should cancel your account(s) immediately and make sure your credit card is auto-rejected trying to suscribe again...
This thread should be deleted and the server disk that contained this should be burned with napalm, ashes washed away with holy water.

I think people seem to forget without pvper's there is no one to keep demand on ships and modules high. Therefore there would be nothing to do on this non PVP server.

Attitude like this killed Ultima Online back in the days.
Eve is about risk vs. reward and a harsh enviroment with a lot of freedom for the players.
If you dont like it, play another game with more protection for "carebears", we dont want Eve become a sandbox with mommy lingering around all the time to make sure everyone plays nice!

Might have already been said, but cant be bothered to read all 3 pages.
Your separate server already exists. Its called Singularity.
1. Make a second installation of eve. 2. Point that installation on the PVE server by changing tranq to sing in the pulldown menu. 3. you get to keep your stuff. 4. you can fly ANYWHERE you want, and no one will bug you. 5. You can run missions all day. 6. You can mine all you want, the roids will be full of ore. 7. Just stay out of syndicate. There be monsters.

I prefer the idea of CCP developing another space game for the mass market with consensual PVP. They could take an approach similar to WOW and offer PVP/PVE and RP/Regular servers. EVE would be left untouched and would not need to be changed to attract the casual gamers. With this solution CCP keeps all of its integrity and gets all the money too.

WEll, PvP/PvE aside, there is one good point here: EvE may have to rethink the sharding thing soon, assuming that the current trend in dropping membership dosn't continue..

For now... I guess I'm a "carebear" at heart. But, with that in mind, would I support a PvE?
NO!!!
The PvP aspect of EVE is what hooked me, complete with the line and sinker. It's the PvPers that add that level of "randomness" to this excellent game.
Sure, the gankers/pirates can be a pain in the arse, but that what makes EVE... well... errrr... EVE!
