actually sid'nova the likelihood of hacking is based on the stability of the game engine it is based on. In this case the unreal 3 engine.
Also the "pay to have an advantage" bit is a load of bull. nearly any modern computer of mid to high end can easily run UT3 and the unreal 3 engine. The only difference is for the lower end PCs there are these things called "graphics options" lol that is the beauty of the PC, the ability to change the level of detail in a game. |

1- in 1 week from "now" 2- in less than 1 month 3- in at least one month 4- when we'll have reached the $put_a_number_here subscribers 5- when we'll have at least $put_a_number_here players for each timezone 6- there's no 6 7- we have things to fix with sony (assuming the beta will be running on their servers). As soon as we'll have them fixed we can start deploying the beta for the "elected ones" 8- any other option clarifying something about their technical requirements
So, again, I guess it's really just a "poor communication issue" what we're facing. It wouldn't change a thing to be informed about these basic elements and of course I don't think their plans should change because "we want", just to know something more. A better interaction with the community at this point should only bring more interest (and buzz) so...... why not?

Will i be able to participate in the MPT if i live outside of the UK in the EU or not?
PL is here trolling as always (I hope.... lol that would be pretty stupid like PL otherwise)
What the GM means is that the beta is focusing on their prime demographic which is english speaking countries. Why not english speaking players? well that is complicated but I will go ahead and break it down so no one bitches about this again.
A english speaking country will have a predominant amount of it's citizens speaking english as a primary language. HOWEVER a non english speaking country can still have english speakers in it. For example, lets take some random eastern european country, or middle eastern country, they may have a few english speaking people, but that does not mean the country is worth targeting if they are looking for a LARGE amount of english speakers.
You see, each country has different laws which often require each country (region) to have a separate digital store. Why may you say this? well it is because if a country like Australia decides to ban my little pony funtime adventure for "being too violent" sony can just remove that game from their SPECIAL STORE just for Australia rather than having to do complex region filters, or not have it in the store at all for the world (lol why would they ever do the latter). Lets not forget for non english speaking countries, games offered in the store will also be in their native language.
THIS IS WHY THERE ARE REGION LIMITS!!!!11!11!!!!!!11
~edit: Also thank that facking dev, commander wang not only has an awesome name, but at least he (or his superiors ordering him to) were nice enough to give us the information they did. If you still want to *****, you can go play WoW or any other MMO that has NO dev blogs and LITTLE dev-community interaction. What it comes down to is the more a game developer tells the gamers, the more the gamers complain about the devs not giving enough. In all honesty this is a choice that they made to either try and keep their customers happy and possibly raise profits, OR they love their work so much they love boasting about it (which is perfectly fine too if they do good work) |

Even if you do get it for PC like a year later, or w/e, all the PC users will be in disadvantage from so many points of view (skills, money, power..)...
If it was just another game for XBox or PS I couldnt give a rats furry ballsack but this will affect my eve play.
How many eve players got a console??? How easy would be for those to send isk to the dust char for plex and **** and start training/getting skiils ?
Bottom line is that we either buy consoles or we get left behind.
This is as close to discrimination or slavery as it gets with this industry, without actually been that...
NO PC NO ONE CARES
I for one welcome our new dust overlords ....... which will be me.
u mad bro because you don't have a console? hahahahahahaha he mad, simple as that. Get a job, buy a console, and play. |
