I've come to the conclusion that ships are holding their initial cloak (after jumping through a hole) even for some period while they move. Longer than they should be. Ships with 4 second align times are warping off and escaping scan rez that should lock them in less than a second. Some ships seem to warp instantly the moment they appear on the overview.
This is not due to stabs or cloak, or insufficient lock time. I am positive.
Has anyone else been noticing this? Or is this just my imagination? |

Not entirely sure it related as such, but we've noticed several ships appear out of cloak and then being unnable to lock them for several seconds, the message coming up has been the faliure to target ship and then suddenly they're in warp... Considering this was happening when I was in my sebo'd crow and they where in a 7 second align, none cloaky Tengu... Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person." |

I am now using the MWD=Cloak trip when jumping holes because I am no where near the hole. Is this what you are experiencing?

I've been a little reserved on mentioning it, since there's a lot of reasons to miss a ship, be it stabs, cloak (which often has display lag) or otherwise. I didn't want to mention it based on a cloak+warp situation, since the distance frigs appear away from the hole is probably going to reduce the kills a fair bit by itself.
Since the patch I've been seeing ships essentially appear to be unlockable, and warp off even without cloak. It could be that they can't be locked for some reason, or it could be that they are spending some of their align time without appearing on the overview - it's hard to tell which.
It can't be that they have the align time to warp before caught, through. I'm using a 3500 scan rez tackler and control + spam clicking. Before the patch I caught nano'd inties with a near perfect record. Now it feels like I'm lucky to catch a cruiser.
It could be my imagination, and I don't want to start a false rumor. I just wanted to see if anyone else had noticed the same.

I've seen the same kind of thing, repeatedly. We were on a ceptor roam the other day, only four of us, but all four of us at the same time had this issue over three occasions. With two coming off a wormhole and one coming off a gate. They are on overview for several seconds but it comes up with it being unlockable and then they warp off. I have had people accuse my alt of witchcraft because they couldn't lock her. It seems to me that when you press the cloak button your ship remains on the overviews for a few seconds. I will do my usual cloak/MWD trick and the ceptor doesn't know that I pressed cloak the same moment I hit align. While he's mashing the lock buttons and approaching, I'm not disappearing on his overview immediately like a cloaked thing should.
Anyway, I've been convo'ed about it a few times. I don't know if it's the same glitch that you all are talking about, but immediate decloak/recloak still shows you for a few seconds even though the server will not really allow them to be locked. It's nice for spotting scouts, but frustrating for inties. |

Aye, I've had that happen before and while that could have def happened with the Astero we chased, the Tengu had 6 Heavy Missile Launchers which left no room for a cloak. (Yeah we followed the Tengu and got a damned good luck at his ship hahaha we did end up also getting him into half shields but he ran away through a gate ) Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. I've seen that many times, and that's what I was talking about with cloaking display lag, and why I wasn't prepared to comment under those circumstances. it has different symptoms though. The target starts to warp, them BLOOP disappears. I didn't want to mention anything based on those situations.
What we're talking about is targets that warp out without cloak. You can actually track and follow them because they aren't cloaked for the entire period of the warp - see them on scan, etc. |

Test it and confirm it ffs. Have one of your ships (similar or same as ones you have failed to lock) jump through WH and you try and lock it. If it happens again then you have a case.
