Wow, You didn't get through one tutorial without having to come to the forums? Did you read what they had to say of just skim through the explanation? I got though every single one with no problems... I just don't see how someone could get hung up.

What are you talking about? I did my tutorials with help from the rookie channel. Trolling and RMT bots aside you need to have the skills necessary to not get misinformation. |

The tutorial's not perfect, but it doesn't require coming to the forums for every single one. From last time I trained up an alt, most people asking for help in the rookie help need one or two pointers at most, if that.
It does require reading carefully everything that Aura says, everything that the career agents say. Click-click-click through the tutorial like one does in most games is a one way trip to frustrationville.
The tutorial doesn't hold your hand, which is good because the game doesn't either. |

Judging EVE by its tutorials is bad, you'll spend less than 0.001% of your Eve life doing those.
Get them done so you can learn some game mechanics and after that join a corp and start enjoying Eve. |

Frankly they should just scrap the current tutorial and return back to good'ol days where you started in space a pod in a middle of nowhere and tutorial was "that's a pirate, now shoot it" and "that's a rock, now mine it".

I recently went back through the tutorials on a new toon, out of sheer boredom. If you really could not handle "fly there and shoot that" without hand holding, then you are seriously not cut out foe EvE, or any MMO. I think you should come back Marites Visande. The game is fun, more fun then even the forums. You should read what the tutorial agents are saying if you decide to do them though because Eve is a somewhat complected game. You should also look for a corporation to join. |

I see the sarcastic responses are already covered, so how about a more reasonable one: Try joining Eve University. They'll get you through some of the basics and you'll find the game is significantly more fun when you're actually playing with others. |

Wow ...
I have always considered myself a pretty normal guy and I started back in 2005, when tutorial was ... QUITE BASIC.
I dont even remember it after almost 10 years, but honestly, It was way RAW back then and I got on the game pretty quick.
My best friend invited me over, because he told me there was a game he didnt understand but enjoyed a lot about spaceships, I joined on and we both talked on the phone as we were playing.
I remember flying randomly until I realized it was a fly-by click game and confused at the weird bubbles in the map I suddenly popped up that gave me distances.
And I asked my friend " Uhhh ... what are you supposed to do here?"
He told me "I don-¦t know man! HAHAHA"
And then , it struck me like the COMET THAT CREATED THE MAW IN THE OGRE KINGDOMS ...
And that was it, I began to chat with people ingame, for some reason someone tried to scam me for my free implant telling me he was going to give me a cool new industrial for it (LOL) but I knew back then he seemed a bit too eager and blocked him, and just went to do some missions. Rest is history.
If you actually need to UNDERSTAND every single aspect of a game off the tutorial you are taking the wrong approach in my humble opinion man, EVE doesnt work like that.
For weeks I remembered I "pimped" (in my mind) my frigate with BOTH shield booster and armor reppers, because logically you needed a booster for both (to my newbie mind anyway) .... It was bloody, until I decided to talk again to people INGAME.
You know, people, those players that have been playing, hang around and even sometimes answer your questions in here?
If having to talk to others to understand the game, or read what other players say or explain about the game infringes your notion of a "perfect" or "logical" way to understand a game, you are taking a stance regarding EVE that is quite at odds with it.
If you believe, that issues like those DENOTE A FLAW in the game, the way it is presented and people like me and many others in this thread just show up with their intentions of clarifying these aspects of said game just reinforce the WRONGNESS of this game, then sir, you either need a paradigm shift and adjust to this game or avoid it like the plague.
I for one , would love to see you CHANGE your perspective, and enter into learning mode and begin to soak up in the intricacies of this sandbox, but I must admit this game is not every bodies cup of tea.
Eve is first a game of constant adaptation, evolving as time goes by and seeing the hard crusts at the edges.
The interface I must confess is a bit esoteric to some, and if you play this game with a CONCRETE MIND it is in essence THIS and at most will ALWAYS BE THAT ....
Now if you simply decide to ABSTRACT a bit out of the game and see it differently it can become ANYTHING, from this MESS to this other MESS and guess what, you might not understand a single thing of whats happening there, and thats ok. But posting those videos just to show the possibilities.
You can also become like this guy, He does a lot of very informative videos for people just starting into the game, he simply tries to explore eve at his own pace and records them for others to see.
You can also try listening to what this guy says ...
I-¦m digressing a bit, but I really hope you drink a beer, sip some tea, smoke some pot or anything that relaxes you, boot up your pc, log in , take a DEEP BREATH, try to leave everything you know about OTHER GAMES and MMOs , and slowly ACCEPT the fact not even the GREATEST TUTORIAL in the PLANET can even come close to the POTENTIAL this game offers you and you can-¦t just "learn" everything (not even the basics) in a few days and that you NEED to READ/TALK and even METAGAME a bit to thrive in here.
The Community WILL ALWAYS SNEER IN HATRED at people saying "MEH THIS GAME BLOWS IT SUX TROLOLOL EXCEL SHEETS IN SPACE FREELANCER WAS BETTER LELELELELELE" And I KNOW this isnt what you said, but it ends up sounding the same (if you go deeper you will know this).
And oh boy, my only warning to you, is get a THICK skin, know eve works on a TOUGH LOVE approach (to put it mildly) and psychopathic "pirates of evil" here are usually people that just want to shoot stuff up for FUN and if you actually take your time to know them, they are very nice and fine people.
As a personal tip, never EVER cry FOUL about anything PVP Related (Ship explosions and VIOLENCING YOUR ASSETS) done INGAME, specially in the forums, it marks you as a ... "target" , specially when someone blows you up out of nowhere in Hi sec
Grow a bit in Hi sec, go into low sec, pew pew with others or get blown up some times, be free ...
And I am digressing again , back in point , I think I explained (hope it was enough) why NO TUTORIAL ever here will let you understand everything.
From The Politics done in Nullspace, to the lowest solo miner in the most safe spot in Hi sec, there-¦s just so many play styles that knowing how to move around is practically worthless since it-¦s a given after a while.
Think your way in here. There-¦s no secret purple loot to be gained by raiding and even high end gear WILL GET BLOWN UP and turned into dust.
TLDR: Find people to play with and learn from. No tutorial needed.
PD: There are many corps here in the game that help newbie players get the "feeling" of the many possibilities the game offers, like EVE-U for example or go the Corp Recruitment channel and state your intentions of joining a newbie friendly corp. Back in April, 2012, before the tutorials were made easy, I did them all without even knowing the forums existed.
While EVE can be played casually, it is not a casual game. If you want "no learning required", they have Angry Birds for that.
But EVE is a big, single-shard sandbox of complexity, where you can do a tonne of different things - where you are the content creator. You just can't have a game like that without a learning curve.
Speaking of which, it is, as Ralph has said, the learning curve that tends to filter out those that would not survive for long anyway, so it's probably for the best that you quit now before any permanent damage is done. I'll try to be kind as possible, but your post is kinda ignorant and you probably not going to like what I gonna say. I can come over a bit harsh and rude, that's my personality and don't reflects the mayor part of the eve community, If you cant take criticism please scroll further.
I started 3 months ago by myself, it takes quite some time to cover the basics ( according to eveboard I spend around 200 hours before I was able to tell what's going on in nullsec, my playtime is now around 450 hours and still feel like a complete noob ) Eve has indeed a massive learning curve, but it's also one of the easiest game to learn, to master is a different story.
''Come on guys ..... not one single tutorial that could be completed without going on the forum ?????'' ( btw, when talking to mature people, one eroteme already does the trick ) Well I did all the tutorials in half a day, without help or some guide's, I started using the forums and other websites after I was already settled down in nullsec. ( for me nullsec is bestsec, yes even for a noob it's pretty awesome down there but that's more a matter of preferred gaming experience, I like to learn the full metal jacket way )
Eve is all about engagement, going through forums, read tutorials, meet people, join newb friendly corps, watching youtube vids and helping each other out, that's the big power driving this awesome community. If you change your mind and certainly your attitude you are more than welcome to message me, I can get you through the tutorials and some other basic things, don't expect to hold hands and chewing it all out for you, if that's still your attitude about learning this in life than don't bother to message me.
I'm actually surprised about your other posts on the forums, It took you several hours to accept a mission and actually undock. For now only 3 things can pop into my mind, 1; I misunderstood you 2; you didn't read and impatiently click on everything, 3; you have an actual learning disability ( no not making fun or being simply rude, if this is really the case, please go somewhere else before you end up as a joke and everybody is making fun of you ). Eve online and other games are like the difference between high school and university, this time it's your own responsibility to get somewhere and you need to invest some time and also read some further information instead of just following the steps in the books. So I'll simply cut it down for you, eve is one of the easiest games out here thanks to the over flood of information and tutorials outside the game, It just take some discipline. Mastering the game is actually the toughest part, it can take years and it is a process where the man will be separated from the boys ( on the hard way, like ******* did )
TLDR: change your attitude and you are more than welcome to have a fun time with us and there are a lot of people who wants to help you out ( including me ) , if you still thinks this game is hard, this will suit you better; http://orteil.dashnet.org/cookieclicker/ |

I did the tutorials as they were in 2008, then joining a corp of other newish players. Those guys provided my Stage 2 tutorial. They were starting Level 4 missions and I was asking advice on what T1 frig to buy-- they were gods in my eyes.
The point is, you can hang out in your char's race's new player channel and learn a lot from other people exploring the game. Or you can join a corp, and pick people's brains. They will be happy to help (and show off their advanced expertise). Don't quit yet man, there are easy ways to learn this game. "Were [sic] not your monkey and so what?"-á -The Sex Pistols (2006) |

What a rush!
Saying that this game isn't for everyone is a nice way of saying that if you're not smart enough, you better look for something easy.
