Using identical fits as my standard Tempest and using the extra lowslot for a Gyrostab, the standard Tempest still does marginally more DPS. I suppose you could fit more tank so that is scales better in large fleets but we all know the Typhoon and Mach are preferred due to their application bonus. So what's the point of this ship?
Why not go the way of the Firetail and Stabber Fleet Issue and now the Hurricane Fleet Issue and give the Tempest Fleet Issue a tracking bonus and merge the current two damage bonuses? |

Its got more fitting so you can fit tank+1400s. You could argue you could do the same thing on t1, but the TFI has a large base armor HP pool. Id like to say PL uses them, or used to use them.
Outside of that, ive got a solo triple rep fit that tanks around 1700dps. Dps is pretty **** for a BS though (750ish).
Overall, i agree, it could use some loving to differentiate it from the t1 pest. Id say the tracking bonus is a good start.
Navy phoon could have a look at its second bonus too. No one uses projectiles on it, since the t1 pest gets a damage bonus with the same RoF bonus, and pest FI still does more damage.

make it a tracking boat like a HFI, so 10% tracking and ROF bonus and focus it on armour give it a 7th turret 100mb drones
T3's need to be versatile not have T2 resists, OP dps and tank obsoleting T2 ships entirely.
ABC's should be T2, remove drone assist, separate HAM's and Torps range, -3 highslots for droneboats

they bumped the regular tempest as an experiment and when we asked (myself included) if they were simularly buffing the TFI and vargur then answer was "nope" which was at the time explained as a "this is an experiment and will not stay for long" presumably to see if making a cheap battleship deal a boatload more damage would see it get used as more of a line docterine or in other metrics.
Guess we'll justr have to wait until they finish doing whatever they are doing in iceland:) |

Still think there's room for an 8 gun version.

The point behind the Tempest Fleet Issue is so you can look upon that beast and have to go change your underpants.

The Tempest buff wasn't a temporary buff, it was given as the Tempest was one of the least used BS and needed a buff so they increased the damage bonus.
I agree with earlier posts, the TFI should probably get the HFI treatment, the standard t1 hurricane puts out more DPS than the HFI, but the HFI has better application, fitting, extra high, and much more EHP.

Easy.. the navy apoc took 1 whole year to recieve the same bonus ad the normal one (it used to have 25% more cap). I bet CCP has some special plan for the TFI with a completely different set of bonuses.

That is NOT what they said. They said they will be revisiting all battleships in a not so long time.
