It all depends on where prices settle I guess. As it is now, most pilots filled up with implants are shying away from all danger, tucked up in a station suite somewhere. |

... Still saying if it was possible to salvage implants from corpses, we'd be having gankfest now with people trying to get their implants the easy way.... :s

Basic implants are easy to get. They're, atm, about the price of a rare laserhybrid/projectile weapon. No reason not to pvp with them plugged in.

This discussion has been repeated over and over again.
Implants are no different from rare pirate drops. Losing 6-8 250 proto railguns, your ship, vortex stabs etc.
What exactly makes implants different?
For your information I will sum up the outcome of the previous discussions:
1) PVP still happens. The main playerbase in Eve is hardcore - they can deal with losing stuff. 2) The only *real* problem with PVP is that the game has a series of performance/design issues with the ways battles are fought. 3) Eve will never be Counter Strike in space. You die - you suffer!

@Discorp: Since clones are so cheap, training time has, until now, not been affected by how dangerous a life you lead in EVE. Skill-training is the holiest of holiest to quite a lot of players it seems, perhaps even more important than having a good time playing?
Ship mods have no impact on skill-training. I still think losing a bunch of elite implants will be a bigger stay safe reason than any ship mods.

Yah, its not the price of the clones or the ships anymore. Those all are easy to replace. Its the price of the weapons. Did you know that top end loot guns on something like a maller add up to well over 50 million?

Can a player remove an implant once its implanted? If so, problem solved! just remove the implant before you plan to go off fighting! before you go to bed, put it on again.

No, implants cannot be removed.
That said, they are not hard to come by. The prices will continue to fall and supply will continue to rise.
Right now losing a set of implants would be devestating, but in a few weeks it will be nothing but an extra trip to the Market to replace lost items at reasonable prices.
