Heyho, I am a big fan of developers working together with their community. As that the right tools to communicate are very important. While developers usually have a lot of tools, the EVE player has only the forum (and CSM) as an official platform to reach out to CCP. (I know you guys are reading blogs and reddit and stuff, but that's not the same)
So, why don't we have a feedback page where people can post ideas, explain them and get them upvoted (maybe downvoted) by the community and/or developers. That way CCP can easily see what is requested and can react to the suggestions. Similar to the Discord "dreamland" page for example.
Sure, there are some things to be aware of when going online with such a page in the EVE community, but I am sure that you can get that going with a few "safety mechanics" ;) |

You underrate the amount of stupid sometimes comes out from things like that, and having people filter through the stupid is a full time job
but the forum page is like that already
if you like an idea you can click like, ccp looks through forums that have lots of likes, granted many times a good solid idea comes along people look at it and don't post on it so it falls out of the eyesight of the community so it never gets enough likes
So I would like to see someone liking an idea to make it go to the top again like when someone posts on it. |

If you don't follow the rules, neither will I.

I am quite aware how CCP handled the feedback right now, as I even stated it in my post. Bit there is a big difference between having a forum and a dedicated feedback page, for both the users and developers. And I would imagine that, while a forum is usually a better platform for long discusion, a feedback page is far more direct and more intuitive. And it allows people to join the process that are not fan of digging through a lot of threads etc. Having both (at best connected) would be the ideal situation.
And yes, of course someone would need to look through those feedback pages - but as they are a lot more clearer as a forum usually is, that should not be so much work that you need another employee for it ;) |
