That all online game makers do not care about customer satifaction. They are in business to make money end of conversation. They are in world to themselfs they dont have true customers like target, best buy , etc. Who is going to fly to iceland or across the usa to complain about unhappy game play thats right no one.
If they make a good game people will play, just last nite there were over 27k playing this game just like there always is nothing has changed hell i be 1/2 of the player base doesnt know what is going on cause most dont read these forums or are in a corp. The only real tool we have as a player base is to vote with our money. Online game makers dont care if 500 people quit or 1000 hell i bet CCP wouldnt care if 2000 quit cause they make a good game and other people will try it, Hell SWG is still gettting new players to play cause it says STAR WARS.
There are no realy ways for us to voice our opioins we dont own the game we dont work for it, we just spend our time playing and thats it. The only option that online plays have is to quit in mass numbers and that isnt going to happen we are sheep and keep playing sure some will quit many have but still 27k are playing and will continue to play.
If anyone has any real ideas other than quit of how we can change online games i up for a good conversation cause there is no other way. Online game makers just dont care realy they just want to make money and make a game people play
I am sure this tread will get locks and just will go to the pt that they realy dont care. Cheers

So what you're basically saying is CCP, since they are in it to make money, won't care if a minority quit as long as the majority are still happy.
Stunning revelation you got there. ----------

Change the game ?
I think it's quite nice that EVE can't be easily changed by unsatisfied customers, otherwise EVE would be a carebear game already ... and probably dead in 2 years, because everything would be pointless and the carebears would switch to the next carebear game.

I'm going to take a wild guess that this is about the develop who cheated to support his play character. If not then I guess you petitioned something and haven't got an answer back yet, but I'll stick with the dev bit.
One developer cheated. CCP have formed a new department to handle any future cases of staff misconduct in response. The CEO has made a public statement. All of this is availiable to read on these forums or for those who dont read them in the dev blogs which are accessible in game.
One staff member acting badly does not mean the entire company is ripping us off. Should we be angry? Dissapointed? yes. I am.
But it was an isolated incident, It doesn't mean that everyone in CCP is just trying to screw you, and me, over. These forum's are read by dev's, and they respond. Just because they don't post in every thread and grovel doesn't mean that they aren't taking things seriously.

Yes it all sounds great. At which point eve becomes a cookie cutter mmorpg a perfect carbon copy of every other dull game out there.
player driven galaxy nah we dont need that. Actual loses when we die nah that sucks too.
I totally agree i think we should strip this game of its uniqueness. Then as an extra measure we should change all the asteroids from veldspar into Copper and thorium ores. Ohh and the guristas to murlocs and mad dwarfs.
Listening CCP this guy and I are onto something here.
;) hahaha
Seriously though CCP have a vision of how they want eve to be and by in large they follow that vision to the letter. However to say that they dont listen to the players is completely wrong, when something is obviously broken people do run to the forums baying for blood. CCP at this point do take notice and eventually those changes (IF) they make sense and (IF) they contribute to the game and there vision of eve then it will be applied.
Constantly altering a game because some numpty wants 9 hi slots on his shuttle is just crazy! If he screams hes gonna quick. Hell i'd laugh and wave him off, hed likely only appear in a WoW forum complaining that he couldnt hold 3 swords at once. ;)

Might have got the wrong idea so please correct me if I am..
It could be said for anything you have to pay to use on a monthly basis...
If NTL were to turn around tomorrow and go.. Were doubling our prices and slashing the speeds of your internet. I'd quit, but that would be 1 of 2 options i could take, the other of course is along the same lines is being locked in a jail with a few members of the MGRL.
Other then quitting we have no say, no power, no magic jedi hand waves... were customers of a service from a provider.. it's the way the world works.. ------------------------------------------

do you know any other mmorpgs where the devs are actually reading the community forums? NO THERE ARENT ANY BESIDES EVE:) so the chances that you can gain some influence in the developement of a game while not working for the game makers company, are best if you play eve and voice your opinion here on the forums.

In both cases EVE would lose its special touch. I don't stay in EVE, because it's about space ships, but mainly because it's a 'sandbox', where other players are the most important part of the environment and there are no GMs and devs, who tell you all the time, how to play or not to play. I can be what I want and follow my goals like I want, others too and everyone has to deal with it somehow ... And if someone doesn't like it, I'm sure he finds a game that suits him more. That makes EVE quite unique.

Except... Eve IS easely changed by unsatisfied customers and EVE IS becoming more and more of a carebear game... At least thats been the development since 03 :P
I personally think there is to much focus on changing instead of fixing (ECM development since 03 for example). And I`ve learned to fear changes as they usually open up for bugs and exploits and unintended gameplay of different kinds.
Nano fever anyone?
Eve has allways been govened by the forum mob as devs seem to try satisfy the mob.
To be honest I`d rather have a game where the devs made changes/fixes based on their own knowledge rather than by the whims of the mob.
Now everyone goes to whine on the forum because they discover that it works and no matter what CCP do the whining will just increase.
I personally enjoy whining on the forum a lot when I`m boored :D

Quitting a game doesn't get your voice heard, infact it is just some stupid childish way out. Just talk about what you want changed alot, without spamming. Sure it takes a while but if you want something implemented they can't just change the game overnight. It takes a lot of coding and bug testing to implement something new. --------

If affairs like that pop up repeatedly, they'll lose all their credibility, players leave and the negative publicity will stop people from joining. It will cost them a lot of money at some point, if they don't do their best that such things don't happen more often.
I'm quite sure that people like Oveur care more about the success of EVE than about the desire of some dev(s) to cheat a bit. (*edit* reworded)

So this is another thread about the cheeting thing with bob.
Well yeah its sad but dont exaggerate. Just because every nub on the forum like to talk about Bob doesnt mean their such an important part ov eve as a whole. their just a tiny part mere 1k players. And thouse bpos that were stolen? what was their value? 100 bill maby? in alliance warfare there are single battles whre more is at stake. It frankly doesnt matter that much in the big picture.
Persoanlly I`m way to distanced as I havent flown with nor fought bob since 04 so I dont care.
There is no big issue just a ton of ppl hyping it up. And the whole cheeting thing just makes me go "lol nubs" @ bob rather than anything else.. I play the game and know its possible to achive great things without cheeting.

The only thing with EVE is I got the impression in the beginning they did care.
CCP still pretend to care but then go and do something twice as a bad the following month. In my mind this is worse becaue they're treating the player base like idiots. Its like the Government you know they tell fibs, they know you know they tell fibs but they do it anyway, which in the end is an insult.
At least you know where you stand with other companies they don't give a toss at any stage. /start sig I love old characters that post 'I've beeen playing the game three years' when I know their account has been sold on. /end sig |

I was partly responsible for a certain online game developer getting off their backsides and adding a useful emote to their game... NOW tell me that! Thankyou...

1. Post with your main and stop this retarded idea of using an alt..whats the deal with that anyway? I always post with my main, I'm not afraid of my own opinions..it seems to me that you are, which is a little sad.
2. CCP has done a whole crap load of stuff inorder to keep you more informed on what they're doing, why they're doing it and how they're doing it. What more do you want? A net of security cameras that you can access only to watch every keystroke and toilet visit done by CCP employees?
3. The very notion that CCP doesn't give us any way to voice our opinion, is absurd..they made a big thread about recent events where we could comment. They appointed a guy to a new position of internal affairs. They created a thread specifically for this guy to answer questions.
You can't possibly blame CCP that there are a lot of people who don't read this forum, how the hell is that their fault? Some people are just happy playing the game regardless of whatever goes on around them. One of my RL friends (ingame name: illiden) never reads these forums..cause he doesn't care..he just wants to play the game.
4. "no option to make them come clean" I believe is what you wanted to say..which just simply isn't true. We have tons of options...options I have already explained. However "coming clean" doesn't mean you can make them admit to things they didn't do..and if you aren't satisfied with that, then theres nothing you can do...I know I would never want to admit to something I haven't done. Not even if you kept asking me over and over for the rest of my life. - New sig in the workings -Knowledge is a priviledge, not a right - ....*steals a cookie from the ISD cookie yarr* >_> |

I'm quite happy with the way EVE is.Sure loggers and nanoships **** you off and yes sometimes lag is bad or horrible and yes there is a imbalance between races. But in my opinion EVEs good sides outweight it's bad sides so i will ****inue playing for as long as i can.
