Venture is a popular and versatile ship, one of its roles is the transport of large amounts of ore, becoming a "pocket industrial" fast, elusive and discret.
In fact, miners and industrials need a "mineral venture", especialized in mineral transport. Other possibilities is the old venture can manage minerals in her ore cargo
PD: a blue skin for the venture is other great idea. |

Also, I believe the ship you are looking for is the "Kyros". Alternatively, any of what were the Tier 1 industrials.
A Wreathe, for example, can carry more minerals than a Venture can carry in ore, align in four seconds or less, with two warp core stabilizers, and can fit a cloak and oversized micro warp drive. That should be everything you need right there.

I think you should try the Miasmos. Also the blue skin is already used for the new Endurance. |

What we need is a proper small industrial, a frigate-sized ship that's actually built for hauling. We don't need more haulers with specialized bays.
Ellendras Silver wrote:no they don't that is a job for haulers, orca and rorqual An Oxford comma would change the meaning of your post significantly, and for the better I might add.
Pirate ship Nightmare, can you fathom
Larger but with smaller spikes than Phantasm
The Succubus looks meaner
But the Revenant cleaner
Seems as they get bigger, the smaller spikes they has'm

When properly fit, they can haul well over 1k m3 in their hold.

When properly fit, they can haul well over 1k m3 in their hold. That's nothing. A fast T1 industrial can haul close to 20,000m3 when fully fit for cargo, even a Blockade Runner can carry around 12,000m3.
A proper frigate-sized hauler would haul around 5,000m3 when fully fit for cargo. It should haul over 1,000m3 without any cargo mods.

While I don't agree that a frigate sized hauler is needed, I will point out that a t1 industrial is 10-15 times larger than a t1 frigate, so no way should a frigate sized hauler be able to haul a quarter of an industrial. 2k m3, maybe 2.5k, but definitly not 5k. Remember, you're talking standard cargohold, not a specialized bay.

Since when CCP make issue with physic? They manage to squise 15 000 m3 specialised cargo bay into T2 mining frigate (still 2500 m3 packed). What really bothers me is the possibility to sneak small pos into frigate only WH if those new frigate sized haulers will come.

any of the T1 exploration hulls would work for this.... though I think the magnate is best - fill the lows with cargo expanders, and it still aligns damn quick, with approx 1k cargo-hold, plenty enough for minerals for a frigate
For posting an idea into F&I:
come up with idea, try and think how people could abuse this, try to fix your idea - loop the process until you can't see how it could be abused, then post to the forums to let us figure out how to abuse it.....
If your idea can be abused, it WILL be.

A magnate can reach 1200m3 with the apropiate fit (even more with rigs), but the problem is the same... 5000m3 of compresed ore is very much ore, 1200m3 of mineral (mineral cant be comprimed) is practicaly nothing.
The game have a hollow in transport capacity beetween the t1 frigates and t1 industrials, where you must choose secure travel with bits of nothing, or risk (much) a whole week of work.
The frigate industrial (industrial size S) is a interesing idea. |

Anyway, my own personal light hauler has become the Hecate. Insta-warp when in prop mode (with high skills), 1.7k m3 with 4x expanders and 2x T2 cargo rigs, pulls 5.6 AU / sec with a T2 hyperspat, and can fit a decent shield tank along with a 5mn and an improved cloak for emergencies.
A bit expensive for a light hauler, to be sure, but when moving expensive stock around lowsec, I find I like it better than an Ares.
