...and how far along are QA with Kali? I am getting a wee bit impatient.
Nah, not really I was merely wondering if anyone has heard or seen anything about the release date for Kali? (I have been sort of out of the loop for a while.)
Or perhaps I just jinxed everything. I know that there are issues with TQ that need to be ironed out.
(Just read a crapload of Devblogs and all I can say is: "Yay for CCP/Oveur/Tux/Kieron/GM's and the other gals and dudes in ISD/Aurora/well-you-know-who-you-are." And sometimes: "Boo, we are drooling too much over here. Bring on the 'cake' gosh darn it. And spiffy up yer CRM a bit." )
Otherwise, smooth flying all.

atm sisi is busing testing/ironing out the issues that currently plage EVE (node drops, POS lagstars, etc).
after they solve the problems, they will start the public testing of kali.
after that, maybe 1 month later, so I'm expecting a kali release probably by end of november, or december. -------

Depends on how you define "Q4 2006"... Q4 2006 could have ended a couple days ago and we could be in Q1 2007, or we could still be in Q2 2006...

They should wait as long as necessary. Hopefully into next year.
New Release on top of unstable system = Very unstable system
They have made some good progress stabilising things in the past few weeks and should really stay on that path until all the major issues are fixed. Then look at Kali. It has nothing we can't wait for.

Up until this week, I was losing connection approximately 15 to 20 times an hour, regardless of where I was or what I was doing; this has now been fixed!
I can cope with another few weeks of no Kali as long as it stays stable enough for me to not lose my shiny prophecy

Yup, saw that...will be there as soon as I get home after work. Been out of the loop and not on Sisi in ages. But I'll get a Sisi client rigged and logged in. More people needed for this. Lets bust Sisi's balls if we can.

Grimpak (and Monash), I wholeheartedly agree with fixing stability issues before any additional content.
Will join in on testing Sisi cluster later today. I just wanted a heads up on how things stand. ---------------------------------------------------- "Ruck, Tackle and Maul. And thats just getting a Beer" |

Yes, yes, that is all well and good you little troll. But for arguments sake lets say that it is based on a standard calendar year, i.e. Jan - Dec.

No troll intended... just pointing out that CCP might not actually be 2 quarters behind schedule as you suggest. I'm pretty sure the UK is still in Q2 2006, on the other hand the US is in Q1 2007 and Iceland is in Q4 2006. I honestly have no idea what CCP meant by Q2 2006 from their press release since Q2 2006 is different depending on which country you are in.
We can assume that this is Q4 2006 as you say, but that doesn't mean that CCP is using that definition in their press release.

tbh, I will prefer for the new expansion to be as ready as possible and as much tested as possible.
Why ? Cause I don't (and I know that EVERYONE doesn't including everyone working in CCP) want to see yet another Shiva (Exodus) launch. A delay in production even with 1 day may end in revealing a very serious bug that could render the servers or many aspects of the game in a "not so good" situation.
I don't have any problem with them adding more and more stuff to the game, aslong as it doesn't distract other people working in other departments (e.g. the new BC/BS classes aswell as all the new graphics have mostly the art department involved than they will have the bug hunting department) too much in the level of leaving their work on todays client to work on the new content patch. _____________________________

There is only one phrase you need address.
It will be out Soon™ For some reason the fact that ~50% of the people replying to the thread fail to read and understand the point of the OP is hilarious. |

We are hoping for a release before December. Our original plan was for a much earlier release, but TQ's recent health issues has been soaking up Dev time. That and we do not want to compound troubleshooting difficulties by placing such a large game update over the existing issues.
Believe me when I say we are just as impatient to get the first part of Revelations out to the community. Feature freeze is just around the corner, as is public testing on Singularity.

I haven't done nearly enough in RMR to justify being impatient for Kali. Hell, I've never even done COSMOS missions, and I still don't feel I fly enough ships yet.
Kali can wait a little longer for me ----- Griffin -- 100,000 ISK ECM - Multispectral Jammer Is -- 20,000 ISK Standar Missile Launcher Is -- 10,000 ISK War target sobbing over losing a fight in his T2 fitted Battleship -- priceless |

Shiva was scheduled for what, May '04? It released as Exodus in November '04 and should have been delayed longer.
I'm more then content to wait as long as necessary for proper Q&A, I dont want an automatic ship refund (OMGFREEMONEY) week again. A working patch is better then an early patch.
