Edited by: Daedal Virtu on 20/02/2007 03:39:05 Edited by: Daedal Virtu on 20/02/2007 03:38:41 I would like to understand why CCP have made the decision that you should not be able to expel hostiles from a player owned outpost.
In FLA we have had a problem for a very long time now of a person that was docked in a player conquerable outpost in 3JM9-Q before we took over it and is messing with the market. Many petitions have been made and we have been told that this is the game functioning as intended, which I understand and agree with.
From an RP perspective (yes im one of those players that prefers it that way) id like an explanation of why a player cannot be expelled from a station that you have control over and can stay there, without undocking ever, and systematically destroy the market and economy of an entire region.
Apparently this is an intended game mechanic?
All I want to know is why people who own outposts should not be able to eject enemy's from them after they are conquered. Now im guessing this hasn't really been a problem so far, however om sure it will become a larger one now that outposts are changing hands more regularly.

Doesn't really matter, since you can still use the market without being docked.
About the only thing this gives is the ability to see who's docked for intel purposes.

Apparently you have never operated a station.
If they are in space we can pod and remove them, they also can't collect the items that they have purchased and put them back up on the market at inflated prices.
You try to keep the prices as close to empire in your production as possible, practices like this inflate the prices so that ravens we were selling at 80-90mil are 110 - 120.
The problem is that CCP is preventing us from being able to do anything about this problem. Effectively saying that we cant do anything to fix it, but stop the market. If you pod him, nothing stops him from coming back if he's into economic warfare. And he can infact put stuff back on market even from outside the station.
It's called economic warfare, and VERY effecitve. The only advice I can give you, is to only setup contracts to your alliance/corp and thus make it impossible for him to buy stuff. It's a hassle, and takes longer than selling stuff on market, but your customers will thank you... _______________

Its a standard tactic to buyout cheap goods in enemy territory and put it back at higher prices. If you want to provide your alliance with discounts then either sell at higher than average prices and give discounts after goods are purchased, or use closed methods of sale like contracts.
As for enemies being docked inside a captured station, im guessing alts in this case, if you remove the market warfare then there isnt really much more they can do besides getting accurate local numbers and listening in on idle chatter.
Theres no need to eject enemies from conquered stations, short of them being camped 23/7 or them being alts I imagine most would leave of their own accord; since being trapped inside a station you cant use isnt exactly the most riveting gameplay. Theres also the added fact that once you leave an enemy station there's no redocking, most people want to at least be able to choose what ship and assets they take with them.
Your problem is with alts using a perfectly legitimate (regardless of how lame you think it is) tactic to hurt your alliance. IMO that isnt grounds for providing the ability for you to physically eject them, especially when the tools are already available for you to deal with the problem. -

Sure they can. Level 5 marketing skill - you can sell anything remotely anywhere in the region. They can be logged 12 jumps from you, log in, sell all they bought, and log back out. It requires no skill at all to buy remotely anywhere within a region.

How about making market services tied to other station services. If you the corp doesnt like you, you are unable to buy/sell from that station. ------------------- |

I do not get it, you have your own station and you complain? ...
If you do not have the economic power as alliance to make this trade war a loss for your opponent, then you should not own that station at all. If you do not want to use alliance contracts, then try an "after-sale-discount" for alliance members. You simply put the stuff on the market for high prices, so your opponent does not buy it up.
When some alliance buddy bought eg. a raven, he mails the seller, "hey, i am your alliance buddy, give me my discount, please."
You can use an alliance internal WTS/WTB-Forum, to establish trades. eg. X: WTB Raven Y: Raven (alliance-)escrowed at empire prices.
There are a lot more options to weaken your opponent, other than shuting down your own market!

It's quite obvious that you don't get it. The owner of a station can control who has access to the station. Thus the owner is able to decide who can and can not dock. Clearly that functionality gives one the opportunity to prevent undesirables from docking with the station.
However, currently the owner of a station has no way to remove undesirables if they were docked with the station prior to the takeover.
Since the current game functionaliy supports denial of docking rights, it follows that a station owner should have the ability to remove undesirables from the station.

To no surprise your argument is logically flawed as willingness and ability to engage in trade war have no relationship to taking and defending a station structure.

As have the ability to deny docking rights to a player and the ability to undock a player...
@Daedal: I don't quite understand: What do you mean with the person isn't even a hostile? |
