Er...From This Link It says....
RED= good scan (high chance of good accuracy) Yellow = medium scan (medium chance of good accuracy) Greed = bad scan (low chance of good accuracy)
Aren't red and green the wrong way around? In most cacses where red and green are used to indicate exactly the OPPOSITE:
RED = BAD / STOP / WRONG GREEN = GOOD / GO / OK
Please do this (presumably) simple fix before release otherwise the colours are counter intuitive and in the heat of battle....

Man, this is going to screw up my scanning for about a year. Red and green lights are a central instinct in life.
Are they different in Iceland?!

Is scanning now so easy we're relying on people to get confused by ridiculous UI color choices?

Let me put it this way - I have Astrometrics II, and have never probed down a ship before. This morning, on SISI, I tracked a little Ibis in his safespot in about 2 minutes.
Its easy, not totally intuitive, but easy.

I really have to try that new scanning thing....and yes, switch the colors please. Red means good? Since when? --- Eve Wiki | Eve Tribune | Eve Pirate |

Seriously, its awesome, when I was done with my scanning cycle, I had a choice of over 20 ships I could warp to in my 5AU radius, and could see their locations on my 3D solar system map. I have to give CCP credit, this is going to revolutionize safespots, I'm sure as hell not afking in space anymore.

OOH! That implies a typo on the Patch notes! I sure hope so.

Sounds Good / Bad (depends if you're a carebear or not). Looking forward to it, myself.

I'm excited. And by excited I mean I've trained Astrometrics in advance for this. And by trained in advance I mean come Wednesday I already have a list of people who have been hiding in SS's who are going to die.

I trained Gang skills, Astrometrics was on the list for this month along with CovOps and Cloaking before I had to redirect for the tourney , so I'm kind of kicking myself for not getting a chance to play with them extensively.
Just like I can't salvage thanks to no Survey 5 .

You need it if the target is in a deep safe or if you want do exploration as the probes needed require astro 5. But otherwise it's useless yes, the scan group bonus is mostly worthless.
As for the colors it's not like it really matters, in all the probe testing I did I never cared about the colors, what you look at is the signal strength and accuracy listed in the scanner window. ---------------------------------------- A Guide to Scan Probing in Revelations |

Me too. The samples in the linked thread are indistinguishable to me. I'm hoping there's a tooltip or other way to see the actual values, otherwise the ten percent of us with color vision issues are scrod.
I do wish CCP would stop using red and green as vital interface elements. It's just not that hard to choose colors that work for almost everybody.

As Hoshi says, the colours are irrelevant - the only things that are of interest on the icons on the map are their range, which lets you correlate it with the signal strength readout in the scanner.

I can understand and symapthise with the red/green colour blind folks but to say the colours are irrelevant - I just don't get that. Why bother with colour to indicate anything anywhere then?
Anywayz back to my OP - Is this colour thing a typo?

Its not a traffic light system.I believe the colour system is to indicate strength i.e. how HOT the contact is.
Red - very, yellow - not so, green - cool.
Like the childrens game where the closer you get to the hidden object the 'hider' gives you cues such as:
warm - warmer - getting hot - roasting.
Absurdity, n.: A statement or belief manifestly inconsistent with one's own opinion.

Good and bad rating on scan accuracy depends on your point of view.
It differs widely between the one scanning and the one being scanned. --*=*=*--

Yes sure, people are to cruel in EVE, so the devs want us to experience eve with the eyes of the victim in Kali, so that we are nicer to eachother.

Just red could be used to indicate good, and just green could be used to indicate bad, but when the two are used together to indicate two different states, the meaning of each is pretty fixed.... ----------
