Yep, it looks like I got the same freeze thing going on too.
Was fine the last few days then today I was warping to the sun and it just froze up mid warp. Scary part was after sitting on the frozen screen for a bit, force restating, then re-loging after the boot, my ship was just sitting there at 0 on the sun. It never warped off after the disconnect?

Vincent Athena wrote:I decided to make sure this was not an issue at my end, so I ran disk utility and hit "verify disk". It found problems. Due to various issues involving our IT department and stuff they got loaded onto my computer and the holiday shutdown I cannot get it fixed right away. In the meantime I was showing the IT guy that things usually worked, including Eve. Then right after undocking at Jita (with the IT guy watching) Eve froze.
Anyway: To all getting freezes or crashes, open "Disk Utility" and use "Verify disk" and see if there are any problems.
This computer is my main source of income, so I run Disk Utility often, no problems on my end, yet Eve still runs like poop.
And while this is good advice for any Mac user who should run this occasionally anyway, I would find it astronomically strange that such a coincidence would occur that right at the release of Crucible half the Mac users would suddenly develop unrelate problems that would cause Eve to freeze and crash. |

Got the freeze last night while running a plex. Full screen mode with nothing running in the background.
Interestingly I had a "kinda freeze" about 20 min before the real one. The client had the grfx freeze (where things where still happening on TQ just not on my client) for about 10 sec, then suddenly the rat I was shooting disappears (I guess it had taken full damage by then) my ammo depletes and I had control of the client back. The one I had latter though I never got control of the client back, but my ship did leave space once I rebooted (which is kinda a victory I guess).

Update: This patch appears to stop the freezes, but I'm suspecting the patch was an unpatch... as portraits problems are back!! Fly Safe!! Try clearing your CACHE files.
Clearing the cache only works for a little while, the fundemental problem is still there. |

Ivana Twinkle wrote:You sure? I havent crashed on MY MAC today, and it has been on for an hour now. I'm positive that efforts have been made to fix this issue.
I'm on a rather new computer (2011 MacbookPro) and the client was rather stable since crucible. By "rather" I mean i would get the Freeze, or Crash to desktop about once or twice a week each. Since the last patch I had three Freezes, and one CTD last night alone.
But i keep saying every update is like some crappy game show prize wheel of Mac problems. Crash to desktop todayGǪ freeze issue after the patch. Freeze issue before, crash at gates next patch. During each patch or update your client steps up and spins the "Wheel Of Mac Issues" and develops a whole new set of problems in exchange for your old ones. Problems that CCP will either ignore, say they can't replicate then ignore, or take months to admit there may be a problem then disappear and seemingly do nothing about it for another few months, all until the next update when your client steps up and spins the wheel again and the whole thing starts over. |

Vincent Athena wrote:I just tested my method for triggering a freeze and un-freezing it. Its back. I can at will freeze the client, and bring it back. As I do not get spontaneous freezes I have no idea if my un-freeze method will work for those that do.
Would someone who gets freezes spontaneously please try my un-freeze method? All you do is open the launcher, then close it by clicking the red go-away button on the window.
I froze last night (not running anything else) but was in full screen mode and it completely froze the entire OS. I couldn't try your method, since not only could I not tab out, I couldn't force quite (or bring up the menu) either. Had to hard reboot. |

So I had a freeze last night. The one where your ship stays in space. What was odd though was the freeze happened as I was in warp so my ship continued to the warp in point but when I landed I had dropped fleet. Luckily I was on TS3 so as I heard the calls of "neutral Jag landing" and was able to tell them not to shoot me on sight. It didn't emergency warp until I force quit the client.
So yea, my ship stayed in space, continued warp but dropped fleet. |

I'm getting a few of these a week now. I can almost defiantly force a hard freeze while using the in game browser and hitting certain sites (or when sites that are having a problem loading) but that has always happened. Now I'm getting the freeze just clicking on tabs in game or moving in space. |

Well it's not the "flicker freeze" that others have been getting, but since the last big patch I've defiantly been getting the old "normal" mac freeze a lot more now. (and yea it's pretty bad when you have to differentiate between the "normal" and "new" crashes of a client!)
Since I'm getting them more regularly I've been able to notice a few possible factors in my case. First it seems the in game browser (which you have to use since you can't copy and paste outside the mac client??) seems to be one factor. A couple of my crashes came just after clicking a link in fleet that started to load a page, then the client just freezes up. The other instance seem to be entering or exiting warp. This is by far the most common one I get. |
