Xavier Higdon wrote:I hope they remove it from all non-Empire systems. It just doesn't make sense that you can see everybody in a system like that. Sure, it makes my travels in Null safer, but it also stops tactics such as ambushes, surprise attacks and counter attacks from being possible outside of blob warfare, and I'm a big fan of tactical planning.
Why only nullsec?
Screw that if this goes through - and i would like local to be removed btw - it should be in EVERY system in eve.
You think the nullsec carebears will cry a lot , just wait till you see how both wardec-targets AND those who regularly dec in empire are relying on local chat information.Try agressing on the 4-4 undock now without a care when there's a potential 50 man warfleet waiting next door to screw you over , not to mention the fun of probing a target out in a syste .

Marlona Sky wrote:One thing that would help is making PvE with a PvP fit a reality. Then if someone is caught, at least they have a chance to fight off the attackers. Right now everyone is forced or opts for a 100% PvE fit to gain the best ISK. And because PvP with a PvE fit is suicide, the very moment a hostile comes in system, the smartest thing to do is to get safe.
I can see your point , however enlighten me how the underlined is not the same as the empire miner telling us he had fit no tank against ganks because it would make his minerals mined per hour suffer badly?
You know the guys we like to point and laugh at ?

Johnny Uma wrote:Couldn't they replace it with an improved D-Scan? Or some kind of regional chat as someone suggested. Maybe even something really cool I haven't even thought about.
My guess would be that whatever they come up with , the guy who has a spare alt and can run a scanbot in the system next door will be the happiest ratter in the region .

You know the guys we like to point and laugh at ? The thing is that "PvE fit" means shooting into the rats' weakest resistances, because ratting with, say, lasers in Guristas/Serpentis space is just ridiculous. It also means tanking for the rats' damage, which excludes EANMs and invulns. If you want to log in and rat for an hour or two to keep your wallet afloat, you really don't want to spend time looking for somebody to fly a scimitar alongside you which would mean that you'd have to spend twice the amount of time shooting red crosses than you otherwise would, because 0.0 anomalies don't reward group play at all.
I know what a pve/pvp fit is and how people in null run anomolies etc , my game experience lies in all fields besides wormholes , the question was not related to what null ratting is the question was what the difference was between isk/hour ratting tengu excuse and isk/hour mining barge excuse .
So the reasons we have now as to why it should be changed is :
-We want a pure pve fit BUT add extra pvp abilities otherwise our isk/hour ratio is lower when ratting. -We want to solo it otherwise we'll have to group and that would mean less isk/hour , effort.
Now empire dwellers who are formiliar with the high-sec vs null-sec threads by now should **** their pants from the irony overload here.

The difference is that miners were sacrificing all their tanking ability for the sake of eking out 5% more ore than they otherwise would. When you're talking about nullsec anomalies, a PvP fit just isn't viable. Not because it generates less isk/hour, but because anomalies completely disincetivize group play simply because of how bounty payouts work.
So how does the bounty payout keep you from grouping?Enlighten me that please.
