Supposedly this is due to the keyboard/mouse combo being more accurate, faster, ... than console controllers? So what about pitting PS3 users with keyboard/mouse against PS3 users with weird controllers vs PS3 users with vanilla controllers? cause that doesn't seem to be a problem for CCP Quote:WILL CCP BE MAKING SURE THE SHARPSHOOTER/MOVE WILL BE FULLY COMPETITIVE WITH DS3 USERS?
We are dedicated to making a smooth integration for the SONY Move. But we also want to allow choices for the players. Some may prefer DS3, while others may go with Move and still others might want to use keyboard and mouse. We will be providing more details on this later on. http://dust514.org/home/item/everything-we-wanted-to-know-about-dust-514-and-weren-t-afraid-to-ask?category_id=1The PC-only decision is probably due to benefits from the partnership with Sony and due to CCP not wanting to cannibalize the EVE userbase for DUST (would you just play DUST when you would have played other shooters or would DUST make you cut back on your EVE time?). The thing everybody doesn't seem to get is that there is no official keyboard/mouse for ps3 and those 3rd party mouses are hacks that alter the signal to avoid the deadzone for example. It's not something you can prevent people from doing but it's still not a sanctioned action.
You realise it's called a USB keyboard and mouse? It's that same thing you (most likely unless you use PS/2 or [shudder] Serial) use with your computer. It's up to the developer whether they allow them or not. http://www.dust514.org - the unofficial site for everything DUST 514

Good move on saying no to beta key scams. It could have gotten really ugly if you had let that go unchecked. http://www.dust514.org - the unofficial site for everything DUST 514

Flamespar wrote:I'm kinda confused. I got an email saying that I was eligible to sign up for beta access. Then in the fine print I read that only players living in Europe and the US will be granted access. Which sucks as I am in Australia.
CCP what's the deal? Are aussies excluded from the beta?
If so, why bother sending out the emails in the first place, you already have the residential locations of players?
I've said this before, and I'll say it again. Technically, Australia falls under SCEE (Sony Computer Entertainment Europe). Which means that we should still be able to get in with that group. So pick that one and sign up for the beta. http://www.dust514.org - the unofficial site for everything DUST 514

CCP Cmdr Wang wrote:Dear Capsuleers,
Thank you for your interest regarding the DUST 514 MordusGÇÖs Private Trials registration. I would like to take this opportunity to address some of the concerns raised in this thread.
With regards to the MPT availability, currently it is available In English for English speaking regions. So, if English is the official language in your country, you should be able to access DUST 514 MorduGÇÖs Private Trials from the local PSN store in your area. We are, of course, working on localizing the client so that it becomes available in more regions for the Official Launch. So to recount, the DUST 514 Mordu's Private Trials will be in English only for English speaking regions, and our plan is to have localization for the following languages by Official Launch: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish and Japanese.
And remember, the DUST 514 MorduGÇÖs Private Trials is still in the registration phase, and that is open to all EVE Online players.
With regards to the DUST 514 MorduGÇÖs Private Trials registration confirmation issue, we will be adding a status page to the EVE Online account management page for those who have signed up to participate in the DUST 514 MorduGÇÖs Private Trials, so you can keep tabs on the status of your registration.
Thank you for your patience and continued support.
CCP Cmdr Wang
And the DUST 514 Team
So that means that Australia is going to be able to get in the private trials?
Also, is the status page live yet? I can't see it anywhere. http://www.dust514.org - the unofficial site for everything DUST 514

Alright, let me help clear up the waters.
According to the conditions on the sign up page, it says anyone in those areas is welcome to sign up. HOWEVER, it also states that the Private Trial will be conducted in English. Basically, as long as you're in one of those areas and you can understand English, you should be able to get in. http://www.dust514.org - the unofficial site for everything DUST 514
