Originally by: Zhaine This isn't a flame, I don't have anything against BoB, just pointing out the issue here.
If I had spelled out, action by action, what we had done this week and how we had accomplished it, it would have removed from the point of the post - the post was one of information, not of explanation, that is generally what we would use the rest of the thread for.
Besides which, it's funnier watching ASCN whine about it. It's not as if we were ever going to hide the fact, is it?

Actually "people" didn't say it's fair play. It was mostly BoB members who said it.
Originally by: Dianabolic We are VERY open about the fact that we use ALL the abilities that CCP provide for us, there is NOTHING we will not do, within legal game mechanics, purely because we CAN.
We will not fight with one hand tied behind our back, if others wish to do so then fair enough, but I have little sympathy when the box (as it was when I started playing) promotes EXACTLY this kind of behaviour.
Don't get mad, get even.
If you bought out a regular ASCN player it would be fine. Evil but fine.
BUT when you use a different account and perhaps even a character you bought with absolutly no connection with you main to infiltrate an alliance/a corperation you are breaking the immersion BoB normally is so keen about.
And whats the point of playing a game of you resort to such means? You don't play "poker" with two stashes of chips.

I'm just a dreamer tbh, this game needs alliances like ASCN/AAA/D2/IRON/RA/LV/V etc to unite and fight the greatest threat. Once thats done they can go back to their own slightly petty disputes (in comparison).
Wouldn't that just be fantastic? Instead we're all too interested in quibbling over isk, crappy regions and complexes.
I'm sure pretty much all of us love Star Wars, without getting into one of those silly 'theres no black and white in eve' arguments wouldn't it be great if the forces of light grey united to overthrow darker grey?
I'm just of the opinion that a 'world war' is precisely what this game needs, I doubt BoB would disagree as they're so desperate for a challenge.

You've just destroyed 2 months of propaganda and smear campaigns against ASCNs High Command, you've shown the entire Eve Community that everything CYVOK and John have been saying is true. Everything you've ever said about fair play, fair fights is nonsense.
I notice alot of BoB members stated their disgust of corp thieves in the other thread; thats precisely what BoBs leadership have done. They stole POS fuel, construction minerals using their spy and then offlined all the towers. Corp thievery, not just of assets, but an entire outpost.
And for the record, if ASCN ever used a spy to offline towers to get ahead in a war I and I'd imagine allot of others would leave. Notice during the war with Tribe we were offered by several directors to offline towers and we never did.
I hope that this swings back and hits you in the face, if there was ever anything you could do to motivate ASCNs membership to unite and fight playing in such a manner as you have today would be it.
BoB, as an alliance, has today lost all the respect I had for it. I will never put anything past you again.

Quite a few BoB members should step back for a moment and think about what they are actually saying.
PS: all comments about who this shouldn't surprise anybody are missing the point. While you are right it's not a surprise, it's still lame. And while others do lame things doesn't mean doing them yourself is fine.

No they didn't. Some of the Tribe people offered to offline them, but ASCN refused to accept it.

To get ahead in a war you need to do WHATEVER it takes, within the rules of the game ofc.
You need to think of the big picture. You need to do the bad things. History is written by the victors. So you do the n0rty things then if you win you get to re-write the history books.
However if you are not willing to do these things you will inevitably be relegated to a small paragraph in the EvE-Online history books.

Be stuff if I am paying 15 bucks a month for that kind of crap.
kELDON
If 1 person has offlined load of POS and cleared out hangers, then it comes down one of two things:
1) Someone was real stupid and let a low ranking, new member of corp have lots of rights to POS, Hangers, etc. Which means some leader of said corp needs to hold his hands up and say sorry to rest of his guys for haveing such lax security.
2)It was a trusted High ranking member who had access to hangers and POS, etc. If this is so, then someone spent long time spying and getting in the position of trust in corp to be able to do this.
If its number 1, then said corps own fault for being stupid. If its number 2 then congrats to someone spending months working his/her way up the ladder of target corp. Takes time and effort.
Game allows for spys. Our corp security is as tight as possible to make sure this soret of thing can not happen.

Oh, one of BoB leaders again with another monumental post, meant to take place in history But actually, the bottom line is - BoB used cheap tactics, possibly involving account hijacking or account sharing, which are both bannable offenses. I don't hold my breath that some action will be taken by CCP though.
So, what happened? BoB has sticked that lone POS in AZN and saw that it's going nowhere? That they won't have the stamina and resources to fight properly over every single outpost we have? Actually the fact that they resolved to lowest tricks and stunts possible says a lot.
I'm sure, that most ASCN pilots share my opinion. And my opinion is that this little dirty trick just strengthened the resolve of ASCN pilots to fight you untill the very end of this war, be it 1 more month or 1 more year, with even more resolve and ferocity.
We see now, that we are here against a type of opponent who will quietly punch you in the face on a pitch if the ref is not looking their way, and then will step back with that stupid smiley face, saying: "Me? I did nothing...".

Completely Signed. I think BoB have lost more in their reputation than they gained in one system today. I won't be happy until they have no stations left. Why don't you help them instead of laughing it up in your cozy northern nest?
BoB would be gone by now if you and your friends oop north could be arsed. Instead they're going to slowly work their way round the map felling alliances one by one and they have no love for IRON trust me.
All it would take is a temporary alliance and these people you dislike on the forums so much would be put in their place.
Fight.
Well i agree, i wanted IRON + like the entire north to just nap ASCN and help them.
Unfortunatly the fact that i hardly play makes my opinion redundant (which is fair enough i suppose). No i cant be arsed to put the effort in. Its a game, who cares. ------------------

Originally by: Moghydin Oh, one of BoB leaders again with another monumental post, meant to take place in history But actually, the bottom line is - BoB used cheap tactics, possibly involving account hijacking or account sharing, which are both bannable offenses.
ISK loss is temporary, loss of respect is permanent.
You're seriously taking this game way too far by accusing people of doing illegal stuff out of game. It's something which can have serious consequences out of the same game, and all this because you're losing in-game seriously, that's pathetic. |

Spies downing POS's and stealing blueprints and then bragging about here. Very lame. If there is a line to be crossed in this game I think this comes very close.
This empire noob is rooting for ASCN now. Hope you guys can keep it together. ---

Completely Signed. I think BoB have lost more in their reputation than they gained in one system today. I won't be happy until they have no stations left. You're no better than RA, AAA, Burn Eden or any of the other alliances that have a reputation for metagaming/lame gamestyles. Welcome to the lowest of the low.
WTF are you talking about, RA, us and burn eden all have way better rep then bob ------ Your signature is too large. Please see the Forum Rules for the limits - Serathu ([email protected])
