Hey folks, got a nice little setup to throw out there.
Highs: 4x DLP II, 1x Nos (named, of the best variety) Med: MWD II Low: 1x SAR II, 2x HS II, 1x TE II, 1x 200mm Plate (best named)
Rigs: Trimark/Anti-Thermic
Good little setup, 20km optimal hits are always good
If you don't like it, show me something better.
If you whine about ammar, get out! ----

They're only Dual Light Pulses, maybe he can with whatever skills.
This setup doesn't address the following things:
Plate, rigs? You're so slow, even with the mwd a nippy Thorax will outrun you.
When you agress stuff, what then? If they even notice you're shooting at them, they can just leave.
20km optimal on DLPs? GTFO.
I don't have a better setup... cause I don't fly the Retribution in PvP?

Hmm... haven't flown a Ret in a bit, but IIRC, my setup was:
Highs: 4x med pulse IIs
Mids: MWD
Lows: 1x SAR II 1x DCU II 1x HS II 2x "Refuge" adaptative nano plating (best non-energised)
1x Anti-thermic pump I rig
Should give about 200 DPS with good skills. Not as good a range as Foulis' setup though.

Edited by: Foulis on 06/06/2007 03:07:17 I have made several kills flying this ship solo, but yes it is mostly a gang ship. Flown properly this will kill t1 frigates before they have a chance to align.
Speed? over 1 km/s is fine for it, working at gates and as point defense in fleet combat, and I have found that the impact on agility is negligible.
The range is roughly 20km, at least 19 at op plus falloff. DLP IIs + Scorch + TE II + Maxed out gunnery skills.
I have had much experience flying this ship and have found it to be not only fun but VERY effective in combat.
PS: To the person asking about fitting, fits with AWU 5, Engineering 5, Electronics 5 with 2.8 PG to spare, and a little (like .1) over 5 cpu. Callibration isn't an issue.
Deschenus -> I like your setup, definitely a good tank on that one. I personally like the tracking on DLPs especially when I don't have the option of a webifier. But if you can keep a good range and hit you're set. ----

Setups in this thread are terrible
Try these:
4x MPII 1x Named MWD 1x SARII, 3x Heat Sink, 1x Co-proc II
You have 1 mid. You need to gank the living **** out of anything you are fighting, tanking doesnt work when you cant apply points.
Alternatly
4x MP II 1x Named MWD 1x overdrive II, 3x Heat Sink, 1x any co-proc
Or
4x MP II 1x Named MWD 1x overdrive II, 3x Heat Sink, 1x thermal resistance plate
1x Algid energy administration unit[CPU rig]
[This might also fit with a 3% cpu implant if you ditch the rig]
Make sure your navigation skills are tip top. Perferably fly in a gang with a skirmish warfare bonus on and someone with a remote rep. Should hit 1700-1800 m/s with a 16.5km optimal with skills maxed and no gang bonuses. DPS with scorch and a 3% small energy weapons implant is 211.53, and 269 with conflag.
You are still probably better off with a coercer though. Its a tad bit slower, a lot bigger, but has a lot more hit points and is less likly to be targeted. It also tracks better and requires lower skills.
8x MPII 1x MWD 1x MAPC, 1xco-pro, 2x Heat Sink II
16.5km range with scorch, 240.8 DPS with a 3% damage implant, 306 DPS with conflag. ---------------------------------------- Thou Shalt "Pew Pew" |

Worked on one with a mate, I think (pretty sure) this was it;
4 Medium Pulse Laser II 1 1MN Afterburner 1 small armor repper II 1 thermic plating II 2 Heat sink II
Excellent dps.

Sorry, but I just fail to see the reason to use a retribution for PvP, perhaps just for the fun factor.
But from an efficiency standpoint this ship is completely useless for a gang. However, it doesn't change the fact that it is probably the best AF for pve.

Its fun, which is the main reason. Its like a fast pulse coercer[less DPS, better survivability to a point], destroys frigates/inties in small gangs with decent enough range.
And, if nessesary, you can use it for near t1 cruiser level damage[maller/omen type damage, not rupture/thorax type damage].
Also, since t2 mods and the ship itself is cheap, its one of the more cost efficient AFs.[4xMPII, 1x MWD, 1x OD, 3xHSII, 1x co-proc will come to under 10-15m isk if you shop around, about what it will cost to fit a maller] Doesnt insure well unfortounatly.
T1 cruiser is still better at killing anything that isnt a frigate, and a destroyer is better at that still, but the fun factor makes up for it. ---------------------------------------- Thou Shalt "Pew Pew" |

Edited by: Grimpak on 07/06/2007 02:07:41 I prefer using beams on the retri.
50km range ftw.
saves running arround with the mwd hot tbh.
still wish they gave a 5th turret and increase the fittings on the lil' bastid.
mobile turret platform ftw -------

Its good for small gangs, its got great dps and pretty good range both pulse and beam.
I'd prefer to an enyo thats for sure.
